Question!! Which of your obikins go to Pride and how do they celebrate? Like I cannot picture pretty bird obi-wan ever going to pride, but keeping up with the skywalker-kenobis? 100% go to pride every year.
honestly yeah pbatmb obi-wan probably has pride parades banned in his city. most homophobic of the obi-wans despite being very demonstrably pro homosexuality. often accused of homophobia by his critics, points to his longterm loving and emotionally healthy partner, anakin, as if that means anything lmaooo (mobi-wan finds them far too loud and joyful. makes his teeth hurt. cody's just thankful this means he doesn't have to watch them be very disgusting in very public places MORE often)
obi-wan from kuwsk never went to pride before meeting the skywalkers but now they go every year and it's very fun even though obi-wan bitches about glitter in his beard for the week after
firefighter au!obikin would go to pride - anakin is technically working cause he's a firefighter rented out to the city's pride celebration and he's taking it very seriously cause there are a lot of flammables present (that his obi-wan is around of course) but rock star obi-wan is having the time of his life and not taking anything seriously (the 501st fire department retweets a picture of rockstar obi-wan conked out in leather trousers and a boa on anakin's shoulder while anakin is in full uniform and being very serious and it goes viral)
playmaker au obikin would go to pride - or, like. playmaker obi-wan would go to pride but as some inventive punishment for playmaker anakin pissing him off. it's not actually a celebration of his identity or anything (but he went a couple of times as a teen for that reason though he was quick to wash off all the temporary tats and glitter before qui-gon could see) - anakin does something obi-wan doesn't like so obi-wan puts together the most risque outfit he can find and sneaks out and like. hangs with the bears section of the parade lmao. makes sure to post a photo on his instagram (one that doesn't show anyone else's faces but his ofc because he's not looking to have anyone killed)
smithsonian au obikin would go to pride but neither would have a great time cause it's not really their idea of fun (too loud, they would rather be at their respective work stations, it's too crowded, too hot outside, etc) but they're also competitive enough to pretend that they're having the MOST fun. way more fun than the other guy. i'm way more proud than him. so proud. this is SO fun (this continues even after they get together because neither one wants to admit they don't really like pride parades/festivals) (one of their coworkers has to stage an intervention to get them to admit to this)

Hello. I have serious business to discuss. I just went through your regency au and SHEIWISNDNEOEK wow what a fantastic ride amazing. I am particularly inclined though to your mob aus.
And I know we got a kind of Pbatmb abo thing but could you IMAGINE Playmaker as abo
Like that one thing where Obi-wan killed that guy, but nowâs heâs like having to explain why he tore someoneâs throat out.
lmaooo would the city survive an a/b/o playmaker verse tho i honestly dont think so & they're feral enough about each other without anything biological to blame baby đ its just good old fashioned manipulation and mental illness there
but ok ok i'll play
a playmaker au where anakin is an alpha and obi-wan is an omega probably follows the exact same beats, except when obi-wan volunteers/his father voluntells him this is his undercover mission, a bunch of the other cops are like what the fuck are you doing sending your omega son into a situation where you're asking him to basically seduce and maybe even mate a low-level mobster for the sake of bringing down anakin skywalker. and qui-gon is like. yeah. and so of course obi-wan is like yeah!! i'm willing to do this >:( i want to.
and he's still a waiter at the club anakin's mob frequents for a singular night that ends with him flat out on his back on anakin skywalker's couch (not in a sexy way)
(cause rex finds some guy with a lot of fight in him and thinks that his boss likes them plucky and then, hey, it's a bonus that the boy's an omega but he's not thinking anything at all about the kids taking a shine to him.)
