Circumstances had given him a chance and it would be a lie to say he did not want capitalize on it. After all, he never liked Paladins, even after learning that he was related to any. In fact that and previous interaction with that side of the family made his disdain for them all the more pronounced.
Related or not, he was more than willing to see them fall from grace. To see them brought low just like the family on his Fatherās side.
But, despite what he yearns for, he could not deny that nagging feeling either. Prejudices aside, could he really go through with it if they were the righteous Sultansworn they claimed to be? Would he still be willing to stain his hands if that were the case?

Hunkās first truly memorable scar, and trip into the healing pod.
Hunk had plenty of scars, some physical, some not.
The grand majority of them were small, tiny little knicks from this or that while working on his projects. They contained a large collection of small things- burns from his hands slipping with a soldering iron, a thin strip of light, shinier skin on his pinky where heād sliced a strip of it off on a snapped cable, or little pale puckered strips of skin hidden in his calluses where heād sliced his fingers with his cooking tools.
He even had a few scars on his knuckles from improperly binding his hands before going at his punching bag.
His skin didnāt keep big scars easy.
Hunk liked to thank his Tinamatua for that gift. Once upon a time, he used to think, in his sweet, childish way, that she had magic powers. Whenever he would get hurt, she would wash his cuts in the sea, and they would heal up without a mark.
āYou are like the sand, my sweet Grandson.ā She would murmur to him. āA little seawater can wash all your marks away.ā
Sheād always told him that their family healed easy, that wounds wiped away from their skin like the marks in the sand against the waves of the sea.
Perhaps thatās why he got along so well with Lance. If Hunk was the sand, then Lance was the ocean. They worked together- it was why they were such good friends.
His Tinamatua had always preached that their supple skin and easy healing would make getting his malofie easier if he ever could just get past the ridiculously petrifying fear of anything remotely needle like coming towards his skin. If he could ever get past it, perhaps, just maybe, she might say yes to him getting one when he came of age and felt he was ready and worthy of one.
But, there were some scars that not even an ocean storm could wash away.
The first time Hunk had to go into an Altean healing pod, it wasnāt even during the war. Heād made it through the entire conflict with the Galra, and all of the aliens and even going into a Weblumās stomach, and had only ever had to have basic bandaging.
Never mind the fact that heād been hospitalized on earth- that didnāt count. Everyone was hospitalized.
With the return of Altea and Daibazaal, healing cryo-pods had become commonplace on most ships. They did wonders for anything that wasnāt a common or more serious illness, or a required surgery. It couldnāt fix your appendix if your appendix needed removed, but it could hold you in stasis until they got you to someone who could yank it out.
Hunk was incredibly thankful that they had cryo-pods on board the Atlas.
He also learned his first major life-lesson in his work for the Coalition.
Planet Kium, formerly under forced Galra control, was home to a lush, jungle like environment, with towering, spiral based vibrant orange trees as far as the eye could see. The trees at their largest were easily as big around as the smallest of the Lions, and at their smallest, they stood larger than even the redwoods back home.
Itās people, the Tātka, built their homes and businesses and livelihoods inside of these massive, stony textured trees.
The Tātka were, to Hunk, an incredibly interesting people. They were omnivorous, but had a strong preference for meat. They had three eyes, two in the place like a normal human, and a third, bobbing on an odd tendril extending from their skulls, which were bedecked with spines and frills and horns of all kinds. The Tātka stood taller than him, perhaps eight or nine feet tall, and walked on six, stumpy legs. To make up for their land speed being something they were lacking in, they had four, massive arms that curled with muscles that could make a Balmeran look small.
Their hands werenāt unlike someone had taken a scythe and stuck the wicked curved blades on the ends of their middle most finger- of which, they had nine on each hand.
When pressed, the Tātka King had informed everyone that the claws now were just used for courtship and decoration, and, on occasion, carving out homes in new trees. Nothing so malicious as fighting. Violence was not the Tātka way- that was the Galra way.
Everyone tried to look past the fact that almost half of the Tātka had been declawed. It was not something they could fix.
