Rating: Masterpiece

Be On Cloud just had this quality to their bls that’s kind of unmatched by the industry, with exceptions for more serious dramas. But Be On Cloud’s body of work is almost exclusively that and they excel greatly at it.

I know I usually just write spoilers in these, but like I can’t do that justice here. There’s just so much intrigue, layers, and turmoil in it and it’s so good. This is more a political period drama than a cutesy BL. If you like that, you should watch it.

The soundtrack is amazing. The cinematography is amazing. The editing is amazing. The acting is amazing. The casting is amazing because they got a Russian actor and a Thai-Ukrainian actor instead of just picking any random white and wasian guy.

If you like darker, spicier BL, you’ll love it.

If you like tragic romance, you’ll love it.

If you like political thrillers, you’ll love it.

If you like period dramas, you’ll love it.

If you like beautiful queer cinema, you’ll love it.

If you like complex characters and even more complex stories, you’ll love it.

If you like stories that’ll just tear your heart to absolute shreds, you’ll love it.