(the kids take a shine to him)
anakin would probably on principle not honor refuse to actually bite and mate ben/obi-wan while he's pretending to be someone else - obi-wan is at first incredibly relieved about this because he doesn't want to have any sort of bond with the mob boss, but steadily it becomes something he obsesses over. why won't he bite me. why am i allowed to watch over his children and attend his meetings and sit in his lap and i even ripped a fellow officer's throat out with my teeth because of pure instinct but he still won't mate me. why am i not enough and what am i doing wrong, etc etc
culminating in obi-wan seducing maul to keep him quiet about obi-wan being a rat and offering up his own neck to entice him & then running when anakin catches him at it - in this version, obi-wan wouldn't make it back to his apartment after so thoroughly stepping all over anakin's instincts like that
fuck he wouldn't even make it down the stairs to the door leading to the restaurant. maul can be dealt with later. anakin has an omega to finally claim, if only to save him from his own stupidity
In the latest Playmaker snippet, is Vader going from "terrible night! mouse in real trouble >:(" to "awesome night! mouse possesses survival instincts of lemming AND has daddy issues, 10/10, no notes, universe" while Ahsoka is just like, "%)@(#$%@#()$ in the corner"
LOL!! In the playmaker ficlet, Vader is probably doing exactly like that
it goes from absolutely untenable (little mouse snuck out and is now dressed risque and heâs not secured firmly next to Vader so other people are touching him because they donât realize Vader owns that little mouse?? unbelievable. awful)
to a situation that actually works very well in Vaderâs interest because one, little mouseâs daddy issues are daddy issuing and also Vader gets the idea to punish the boy by placing him actually on the stage as a dancer instead of in the crowd as a server - he can wear pretty things and he can perform for Vader and everyone can see and no one can touch him đ itâs perfect. Ben will warm up to the idea. After all, anakin will begin conducting a lot more business in this club and Ben seems to like it when he can eavesdrop on anakinâs business
(Meanwhile ahsoka is actually losing her mind because sheâs 89% sure that Vader understands that his new little pet project is a rat who could bring down his entire mob organization. But also. Sheâs like 11% unsure about this)
**technically still september for at least a few people!!
to begin with, i am really sorry this is so much later than usual! i started school again and it's been so weird trying to remember how to do this that i've been sorta way more swamped than i realized was possible!
the ko-fi fic for september is set in the playmaker au (which is also a surprise to me, but pairs nicely with the october ko-fi fic which will be set in the pbatmb verse because it's all nice and spooky murdery octobery)
here is a short snippet:
When Anakin speaks, his voice is dark and low. All Vader. âI thought I left you at home, little mouse.â
Obi-Wan opens his mouth to reply, but the thumb presses harder, right on his windpipe and all he can manage is a breathless, âOops.â
Vaderâs thick eyebrows raise and his hand moves away from his throat, up to grasp at his jaw. He turns his face this way and that, as if heâs something to be studied. Figured out. Dissected.Â
Obi-Wan breathes shallowly, maintaining eye contact with the wolf in wolfâs clothing in front of him. This is important, he reminds himself. Whateverâs in his system is hard to convince. Nothing is important and everything warps and spasms around them in waves. It makes it feel as if nothing in the world is real. Nothing save for him and Anakin. And Ben. Obi-Wan, Ben, Anakin, Vader.Â
âI never technically quit,â he says when Anakinâs touch softens enough to allow him to speak. âSylvie needed someone to cover her shift. Her baby is sick.â
thank you all for your patience with me this month and i'm sorry again it took so long to post! as a brief reminder or fyi, all the fics on my ko-fi are set to 'viewable to monthly supporters only'. i upload a ficlet once a month (at least) to that platform for those monthly supporters to read, so if you'd like to read some mermaid shenanigans, some werewolf shenanigans, some (checks cards) anakitty shenanigans, consider checking it out!
For whenever you feel in the playmaker writing mood, I would love to read the scene where Anakin comes home to baby Ray and is just like what. what.
here you go!!! 2.5k of playmaker au, specifically anakin coming home to find that obi-wan has stolen a baby from a grocery store
(warnings: playmaker anakin? specifically playmaker anakin about babies?)
(2.5k)
When Anakin opens the door to his house to the ear-splitting sound of a baby crying, he almost closes it once more to check that he has the correct place. But of course he does. No one elseâs entryway could possibly be this messy.Â
Luke and Leiaâs shoes are thrown in a hectic pile by the doormat, Lukeâs football balanced precariously on the toes of his cleats. Leiaâs school bag has been discarded on the short bench Obi-Wan had wheedled one of Anakinâs men into installing, built into the wall.Â
Itâs definitely Anakinâs house; over the wailing of the strange baby, he can hear his own babyâs low murmurs. Frozen as he is with the door half open and half closed, he can even hear the distinct whine of Lukeâs voice.
His eyebrows furrow; he steps forward, firmly into the house, and shuts the door behind him. His jacket has barely cleared his shoulders before the pattering of little feet greet him.
âMake him give it back!â Leiaâs voice shrieks out. Itâs a particularly grating sound, one that Anakin hasnât heard for several years and absolutely has not missed.