Dinner and negotiations had gone lovely. The Tātka were absolutely enraptured with Hunkās cooking crewās skill.
To be fair, they had all come a long way from not being able to cook to being able to craft entire masterpieces on their own and without his supervision. He was forever and always would be so, so proud of the founding team for his culinary empire.
His first major life lesson came in to play as he was bringing out dessert- Frozen Orange Tortes with Cranberry Compote, which had unanimously been chosen to display an absolutely delicious delicacy from Earth- for the official members of the Kingās court, and the delegates from the Atlas.
Honestly, Hunk isnāt too sure what happened at the start. He didnāt see it coming, nor did anyone else for that matter.
Between placing artfully crafted plates of delectable frozen treats down for the eager Tātka, Hunk, between one breath and the next, found himself on the ground, with his stomach burning with an almost numbing sort of hellfire.
The screaming started next- not his, no, he was too busy taking ragged breaths and feeling cold despite the hot wash of something bubbling over his front like magma.
It was interrupted by the hard shaking of the trees, and a Lion screaming- Yellow, his Lion, howling in outrage, and tearing through the forest to find him.
The sounds above him were indistinct at first- his cooking crew, the delegates, the King, all in a rush to yell something at someone. The one standing above him, however, just kept yelling, screaming, that, āThe Tātka have already been subservient to the Galra once, and they will not do it for another people under another name, in the guise of an alliance!ā
Hunk learned that day, that just because the Coalition came promising peace, that it did not mean that everyone saw them as anything less than the Galra they had overthrown and subsequently absorbed into their ranks.
To some, the Coalition were conquerors, just under another name and a fancy mask.
It was a blur, then- fighting, fighting, so much fighting, screaming, bodies falling, blood everywhere, and fallen deserts when tables and carts were tipped.
He was aware that the floor was cold- and that he could feel a breeze where he should not. His head had lolled to the side- he was looking at a crushed Frozen Orange Torte, with the Cranberry Compote oozing over the floor like blood. Or it might have been blood. There wasā¦. There was a lot of it.
Hands took him- big, large, clawed hands, rocky hands, and glowing yellow eyes. His Balmeran chef was moving him, jostling him, and pain unlike anything Hunk had ever known lanced through his body.
It felt like, in being dragged, parts of him were being pulled in half.
āKruos.ā The chefās name came to his lips with a cry of torment, āFaamolemole taofi. Faamolemole taofi, e tiga.ā
It occurred to him moments later, when Kruos didnāt stop, that he had no idea what Hunk had pleaded for.
āShh,ā Large hands moved him out of the way of the scuffle, and rocky shoulders tried to shield him from items being tossed āShh. Donāt talk, okay? Donāt talk.ā
āWhat- what hap-?ā
āThe Princess.ā Kruos interrupted him. āShe took her claw and tore open your belly. Itās- itās bad. I need to put this back inside you, okay? It might hurt just a little, but bear with me-ā and a rocky palm pressed something- something soft and squishy and slick with blood- against Hunkās middle to try and fit it back inside.
Hunkās vision went white. He might have screamed.
ā-unk! Hunk, come on, stay with me, please. There we go, yes, yes, itās okay. Itās okay.ā Frantic eyes stared down at him, and gentle knuckles patted his face. āYouāre losing too much life essence. Youāre fading your colors out, Hunk. How much can humans lose?ā
āThirty⦠Thirty percent?ā He whispered blearily. He wasnāt sure. Thirty percent was fatal he thought. It wasnāt a biologist.
āOkay. Okay, okay.ā It was chanted like a mantra. āYouāre going to be okay. Keep your eyes open for me, okay? Weāll get you out.ā
Youāll be okay.
Keep your eyes open.
Hunk, Hunk donāt go to sleep.
It became a mantra, accompanied by thick, Balmeran knuckles patting him back into awareness, even as the fighting died down and a stretcher was called for.
Hunk didnāt last until the stretcher got there.
He came to, tumbling out of the healing pod into Lanceās arms.
Coming out of the healing pod was often disorienting. Some people came out swinging, their minds stuck in the last place they remembered, which was usually combat. Some people came out just fine, walking on their own, talking, only to crash later and sleep for hours. Some people came out cold and shivering, and struggling to move, but otherwise fine.
