Chris and Armitage continued to casually stargaze together. They were often joined by Daniel, who liked being outside for any reason.
Armitage: "A blue jumpsuit, Chris? What poor soul did you murder for that?"
Chris: "My grades average 2.0 now. A "B" in Detroit terms."
Daniel: "Whoa! How come you are not in that super duper overachiever club of Professor Jacob? Poe is in and he struggles to maintain his Cs!"
Chris: "We aren't the kind of people Jacob is looking for."
Hard-working instead of naturally gifted, dependable, not flashy. And while each of the trio thought of himself as a good kid, they somehow always managed to be that in the wrong ways.
Meanwhile Gavin and Poe were troublemakers, but in an endearing manner. And Tina, Finn and Rose, who were neither trouble nor special, had mastered the art of becoming invisble to the teachers, parts of the background.
Daniel: "Well, his loss. If the school is on fire I won't carry his ass outside."