He closes his eyes and intentionally hangs his gun holster on the hook next to his jacket. âWhat did Luke take, baby?â
âNothing!â Luke cries. He sounds just as distraught as his sister. Anakin exhales slowly through his nose before turning around and crouching down. One twin immediately comes within the circle of his arms. The other hangs back, looking distrustful.
Which is probably why Leia will be the one to inherit his criminal empire when itâs time.Â
âWhat did you take, Luke?â he asks his son, hefting him up into the air as he stands. âAnd whose fucking baby is that screaming?â
Thereâs muted movement from the other end of the long entrance hallway, and then Obi-Wan Kenobi rounds the corner, arms full of a baby swaddled in a yellow blanket. Its face is red from crying, but itâs seemingly more content now. A pacifier has been stuck in its mouth at least.
âYours,â Obi-Wan says primly, adjusting his hold on the baby.
Anakin squints at him and then down at the child. âWell thatâs a fucking lie, sweetheart,â he says, taking a cautious step forward. Leia skitters to duck behind his leg.
Smart girl. If Obi-Wan thinksâwhat, that Anakin slept with a woman a year ago while on a business tripâwho knows what the boy is capable of? After all, Obi-Wan values loyalty above all else.Â
âCause I donât remember anyone else in my bed but you,â he adds, eyes examining the play of shadows and emotions across Obi-Wanâs face. The other manâs hair is up in a loose bun. Heâs wearing the remnants of a respectable suit. He doesnât look like a boy who is planning to cut his losses and run out of Coruscant tonight.
Not that heâd get far, of course, but he certainly doesnât look like a man who is planning to try.Â
âIf people are only yours by blood, does that mean Iâm free to go?â Obi-Wan replies archly, turning his back to Anakin and marching into their living room.Â
Anakin watches him go, speechless.Â
He crouches down on the ground again and carefully places his son back onto the floor. âLuke, baby, Leia,â he says, unable to take his eyes off of the empty doorway. âGo upstairs.â
âMake him give it back, Daddy,â Leia says, tugging on the edge of his shirt. âI donât like it.â
âMhm,â Anakin replies. From what heâs seen so far, he isnât much of a fan either. âGo.â
They go, and Anakin allows himself a few moments to stare after them consideringly. One day, eventually, he will need them to be something more than well-trained puppies. He will need them to be something even more than attack dogs.
But that is a conundrum for a later day. Now, he stands on his feet and follows after his boy, who he can still hear gently murmuring in the living room.Â
He leans against the doorway. Obi-Wan does not look as if he is going to throw anything at him or harm him bodily in any sort of way, but one can never be too sure with him. Itâs part of the reason Anakin finds him so fascinating still after all these years.
But then, his little mouse has never so far stooped to physical violence. Thatâs more of Anakinâs beast.
âItâs not mine,â he says. Itâs best to state these things clearly. âI want it out of the house. Itâs upsetting the children.â
Obi-Wan does not look up from the baby in his arms. Its eyes are closed now, expression lax and trusting. The pacifier is still in its mouth. âSheâs mine,â he murmurs, thumb rubbing over the skin of its cheek.
Anakin stills, half a step forward.
Itâs two offenses in one blow. Obi-Wanâs attention is solidly on something not Anakin, when Anakin is speaking so directly to him. And if Obi-Wan says the baby is his, then heâs implying that he slept with some woman a year ago during one of Anakinâs business trips.
The image the sentence puts into his head has Vader roaring to the surface of his mind between one blink and the next. âIf you think I would not hurt an infant for the crime of representing a past dalliance of yours, you are gravely mistaken,â he warns, hand clenching into a fist at his side. âSo speak carefully, little mouse.â
âMonster,â Obi-Wan says, keeping his tone light. Keeping his eyes away from Vaderâs face. He carefully raises the baby up and tilts his head down until he can rub his nose ever so gently against the babyâs own tiny nose.
âYes,â Vader says stiffly. âSo get rid of it or I will.â
Obi-Wan finally looks up at him. His eyes are blue steel.
Fuck, Vader hasnât seen him look this stubborn about anything since he was tried in criminal court for the murder of Savage Oppress.
This more than anything gives Anakin pause. âWhat.â
Obi-Wan raises to his feet and deposits the baby into a crib a few feet away. How had Anakin missed the fucking crib? When did Obi-Wan have the time to find a fucking crib?