Some people, like Hunk, came out feeling like he was made of ice and was carrying his Lion on his shoulders, his body too heavy for him to hold up.
Lance was a strong lad- heād spent a couple years on earth, working with his family, and Hunkās family, and setting up a farm. Earth had been ravaged by the Galra- the population was now down under one billion people total, so there was a lot to be done by everyone. In doing all the work, his muscles had toned up, and he was no longer the strictly lanky boy. He could toss hay with the best of them, and, on occasion, actually hold his own when wrestling with Keith.
It did not, however, mean he was ready for seven plus feet of Hunk to come toppling into his arms, completely dead weight.
Lance grunted, held him up for a few seconds, and then hit his knees with an almighty clacking noise.
Hunk was too chilled and numb from the pod to feel anything besides a dull ache that told him heād wear a bruise on one of his shins later.
āHunk. Come on, hermano, come on.ā Rough callused hands patted his face. āVamos, Hunk. Ćbreme los ojos, chico grande. Are you with me?ā
Hunkās eyes fluttered open, and he groaned softly. His throat was dry and cold, and he coughed into Lanceās shoulder. āSĆ.ā He rasped.
āGood. Good.ā Lanceās arms tightened around him into his best attempt at a nearly crushing hug. āYouāre such an asshole, you know that?ā
āNuh?ā
āI leave you alone in space for two years, and you go off and get yourself nearly cut in half by some big, four armed mantis finger alien motherfuckers. If you missed me that much, you just had to say so- no need for drama.ā Lanceās spindly fingers came up to cup the back of Hunkās head, and he threaded his fingers through his hair. āHermano, hermano mĆo, me vas a poner gris antes de mi tiempo.ā
Hunk sighed softly into Lanceās shoulder. āYouād look good in gray hair. Itād make your marks stand out more.ā He mumbled. His eyes closed again, and he sighed, slumping more.
āHey, hey, no. You donāt get to sleep here. Youāre heavy, hermano. Wake your ass up and at least help me move you over to the couches, okay?ā Lance gave him a gentle jostling.
Hunk groaned. āNoooo.ā
āYeeeees. Come on, up and atām, or Iāll break out the tickle fingers.ā
āYouāre an ass.ā Still, Hunk struggled to his feet, his body moving slow, like molasses that had sat in a freezer. His legs quivered and shook, and threatened to give.
Lance was there, shoving up and under his arm and helping him wobble and totter his way to the day-bed like couch that was there for these such occasions. It was jokingly called the fainting couch, but it was mostly used for post-pod napping.
When Hunk was settled down, he found his lap full of Lance- with Lanceās arms around his neck.
The Cubanās shoulders trembled minutely, but against Hunkās chest, he could feel every quake.
āLance⦠Were you exaggerating?ā Hunk asked, his head lolling back against the couch, eyes at half-mast. āAbout...ā
āNo.ā Lance murmured. āI wasnāt. I got a rundown of everything when I got here. Why wouldnāt I? Iām your bestie, and this was your first pod trip. I wanted to know.ā
āTell meā¦?ā
āOkay, hermano.ā Lance nestled his face against his chest and sucked in a trembling breath. āThe alien princess lady- she had beef with her dad trying to make peace. So, uh⦠She took out who she thought was āleadingā the Coalition, since you do so much of the negotiations and peace talks, for like, everything. Those Titkak-ā
āTātka,ā Hunk corrected with bleary instinctive accuracy.
āTātka,ā Lance continued, āhave those wicked nasty blade fingers. Hers never got removed by the Galra, and theyāve all got beefy arms, even the females, so, uh⦠Well. Your chefs gear didnāt⦠put up enough resistance. When she sliced you open, she took you nearly to the spine.ā
Lanceās Adamās apple bobbed thickly in his throat, and he finally looked up at Hunk. Ocean blue eyes were glimmering wetly with dewy tears. It upset him to speak about it just as much as it did Hunk to hear it, but Lance knew the importance of knowing.
Lance had been in the pods a lot.
