"Can't I just jump the school today?"
Facilier laughed "You ask me every morning!"
Lilo sighed. She was sitting in the car, next to her father, that was driving. They had almost reached the school.
"I'm still waiting for a yes…" she mumbled in reply
"The you'll still have to wait" he teased her
Lilo sighed again "I just don't get why I have to go there! It's elementary school, dad! Elementary! I've already finished tons of university's books!"
This time was Facilier's turn to sigh: he loved his daughter, but she could be so terribly annoying sometimes…
"Patient, patient! Whatever…"
She was mad at him. Again. And she was mad cause she was unhappy. And there was no way to change it. She was lonely: too intelligent to stay with the other kids, too young to be part of the adults's world. Even if he had allowed her to jump the school, she would have done nothing but read. As always. Facilier really wished to be able to do something to help his daughter, but there was no way.
But he was the only person that Lilo cared about, and the only thing he could do was to stay always there for her. And he did.
"Here we are" he said parking. "I'll wait you after school."
"As always…" replied Lilo with no enthusiasm recovering her heavy backpack.
"Come on, darling, won't you give me a smile before to leave?"
Lilo looked at him with an angry glance before to sigh again: she couldn't stay mad at him, she really couldn't. She smiled.
"At least you could avoid to send me into that expensive private school… It's a wasting of money! The teachers are all so dummy, i'm learning nothing..."
she teased him again, but he didn't want to argue
"At least I know you're safe, and I like know that you're just across the stree." She shook her head: she should have known that try to argue with him was pointess
"See you later dad" she said kissing his cheek before to leave the car.
He followed her with the glance until she entered in the school, then he went off the car as well and crossed the road to reach his office.