âSheâs our baby,â Obi-Wan says, running his hand along the edge of the crib. His head comes up and he gives Anakin a hard stare as if daring him to disagree. âSheâs ours or sheâs mine.â
There it is.
âYouâre handing out ultimatums like that now, sweetheart?â Vader asks, stepping into the room and prowling towards his husband. âThink thatâs smart, little mouse? Think you can threaten me like that? Think you can do that with no punishment?â
âYeah,â Obi-Wan murmurs. His voice is rough. He moves to the outside of the crib, hands grasping the edges and body turned to face Vader as he approaches. âBecause Iâm serious, Anakin. Iâm not going to give her away. I want her. Youâre going to let me have her.â
âAnd its parents?â Anakin asks, boxing Obi-Wan in against the crib. âIts actual parents?â
âSheâs adopted.â
âDid you steal it from an orphanage, Obi-Wan?â Anakinâs eyebrows fly up at the very idea. He still has to coax his little mouse into doing things of even a slight criminal nature half the time. His little mouse hates sitting on Anakinâs lap during his meetings, hates all the trappings and police tape that comes with being a mob wife.
Itâs his past. Itâs his sheriff father. Itâs the talons of Qui-Gon Jinnâs ghost still sunk deep into his soul. Itâs all of that shit, and despite it all, Anakin loves him. As much as a man like him, a man like Vader can love.
Obi-Wanâs flash away for a second. Itâs an admittance of guilt. His cheeks begin to flush red.
âNo,â he says and hesitates, pink mouth torn open. Anakinâs face breaks into the beginnings of a smile. His hands fall to rest on his waist. Whatâs going to come out of Obi-Wanâs mouth next will probably be the best confession heâs heard all day. âI stole her from her stroller.â
Anakinâs mouth falls open.Â
âExcuse me?â
Obi-Wanâs chin juts up as he frowns at Anakin. âI stole her from her stroller. Her parents left her unattended. AndâI wanted her.â
He isnât sure if his eyebrows will ever lower. âYou wanted her.â
âI wanted a baby,â Obi-Wan says very clearly. âThe twins are old and they hate me now. I wanted a baby again.â
âThe twins are not old,â Anakin replies automatically. âTheyâre ten. Theyâre children.â
His little mouseâs lips stay curled in a stubborn moue of defiance.Â
âThey donât hate you,â he adds. âThey adore you, baby. You know that. What they hate is that thing,â his hand gestures over Obi-Wan to encompass the crib and the baby. âLeia begged me to make you give it back.â
âOh and how would that go?â Obi-Wan sniffs, looking haughtily down his nose at Anakin, as if he werenât the one who just stole a fucking baby in broad daylight. âOh, so sorry, I didnât mean to take your baby, I just tripped and fell and it landed in my grocery cart by accident.â
âYou stole a baby from a grocery store?âÂ
But Obi-Wanâs eyes are narrowed in consideration and a second later, heâs changing tactics. His hands slip from their defensive position on the cribâs edge, run up the length of Anakinâs arms to rest on the sides of his neck. His eyes go half-lidded. His mouth gets all glistening and wet. âDaddy,â he says.
âNo,â Anakin says. âYou canât fuck your way into a baby, Obi-Wanââ
âI thought thatâs how most couples got a baby,â Obi-Wan points out.
âYou canât banter your way into a baby either, fuck, Obi-Wanââ
âI can,â his boy says confidentally, pushing up against Anakinâs hips. âBecause I really want a baby. And I already found a baby. Her name is Rey.â
âNo, donât name it, youâll get attached to itââ
âI love you,â Obi-Wan murmurs. He pushes forward and stands up on his toes so that he can rub his nose along the line of Anakinâs jaw. âI want to raise a child with you. Just you and me, sheâll never know another parent. Donât you want to raise a baby with someone you love? Someone you trust? Youâll never have to kill me. You know I love youâevery part of you.â
Unlike your first wife, goes unsaid. Unlike the mother of your children.
It doesnât go unheard.
âObi-Wan,â Anakin groans, but he tightens his grip on the boyâs waist. âYou stole a baby.â
âI murdered a good man for you,â he murmurs, dragging his lips over his. âI murdered a bad man for the twins. I stole a baby for us. Look what youâve made me. Look what youâve turned me into, darling.â
Anakin bites back another groan. His little mouse plays dirty now that Anakinâs taught him how. Or maybe thatâs always been a part of him. Maybe that ruthless streak, that cunning brutality has always been there; maybe thatâs what drew him to the undercover detective in the first place.