Hunk grimaced. āWhat else.ā He breathed softly.
āYour Balmeran chef- Kruos- had to give you blood while they transported you back to the Atlas. Apparently Balmerans are the space equivalent of O-negative blood type. Who knew it would be the rock people?ā His laugh was awkward and forced. āYour heart stopped once during surgery, hermano. Do you remember any of it? They couldnāt sedate you for fear of you not waking up enough to go into the pod.ā
Hunk shook his head. āI donāt.ā
āSmall blessings, then.ā Lance sighed. āThey had to stitch you back together to put you into the pod. It, uh⦠The pods are miraculous things. Really, they are. It took it nearly four weeks, but it got your organs repaired, and your blood is back to mostly full volume again, and though youāre really, really pale still and kinda cold feeling, I think youāre okay⦠But it couldnāt heal everything.ā
And there was the kicker, right there.
There were some scars that not even an ocean storm could wash away.
āHow badā¦?ā He breathed, imagining how it might look. How low had it been? Across his ribs, his stomach, lower belly? Did it run from spine to spine, was it thick, ropy, would it affect how he movedā¦?
āIn comparison to the pictures of the actual wound, hermano, itās really not that bad.ā Lance shifted on his lap, and up to the zipper on the side of Hunkās suit. āDo you want to see?ā
āPlease.ā His fingers were like leaden ice cubes. He didnāt think he could pull down the zipper if he tried.
Lance nodded, and pulled down the zipper.
Hunkās chest was fine and clean. The cryo-pods had a unique quirk in where they sterilized anything and everything inside, so one always came out cleaner than a shower could get you. Below that, his stomach looked untouched. The dark skin was creamy and smooth, and Hunk didnāt see anything wrong with it.
Lance moved Hunkās suit to the side. āThis is the only remnants of it- itās⦠kinda bad ass, if you think about it.ā
It wasnāt really as big as Hunk thought it would be in the grand scheme of things. The scar was about as thick as his thumb in width, and slightly raised from where theyād had to pull the skin together. It followed his hip bone, where heād obviously been disemboweled at the lower belly, and moved up along his side towards his back. The scar was, in total, no more than five inches long, and probably about an inch and a half at the widest point.
It was the biggest scar he had.
Hunkās eyes closed, and his hands moved in a futile attempt to close his suit.
āHey, hey, itās okay.ā Lanceās hands fluttered, and he closed the suit up, before tugging Hunkās neck down into a hug. āHermano, shh, itās okay. Itās a scar. We can- I donāt know. We can do something. Makeup? I know it might get in the way, but you can still get your malofie, right?ā
Hunkās arms slowly looped around Lance. āIām not upset.ā He mumbles, eyes closing. āJust⦠tired. I was never going to get my malofie anyway- donāt like needles. Sā just a scar. Means I survived. Why should I be upsetā¦?ā
āIt doesnāt mean you canāt be upset though, Hunk. Or even scared.ā He reminded him gently. āItās okay to be upset.ā
āOkay.ā Hunk sighed. āOkay.ā His arms tightened briefly- and he felt a hitch in his breath that wasnāt there before. āLance? Can we stay here a little while? Iām cold.ā
Lance carded his fingers through the dark strands of the Samoan manās hair. āSĆ, Hunk. Un momento, and Iāll grab us a blanket, okay?ā
It had been a few days since Hekapoo had first entered Domino City. In that time she had gathered up as much information as she could. About the fight, the robots, and even a little of the end goal of them both.
From the sound of it, she was after a smaller blue robot whoās aesthetics were similar to a famous hero. Sonic the mutant hedgehog. At least, Hekapoo was pretty sure he was mutant. She really wasnāt sure, hero knowledge wasnāt her forte.
The other robot, an android, actually sounded far more familar. But without meeting him she couldnāt be sure. Finding the Android wouldnāt be a bad idea, but that wasnāt her current priority.
Two Embers, copies of herself, had burned out revealing thier memories over the past day or so. For the most part they revealed to her much the same information she already had. However one juicy bit of info, a lead to where the blue robot had gone, tip offs to where heās been recently seen, had Hekapoo gearing up to portal off to a new location. A new city. Beach City.
