Day 1 of writing random prompts I find off the internet (I’m probably not going to write every single day cause I can’t hold myself accountable lolll)

Put your music on shuffle and write a fic inspired by the first and last lines of the song that plays.

Just some stuff that happened just as Elliot and Sunshine got snatched by Blake.

Sunshine sits staring at Blake, hands still tied at their back. 

“Walk me through the plan again,” they mumble. They were trying to spare time but that plan could only last them so long. “You,” he snarls, pointing,” are going put that special connection you have with Brachium, to use.”

Welcome to your life, they thought bitterly. They tug at their restraints and catch his eye again. 

“Mind loosening these?”

“No.”

What a fucking ray of sunshine. 

“I’m going to make a dream. Got it? So don’t try anything. There’s only so much a human can do against a dreamwalker.” They try not to roll their eyes.

And with a snap of his fingers, their eyelids droop. They fight the waves of sleep as it drags them under.

He made a forest, they think as they blink down at the dense canopy. It stretches below as they spot him pushing through the undergrowth. 

I’m not there, they think. He’s making this dream in my mind and forcing me to watch. I can’t stop any of this.  He stops suddenly and wavers. 

The trickling of water fills the back of their mind, a dark force of death come to Blake’s call. Brachium. 

“Run,” a voice whispers. They pull to grasp at that bond they knew so well, but feel it slipping from their fingers like a river stone. I can’t. 

And then, as if they were witnessing the world through the lens of a god, they watch as the fields flood- gets covered in dark water, black as death as it sweeps to cover everything Blake had made. 

They couldn’t stop anything, much less-

A gasping sound and they’re awake, blinking groggily in the dim light. 

“Do you care to tell me about how Death came into a dream that I. Fucking. Created?” He’s fuming and they can see it from the way his wet shirt seems to cling tighter around his torso. Heat radiated from him, to put it lightly. 

They hadn’t known Brachium could do that. Ever. 

He steps closer, dangerously close and clamps a hand down on their shoulder. “You knew. And you and your boyfriend won’t forget that.” He smiles and it’s almost sickening to look at. 

They can’t even bring themselves to beg as he leans down, eye to eye. 

“I will do whatever it takes to save someone that is very special to me. But not only is their life on the line but so is the future of unempowered people everywhere.”  Neither one of them says anything for a while, Sunshine’s brain spinning in circles. 

“Not only do I want a solution to predestined death, but I want death, for my own.”

Their brows furrow. 

“How do you plan on doing that? You can’t rule the world, Blake. Isn’t seeing and nearly talking to a fucking deathwalker enough?”