âDid you kill the parents at least?â Anakin asks, eyes falling closed. He cannot believe the words coming out of his mouth.
He cannot believe how easily he gave into those fucking blue eyes.Â
âThatâs your job,â Obi-Wan tells him, pressing a kiss to his lips. For a reward.
âDid you mock up the paperwork to make it look like a legal adoption?â
âAlso your job,â Obi-Wan says again, brushing another kiss to Anakinâs face. Anakinâs hand grips the back of Obi-Wanâs hair, holding him close and in place.
âObi-WanâŠâ
âI told the twins though,â Obi-Wan says quickly. He hooks his leg around the back of Anakinâs calf, winding his arms solidly around his neck.
âYeah?â Anakin murmurs, letting his other hand trail down over the small of his back. âHowâd they take that, baby?â
Obi-Wan is silent.Â
âYeah,â Anakin says. âThatâs what I thought.â
Sharing their Obi-Wanâs attention? Itâs bad enough they have to split it with each other and Anakin. Now thereâs an entirely new thing demanding Obi-Wanâs time. His attention. His arms.
Anakin scowls automatically, just thinking about it.
âTheyâll get used to her,â Obi-Wan says. His hands tighten on the back of Anakinâs neck. âTheyâre growing up. They donât need me as much anymore.â His eyes are wet and big when he looks up at Anakin. Heâs almost too tall to pull the move off anymore. âI justâŠI want to be needed, Ani. Youâve gotten me spoiled on the feeling. And IâI canât go back to the other way.â
âBaby, of course we need you,â Anakin says, using his grip on Obi-Wanâs lower back to push him pointedly up against his covered cock.
Obi-Wan sighs into the kiss Anakin pushes on his mouth, and when he pulls back, he looks so fucking despondent that Anakinâs patience for anything but wiping that look from his little mouseâs face evaporates.
âStop it,â he commands, thumbing at the skin beneath Obi-Wanâs eye rather roughly. âStop it, weâre keeping it. Fine. Weâre keeping it.â
âAnd youâll talk to the twins?â Obi-Wanâs voice wavers. Thereâs at least a thirty percent chance itâs genuine emotion. âTell them that sheâs family? And that means they must protect her? Care for her even if they donât love her?â
Anakinâs eyebrows shoot up. Even though heâs been dead three years, Qui-Gon Jinnâs ghost seems to haunt half of Obi-Wanâs deeply rooted ideas and values.Â
âIâll get Rex and Ahsoka to start on the papers,â Anakin mutters, pulling away reluctantly from his husbandâs all too soft and willing bodyânow that heâs gotten his way.
The babyâRey, Anakin supposesâbegins to whine once more.
Immediately, instinctively almost, Obi-Wan flips himself around so that heâs facing the crib, peering into and reaching down.
Out of curiosity, Anakin slots himself up against his back, unable to resist the slightest roll of his hips.
The baby blinks up at him. Her face is all squishy and red. Her eyes are clear, blue still, though Leiaâs eyes were blue when she was born. Reyâs fingers dance in the air as she reaches for Obi-Wan plaintatively.Â
The twins are not going to be happy.
But Obi-Wan is. Heâs incandescent as he allows her to wrap her tiny fingers around his index finger.
âDoes she at least have red hair?â Anakin murmurs, fairly plaintative himself. âItâll be easier to trick myself into loving her if she looks like you.â
âSheâs mine,â Obi-Wan replies, looking back at him slightly, hand still tangled with the infantâs. âYouâll love her.â

omg from this prompt list, kisses to distract from the au where all the kisses are basically to deceive and to distract???? hell yes!!!
so i couldn't pick which kiss i wanted and then i remembered i made a playmaker post once about how vos is probably sent undercover/ends up at anakin's table and obi-wan freaks out and corners him and they're found and its so suspicious that they would be so close talking in a secret corner that before they're found, vos kisses obi-wan so that people will just think that they're horny only for vos to then die because That's Anakin's Little Mouse
so this is that....except a little different cause obi-wan's daddy issues are Daddying rn
(2.6k) (cw: a nonconsensual kiss. but also. like. murder???)
Obi-Wan can feel his heart beating. Itâs so loud in his mind that he can barely hear what Vader is saying, and heâs sitting in the manâs lap, face tucked up beneath his chin.