Sheād be leaving behind four Embers to continue searching Domino, with any luck it wonāt rain.
Just like that a hole in the fabric of space was opened. A few moments later a woman, short and clearly non-human, hops through and the hole, a portal, disappears.
"Jeeze.... Couldn't have made it any easier on me could they?"
Muttering to herself she looks on at the city she'd portaled herself to. Domino City, to be exact. Current location of a big name card tournament, as well as a large string of disappearances. It's hard to say if the tournament was still going strong after the incident, however. And that incident is why she was here.
The woman's name is Hekapoo. A member of a predigested and all powerful council of Dimensional Experts and Tamperers, and aside from forging the mystical tools known as Dimensional Scissors her job was more or less recon. The legwork normally passed off onto magical copies she makes of herself, this mission in particular required her full abilities.
This still didn't stop her from creating copies, Embers as she likes to call them, to make this a bit quicker. Within moments six exact replicas of the woman materialized. They had her memories and mindset up to the point they were created, so they didn't need ordered to bolt off into the city looking for clues or authority.
With a smile Hekapoo herself ran in, at speeds not achievable by normal humans. With any luck she'd find someone working for big o' Kaiba himself who can point her in the direction she'd need to go. The incident... a Robot Fight, not really the most unusual thing to happen in this world but enough to cause destruction to make news... no, if that'd had been all someone else could take care of it. No. The real reason she was needed in person, was an item one of the robots had possessed. It was her mission to find them, and seize and secure that item. A Chaos Emerald.
Hekapoo wasn't one for jewels and other sparkly knick-knacks, but the thought of such a powerful gem sent chills of anticipation down her spine. And apprehension, whatever mechanical baddie was toting it now had really done a number on the city. Still, she had a pretty solid plan. Once she caught up to wherever they've since gone.... Well, it'd be over in a flash!
Speaking of, she'd already made it to City Hall, skidding to a halt to take in the sight of the collateral damage.

Ā Alistair glanced up from the keyboard as a willowy green and white face snaked around the corner of the dusty, dilapidated doorframe.
Ā āAngel, what are you doing?ā Alistair asked, lowering his glasses as the Gardevoir glided into the broken down laboratory. āWhat part of āstay outside and watch for those goons in balaclavasā was confusing?ā
Ā <None of it,> Angel replied snippily, hollow telepathic voice echoing in his mind. <You said I should fall back if I spotted our friends on the shore and->
Ā Alistair stopped, glancing at the tablet that showed a security feed of the dock where his rental boat was moored. A flash of bright light lit up the screen for one moment, blinding Alistair in the dim room for a moment before an image of a flaming boat could be clearly seen sinking into the water.
Ā āAhhhhā¦crap, there goes my god damn deposit,ā Alistair sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. āUghhhhhhhhhh that was like a hundred and fifty buuuuuuuuuuuuucks.ā
Ā <You should have bought renterās insurance,> Angel sighed.
Ā āThatās a scam and you know it,ā Alistair said, turning back to the console.
Ā [ How fast can you suck up this drive, chief? ]Ā Alistair typed, waiting for a response as he fingered the balls on his belt.
Ā [ As fast as I can! Estimated download time is three hours, thirteen minutes, forty-two point three three three seconds! ]
Ā āWellā¦shit,ā Alistair sighed, pulling his belt off. āOkayā¦new plan. How many are there?ā
Ā <Two boats, three or four per craft,> Angel said as Alistair passed her a belt. <BS is getting antsy out there; ideas?>
Ā āMake sure we get what we came for,ā Alistair nodded, picking a few balls off the belt. āKeep your boyfriend; just in case.ā
Ā <Oh no; please, no, take him with you,> Angel sighed, shuddering at the ball foisted in her hands. <If he accidentally saves my life I will never hear the end of it.>
Ā āHe is your cross to bear; deal with it,ā Alistair said, jogging down the hallway. āProtect the duck!ā
Ā Charging down the broken down hallway as the rain streamed in through the punctured roof, Alistair peeked out the window to see a small series of flashlights heading up the beach accompanied by the sound of shouting from people who clearly had never heard of the word subtlety. Behind him a disgruntled whinnying chirp drew his attention, a pair of yellow eyes staring out at them from the darkness.
