His mind could not process any further information. He just ran through the corridors, down the stairs, looking into each cell, each room, each part of that damned building as fast as he could. Liesel had to be there, somewhere. But when he found her —oh, when he found her, — he only wished that he hadn’t. Empty blue eyes looking into the void, not a word, not a breath, only the blood soaking her skin dripping on the floor with a mechanical sound.