He canât remember a time heâs felt more exposed, not even the very first time Vaderâs hands had found his waist and pulled him into his lap in front of half his highest ranking men.Â
In the intervening weeks, itâs even beenâwell. Itâs become ratherâŠcomfortable. If he doesnât think of all the reasons it isnât.Â
Perched on Anakinâs thighs, one arm wrapped around his shoulders and the other held to his lap, he can press his face up against the manâs hair. He can close his eyes and commit himself wholly to listening to the men and women around him talk. Talk of shipments and delays, money owed, lives taken in payment. Obi-Wan can memorize everything and he can do it from the throne of the very mob his department has tasked him with bringing down. He can memorize it all and spend the moments in between pressing kisses to the tendons of Anakinâs neck, trailing his fingers along the in-seam of his suit pants, rubbing at the mob bossâ shoulder with the palm of his other hand.
Becauseâbecause thatâs what the mission instructs that he do. Heâs supposed to gather intel, gather evidence. And heâs supposed to do it without Anakin realizing that thereâs a rat wrapped around his heart. The kissesâthe kisses help. Distract him.
And it feels good. To kiss him.
To tease him into fucking him up against the wall the second they get somewhere private. To coax him into such violent need he dismisses his men and has Obi-Wan right where theyâre sitting.Â
It feels good, to be so desired that itâs uncontrollable. To be so desired that the desire must be dealt with, must be whittled down simply by the act of having. Of taking.
Obi-Wan doesnât feel guilty about how good it feels. It should feel good to be touched. It should be some sort of bonus to the undercover mission that it is sometimes him whose hands shake with the desire to be on Anakinâs skin. It is not something he needs to feel guilty about.
It is not something his father needs to know about either, the way that the son he raised turns into a slut the moment a criminal gets between his thighs.
And luckily enough, right now, Obi-Wan is the sole decider of what Qui-Gon Jinn gets to know. Thatâs the nature of being the only rat to have lived this long in the Skywalker mob. Thatâs the nature of being the only rat. Obi-Wan gets to decide what he tells his team and what he leaves out of their quick and hurried meetings when Obi-Wanâs supposed to be on a run.
Butâbut he was supposed to be the only rat.
He was not supposed to look across the long table laden with food that Anakin uses for his mob meetings and see a face he recognized.Â
Obi-Wanâs head is swimming, and his heart is pounding so loudly in his ears that Anakin must be able to hear it too. That must be why he adjusts his grip on him, dragging him further into his arms as if that will make him feel safer.
All it does is drag the hem of his shorts further up his thigh, exposing the lace end of the stockings heâs wearing. All it does is tug the droopy material of his shirt off his shoulderârevealing the strappy red lace of the bralette beneath.
It has happened beforeâhell, Obi-Wan has dressed like this in front of these men for the express purpose of this happening, of his outfit revealing what lies beneath while he can feign ignorance. Nothing gets Anakinâs hands on him faster than other men seeing what he thinks is only his.
What is only his.
He came tonight wearing the brightest colors of pretty things he owned in order for this to happen because it has been far too long since Anakin last snapped. He has been far too put together lately, far too...distant.
It makes Obi-Wanâs chest tight with anxiety. He has not yet been able to figure out what attracted the mob boss to him in the first place, and heâs spent the last several days wondering if itâs gone. If heâs about to be tossed to the side, ripped out of Anakinâs bed with the same ease he was granted entry.
Orâmaybe worse, what if Anakin has made him as a rat? What if heâs to be killed?
What if his father knows that and he thought to send in Obi-Wanâs replacement before he can die? It would be less suspicious, wouldnât it?Â
No. Obi-Wan is being paranoid. Too paranoid. Even if he were to lose Anakinâs attention, he has the twins wrapped around his thumb. Anakin cannot kill him, his children would not stand for it.Â
Andâit would give him time to figure out what he did wrong, what made Anakinâs eyes stray. He could be better. Figure out how to do better, be what he needed.
For the sake of the mission.
AndâŠthere would be no way for his father to catch wind of the mob realizing thereâs a rat before Obi-Wan knows.Â
So the fact that Quinlan Vos is sitting close to the foot of the tableâŠthat heâs here, in this room, as a ranking member of Anakinâs mobâŠ.
That must mean that his father does not trust him to be doing his job. That Obi-Wanâs performance has disappointed him somehow, that he hasnât been enough. He has not given them the information that they need and so his father has found a replacement.
