Sunday Musings
me explaining the first day of my period to addison today:
it begins with three hours of a mutinous roller coaster of emotions. i feel frustration, loathing, anger, sadness, and eerily psychically attuned with the world. my ovaries feel like they are being wrung out like a sponge. but somehow i come out of all of this with a sense of purging, and all of the mental build-up in my mind over the past few weeks gets more clarity as it releases in waves (aka death cramps).
currently drinking dandelion PMS tea -- gracias, T-dog. also i steamed collard greens for the first time and threw some apple cider vinegar on that bish and omg it is so good.
in other news: I AM SO READY TO GRADUATE, I CANNOT STAND IT. the only motivation i have pulling me through until December is that i don't want to fail and have to be in school for another semester. haha. EXCEPT SERIOUSLY.
in other other news. i feel like i am reaching a point of awareness in examining my friendships -- whether or not they are even-sided or fueled by true care for me as a person. also i'm aiming more towards lessening personal guilt for not wanting to participate in those that do not aid my growth. i'm seeing better ways to ending a friendship that combine finding a balance between discreetly walking away with no explanation and an unnecessarily hurtful exchanging of words. there doesn't have to be any painful interactions externally afflicted on the other party, whether through words or actions. it can just be a process of giving your say, and letting go.
Day 16: PMS Tea (You read that right don't worry 6/16/11)
Recap: Â We will avoid being labeled misogynists, and not make period jokes at length. Â Instead, we will do it in another haiku:
Warning all women
Men die by your hand monthly
If not for this tea
Verdict: ...Dunk?
