Do you ever feel like the whole thing with Hans apparently being evil thrown in at the last minute just to make a plot twist? Because there were almost no connections to be made subtly(that I can remember)or blatantly, which was probably why so many people were surprised by it: it came out of nowhere and was probably thrown in just to build tension. That's just really my take on it, though. Thoughts?
Actually, it really was. Hans was never supposed to be the villain in the first place, he was only made such after Let It Go was written and JLee and her cronies decided Elsa would be a poor misunderstood woobie instead of the villain she was originally. And I believe in the scriptnotes (which are online somewhere), JLee admitted that they did not go back and add foreshadowing for Hans.
“They showed love in the wrong way in the movie. Love is predictable so don't marry someone within a day. Also you may be alone, sad, and you'll need someone to express feelings, not be feared and shut everyone out. Especially the one you love most.”