Ā āShh shh shh shh!āā Alistair said, holding a finger up to his lips. āChill; chill for like ten goddamn seconds. Go around the side of the building do a little dance; I got an idea.ā
Ā The eyes narrowed, disappearing with a clack of claws on the volcanic rock surrounding the dilapidated laboratory as Alistair took a deep breath, straightened his shirt and stepped around the side of the door.
Ā āEvening all!ā Alistair called down the beach as three flashlight beams immediately focused on him. āI seem to be a little lost; can someone point me to the Mossdeep Tourist Center?ā
That was a little excessive, Alistair thought to himself as he found his legs kicked out from underneath him, face missing the jagged volcanic rock by a scant few inches.
Ā āHey, mind the goddamn face, would you; I have literally no other redeeming qualities,ā Alistair grunted, being hauled to his feet as the apparent head of the little group looked him up and down. āSorry, is this your ruined shack?ā
Ā āYou have five seconds to tell us why youāre here before we start beating the reason out of you,ā The commander said, extending a collapsible nightstick. āWho are you with?ā
Ā āCurrently? Kinda between dates if you know what I-ā Alistair grunted as the tip of the nightstick jabbed into his stomach. āGodā¦damn it; I usually need a drink or three before Iām down to let people hit me with sticksā¦ā
Ā āCould he be a Looker?ā One of the men grumbled beneath his mask.
Ā āYou are all coming on very strong right now,ā Alistair snickered, eyes glancing towards the side of the shack with a small smirk.
Ā āWho else is with you?ā The commander demanded, shoving the nightstick under Alistairās chin.
Ā āJust a duck, a monkey, and my guardian angel,ā Alistair said, wincing as the man once again struck him in the stomach. āFuckā¦guess Iām skipping ab dayā¦ā
Ā āEnough of the BS!ā The commander demanded. āThereās no way youāre here by accident; who sent you? Who told you about this place?ā
Ā āā¦Iāmā¦Iām sorry did you say BS?ā Alistair asked. āBecause Iā¦think I heard you say BS.ā
Ā āWhat the hell are you talking about?ā The commander demanded. āYeah, we said weāve had enough of your BS!ā
Ā āYou havenāt even met my BS yet though,ā Alistair chimed in as the sound of hooves clattering on the stone could barely be heard over the rain. āYouāre about to though.ā
Ā āWhat the hell are you-ā Alistair leaned backwards as the commander suddenly flew about twenty feet through the air into the surf at the bottom of the slope. The headlights immediately whipped around, illuminating a massive, red insect who rounded on the remaining grunts with a shrieking roar, kicking and spinning and thrusting with the long horns extending from her head as Alistair scrambled backwards over the broken volcanic rock up the slope.
Ā āTwo and a half minutesā¦not bad,ā Alistair shrugged, pulling himself up as the final assailant was felled with a back kick to his head. About five people in black combat gear were lying on the ground in various states of agony, disorientation, and unconsciousness. āGood hustle BS.ā
Ā The Scolipede snorted, trotting over to her trainerās side as one of the grunts feebly reached for a radio. Alistairās foot came down hard on the radio as the man rolled over to look up at their former captive.
Ā āWhatā¦kind of nameā¦is BS?ā The man wheezed, holding his head.
Ā āBug Stallion says hello,ā Alistair said as the Scolipedeās hoof knocked into the side of the gruntās head. āWellā¦that was fun.ā
āTHEY WERE NICE ENOUGH TO LET US USE THEIR BOAT!ā
Ā The island disappeared behind him as Firewall chirped from his smart phone. A small pile of monitors slowed the speedboat down considerably but as long as they were back in Castelia by daybreak, he doubted they would run into any more trouble.
