#plumping gloss

Revolution is just one of those brands that never stops, they always release products that you never knew you needed or they release something you want that is a perfect drugstore dupe and saves you so much money!!!! Moral of the story if you ever need a drugstore brand that offers you EVERYTHING don’t even bother going elsewhere.

Revolution have just released a collection of glosses called ‘Pout Bomb Plumping Gloss’ £5.00 each now I know what you’re all thinking what other gloss has a name that ends with bomb 👀. But unlike a famous gloss bomb this gloss isn’t just hella shiney on the lips it can also “Plump up your pout” and is “Infused with Vitamin E for added nourishment”. Now to me this is a prime example of Revolution coming out with something and then adding even more to it. I love wearing these glosses it doesn’t leave your lips feeling sticky and it genuinely leaves a gorgeous high shine effect on the lips. The plumping effect feels like a light tingle on the lips but nothing too crazy or uncomfortable which I’m really happy about.

I played it safe and picke up two shades , the first is called Kiss which is a nude pink gloss (kinda like fussy but less glittery) and the second shade is called Glaze which is a clear gloss (kinda like diamond bomb again without the glitter). There are 7 shades in total but I played it kinda safe so I knew I would get a lot of use of them. In all honesty I’m such a fan of this formula and given the glosses are only £5.00 each it’s crazy !!! Considering most of the glosses I’ve recently got have been £15+ this definitely made a nice change.

If you’re looking for a gloss bomb dupe (minus the glitter effect gloss bomb offers) this gloss is utter perfection and the perfect match for you. I’m so excited about these new products and Revolution have posted on their socials recently teasers about new products to come and I’m even more excited now.

 Hard Candy SS18 Lips

I am so excited to share the Hard Candy SS18 collection with you today! I have so many fun products to talk about so I had to split it up into two parts. Today will be all about lips and next week’s Hard Candy post will be all about... GLITTER. A LOT OF GLITTER. Get excited for that one because the products are so gorgeous. 

I have always been a huge fan of Hard Candy’s lip products. While some (only some) of Hard Candy’s makeup tends to be hit or miss, their lippies have never disappointed. I got to test out two of their newest additions to their lip range for the 2018 year - the Plumping Serum Lip Gloss and the Cashmere Silk Demi-Matte Cream Lip Color. 

The Plumping Serum is a volumizing lip gloss that is not only incredibly glossy and shiny but also super hydrating on the lips. Now, I’m gonna let y’all in on a little secret. These are an exact dupe for the Dior Lip Maximizers. Who wants to spend $43(CAD) on a lip gloss when you could spend only six bucks (USD, $6.98CAD) on one of these. Plus, these Plumping Serum glosses come in over 20 shades (24 to be exact)! They are more on the sheer side but the colours are super gorgeous. My favorite is Sugar Sugar which is a beautiful pinky nude that I love to top over any lipstick shade or wear on it’s own for that “oh I just got lip injections” look. I also got to try Dirty Mind which is a purple berry shade and Skin Deep which is more of a Dark Maroon!

I’m also obsessed with the Hard Candy Demi-Matte Crème Lip Color ($6USD, $6.98CAD) however I wouldn’t say they’re anything close to matte or even demi-matte. To me, they are a more pigmented lip gloss that give off a decent amount of shine! They are so hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Think a liquid lipstick but without it  drying down so it never sucks the moisture out of your lips! They are so creamy and smooth! The shades are absolutely beautiful with a lineup of seven shades ranging from nudes to pinks to deep reds. I tried out two of the shades with the first being Macaron which is the most beautiful nude that I’ve been wearing nonstop. It’s that perfect lip colour that you can wear any day with anything. The second is Tartufo which is a deep reddish brown that I can’t wait to pull out for Fall. Imagine it with a camel coloured turtleneck and booties. Who else is excited for sweater weather?!
