I’ve been doing a lot of research recently on my chronic illness because I’ve been feeling worse recently. After reading multiple articles, I somehow feel even worse about my outlook than before? I knew there was no official treatment for it, but the more I looked, there’s no treatments at all. I have absolutely no way of feeling better. There’s no known cause of my illness and there’s no known treatments for it either. Some people report it just eventually going away after awhile, but I’ve been like this for what, three years now? I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease the beginning of my junior year of high school and no longer had the bacteria in me as of the summer going into my senior year. Shortly after I was told I had Post-Lyme Disease Syndrome (PLDS). After that, I had kind of repressed all of my symptoms and just pretended I was better than before? But in the last few months I feel like I’ve just been spiraling. And I moved to an entirely different state that has never even had a confirmed case of Lyme Disease, let alone PLDS so no doctors here know how to help me. I don’t know how to seek help when, according to my research, there’s absolutely nothing I can do to feel any better. Is this just how my life is going to be from now on? Sitting on a bus in so much pain that I’m almost in tears? Not being able to get to my classes because I’m so foggy-headed that I forget what day and time it is? That I forget things maybe 5 minutes after they’re told to me? How do I continue to live my life in a meaningful and productive way? These have all just been thoughts on my mind lately