Ā āWhy didnāt I think of just grabbing the terminals before?ā Alistair sighed, glancing down at his tablet as Firewall began streaming, decrypting, and organizing the data he pulled from the labās computer. āWhat do you think?ā
Ā āWELL I THINK YOUāRE GONNA BE PLEASED AS PUNCH TO SEE THIS!ā Firewall chirped, bringing up a video on the tablet of the lab they were just at in better daysā¦barely better days. A team of scientists and technicians, all bearing the steel blue P logo were attempting to contain a fire while a shadowy creature was being shocked in the background.
Ā āBring me back to :24 and enlarge,ā Alistair said, biting his nails as the movie rewound. āCome onā¦come onā¦there!ā
Ā His wet finger mashed the pause button, turning on the overhead light so he could see better in the darkness. The image was hazy but the creature was unmistakable; purple, steel, cannon on the back.
Ā āGotcha,ā Alistair said, mouth splitting into a wide grin. āWell well wellā¦looks like the rumors were true.ā

Fawful sits in his Hide-out, in front of a large metal table covered in a white sheet and splattered with some green ooze. Fawful digs into a hole in the cloth, poking around with some sort of probe. He sticks the probe inside the hole. Smiling.
"Yes...Yes! This is it! This is the moment that Fawful has been waiting so long for! Oh, this will be like the golden syrup on the sundae of Fawful's Dreams!" Fawful than took out a remote control with a red button on it, and pressed down hard. Yet, nothing happened. Fawful looked around, to see if anything had changed. But no. Everything was the same. And he was furious.
"RAUGH!" Fawful threw his remote to the ground "IS SOMEONE KIDDING FAWFUL?! How was this not to be working!? AAAAUUGH!" Fawful kept screaming in anger, that was until, he heard something.
Fawful looked up in shock, he didn't know where the noise was coming from. That was until he looked at the table. Something under the sheet was moving.
Fawful looked amazed. The thing under the sheet was slowly getting up. The sheet fell off of it, to reveal a Shroob. But not just any Shroob. Instead of a Dark Purple, it was Sickly Green. It's fangs formed into a horrifying grin. And it's eyes were pure red, and swirled. This was no mere Shroob.
The Creature continued to chant those same words. Claws raised to the sky, continuously screaming.
Fawful than began to laugh. His cackle echoing throughout his hide-out. He had done it.
"Whyā¦The failingā¦" Fawful croaked in pain, nothing but a husk of his former self, lamenting over his loss. The two plumbers jumped back in fear, whereas Starlow simply yelled "What?! Youāre still at it?!" Whereas Fawful simply replied with a low, soft, and broken response. "Youā¦mustachesā¦withā¦whyā¦furyā¦wheneverā¦" Fawful was broken, hurt, destroyed and defeated. He failed again. And there was nothing left. No castle. No kingdom. Nothing. There was nothing left. Not even his sanity. He simply sat there, whimpering "Fawfulā¦Just wantedā¦some kingdom conqueringā¦Fawful triedā¦Fawful gave the 110 percentsā¦Fawful worked the overtimeā¦Fawful was the team playerā¦Fawful put in the hoursā¦Fawful got the hands dirtyā¦But every timeā¦Alwaysā¦The mustachesā¦arriveā¦Always in Fawfulās wayā¦Always always always alwaysā¦"
There was no point to go on anymore. No matter what he did, no matter where he would go, no matter what plan he would create. They were there. The Fink-Rats. The Plumbers. Red and Green. The Superstars. Mario & Luigi. He simply couldnāt win. No matter what. So he just sat there. Broken. Soon enough, Starlow than scolded āLook, give up already! Seriously, get over it.ā Fawful just stood there and sighed. āI have remorseā¦Fawful understandsā¦Fawful gives upā¦Fawful will disappear with no troublesā¦ā That was the only way to go. Just leave. If he couldnāt win now, he never could. There was no point to pestering the bros and their kingdom any longer. He would just have to leave, start anew, and forget his horrible, horrible past. It just kept going, and going, getting louder and louder. Fawful wanted it to stop until he realized. It was right. He had them right where he wants them. He could end it all. Right now. āSounds good.ā Starlow chimed āNo more evil, okay?ā Fawful than began to mutter āHere Fawful goesā¦The disappearingā¦Forever disappearingā¦ā
