As of DM, Chibi is 8 years old (though is 2 years behind in mental development)

and 3'3" short. It spun it's human body from silk and because that's very tiring, it settled on being short.

Chibi eats exactly 1 leaf a day, it likes cartoons, milk, Ryou and sleeping 15 hours a day. It can't read, it can't write, it can't do math and it runs a purrely deck, as well as dragon maids.

It can't even speak the Japanese language properly but it's a fast learner and has been copying Ryou ever since it hatched. Since it doesn't have a good speaking rhythm yet, it sometimes refers to itself as Cheeb (Chibi refers to itself in third person).

Chibi duels to extend its lifespan because silk moths have a very short life span of like 7-10 days.

Technically, it is an adult moth but look me dead in the eyes and tell me domestic silk moths look like they're anything other than fluffy critters with no brain cells in their head.

Chibi accidentally absorbed a spirit that Ryou accidentally called into his house, her name is Xiao and until Battle City she's not seen on screen but rather a second voice in Chibis head commenting on the events, which is never acknowledged.

Chibi likes:

Cartoons, milk, Ryou, sleeping, Anzu, Yugi, Jonouchi, Honda, Yami Marik, Xiao (Cheeb best friend!!) , cute things, Marik, Mai

Chibi dislikes:

Pegasus, mean people, lack of common sense, having it's nap interrupted, having it's favorite shows explained to it as if it didn't understand it

Trivia:

-due to a lack of silk, it couldn't produce it's heart properly which is why it can't run fast or a lot.

-it reappears in 5ds because of a time travel plot

-it refers to all Yugioh protags as Yu-kun

-Chibi has no fucking plot relevance but fuck y'all I love my moths

-oh yeah I have 3 more moth gijinkas

-when Chibi was a caterpillar (Cheebpillar), it wouldn't be able to finish the big mulberry leaves and fall asleep on them which is why as as a fully grown moth, it still has the habit of being sleepy after eating.

-Chibi is canonically autistic

-it calls Yami Bakura "bad kitty"

-it keeps its deck and various other objects (a water spray bottle, for instance) in the fluff around it's neck. No one knows just how much fucking space there is in that thing.

-Chibi first allowed Yugi and Anzu to pet it because it thought they were especially cute. Then Jonouchi was allowed to pet it and then sometime later Honda. (Chibi thought Jonouchi stunk a little)

-Chibi is fucking stinky (Ryou wash your fucking moth)

-Cheeb is Yami Bakuras arch nemesis

-it often meows (Chibi thinks that if it was an animal, it'd be a cat. Who's gonna tell em)

-Chibi can switch between it's humanoid and moth form, and when it's a moth it either sleep under furniture or vibes in Ryous sleeve.

-Ryou named Chibi. Bro has no creativity. (Ryou more or less becomes Chibis ward as of DSOD so naturally Chibis full name is Chibi Bakura the silk moth) (Sonic the hedgehog sound ass title)

-it also beat Seto Kaiba and has ongoing beef with him. Chibi is the reason Kaiba put up a "No moths allowed" Sign in front of the KC building. ("But that's unrealistic " Shut up Chibi knows the meta)

-Ryou picked up a cocoon outside thinking it was a cool surprise capsule thing and found moth. It transformed into a human shortly after he took it home and was like "😨". Sorry bud you gotta take care of a moth now.

-Chibi is fucking emo in 5ds

-Chibis DM outfit is literally just one of Ryous shirts which is A) way too big for Chibi and B) not even buttoned properly

->this goes for most of Chibis fits because most of them are recycled Ryou outfits, with the exception of DSOD. In 5ds Chibi wears Ryous millennium world arc drip minus the pants because Chibi never wears pants because it has built in shorts.

-Chibi has beef with Ryous fangirls. Unfortunately the beef is one sided because they think Chibi is adorable.

-its entire torso, shoulders and lower half of its legs are covered in fluff. And the tights are part of its body.

-Chibi thinks Ryou is its family, hence why it calls him Ryou-nii in the JP version. It also thinks Yugi is its uncle. (Bitch got trolled, both are literally just random fucking dudes)

Anyway! Enough about Cheeb, more about Domestic Silk Moths.

Domestic Silk Moths, scientifically known as Bombyx Mori, are moths of the family Bombidae. They were originally native to China from whence they spread to regions like Japan and India, and the like. Silk moths were kept in captivity and mass bred for their silk, and then boiled alive to make the cocoons silk easier to extract. the moths would normally need to crunch their way out of the cocoon, however due to evolution and the fact they were either cut out of the cocoon or boiled alive, they can’t crunch anymore as they don’t have mouths or stomachs, which is why they eat a lot as caterpillars (as adult moths they basically slowly starve to death, they only have a life span of 10 days or so). Damaged cocoon had less value and were used as stuffings.

They also can’t fly anymore or walk properly because of what humanity did to its species.

The initial eggs take about 14 days to hatch into larvae, which eat continuously. After they molt 4 times, they make their cocoons. The average cocoon takes 5 to 21 days to hatch so I assume it *used* to be the same for silk moths.

Silk moths have a wingspan of 3-5cm and the females are bulkier than the males since they carry eggs. Some may be born with the ability to lift off and stay airborne but sustained flight cannot be achieved as their bodies have become too heavy and big for their tiny wings to carry them.

As caterpillars they like to eat white mulberry leaves.

They’re completely harmless to humans and even friendly towards them (they sort of don’t have a choice since Silk moths are completely reliant on us).

It is advised to not touch their wings or antennas since they’re very delicate.

Their fur used to be more pigmented however due to the boiling their fur is now white.