And now the man who used to help Obi-Wan sort his fatherâs highlighters by color and size is staring at him from down the table, looking at the lines of his lingerie as he sits on the lap of the most dangerous mob boss in the city.
âWell,â Anakin says, tossing his napkin onto his empty plate. âLetâs break so that they can clean up this mess. And thenâto business, men.â
The words are met with the thud and scrape of twenty or thirty chairs pushing back from their seats as the owners vacate them obediently. Obi-Wan, just as obedient, stays still. Anakinâs hand has clasped around the back of his neck, keeping him in position.Â
âYouâre shaking, little mouse,â the mob boss murmurs.
âItâs cold,â Obi-Wan replies automatically, turning his face into his neck. He presses the faintest of kisses there and thinks about ripping the manâs throat open with his teeth, ending all of his problems now.Â
âAw, baby, but you look so pretty like this,â Anakin says, ghosting his hand up the outside of his thigh and resting it just beneath the hem of his shorts. Then, his tone changes, growing lower, darker. Vader. âThe men couldnât look away.â
Obi-Wan tries to draw a breath, but it stalls out in his chest. He stills, and then immediately tries to pretend that he hasnât, that his thoughts have flown to Vos, who had been just as surprised to see him in Anakinâs lap as Obi-Wan had been to see him at Anakinâs table.Â
âHm?â Vader continues, as if Obi-Wan has spoken.
âI didnât notice,â Obi-Wan finally says, sitting back so he can look fully into Vaderâs eyes. âAll I was looking at was you.â
Theyâre different from Anakinâs, Vaderâs eyes. He would include this in his reports if he could figure out a way to say it that doesnât make him sound insane. Itâs been a long-held theory, that Anakin Skywalker isnât always just Anakin Skywalker, but no oneâs ever been able to have irrefutable proof.
But looking into Vaderâs eyes, Obi-Wan knows. Knows itâs Vader who is looking back. Anakin is a dangerous man all on his own, but VaderâŠVader is another beast entirely.
One that Obi-Wan isnât prepared to deal with right now. Not when he is so on edge. When Vos is here. At Anakinâs restaurant. At his table.
Does Obi-Wanâs father really think he has failed so entirely? Does he really think he needs to be replaced? Needs support?
âI need to stretch my legs,â Obi-Wan says, pushing away from Vaderâs chest. âI heard you and Ahsoka talking over it, I know this meeting will be a long one.â
âMy, what big ears you have, little mouse,â Vader says silkily, even as he drops his hands and leans back in his chair. The dismissal is clear; Obi-Wan is being given what he wants.
He gets several steps away before he looks back at Anakin, hands tightening into fists and releasing.Â
The man is watching him go, wine glass raised in front of his lips. He hasnât closed his legs yet, sprawling out on his chair like itâs a throne.
And Obi-Wan isâtorn. He needs to track down Vos. He needs to find a place to talk with him.Â
But he needsâhe needs to stay here, with Anakin. He needs to turn back around and press himself up against Anakinâs chest once more, spread himself over him and make him feel good. So good that Anakin will not kill him nor tell him to leave and kill him all the same.
The shame and guilt that come on the heels of that thought are strong enough to force him to look away, force him out of the room.
He doesnât get far.
A hand wraps around his arm and pulls him aside almost as soon as heâs exited the wide main room of the second floor of Anakinâs restaurant.
Obi-Wan makes an automatic, furious sound, but the hold on his arm only tightens as heâs pulled further into a dark and quiet alcove, mostly shielded by a marbled statue.
âWhat the hell are you doing,â the man who has grabbed Obi-Wan whispers furiously, and Obi-Wan goes almost boneless with relief. Oh, thank God itâs Vos.
âMe? What are you doingââ he turns around to face him fully, as much as the tight space can allow. âDid my father send you?â
In the shadows of the alcove, Obi-Wan can barely see Vos roll his eyes. âProbably in his mind, yeah, he did. I got back from one undercover mission, got sent the contacts for another almost immediately, wound up here, where his precious sonâs whorââ
âWhat does that meanââ
âAnd he should have, Jesus, Kenobi! They told me you were making nice with the mob, wait until they hear youâre grinding up on Vader during his business meetings, what the fuckâ-â
âNo!â Obi-Wan doesnât mean to say it so loudly or so vehemently, but he canât. Qui-Gon was never supposed to know, no one was supposed to know, and now they will, and maybe his father will pull him off the case, can he do that? Would he try? If he thought Obi-Wan was doing a bad enough job, he would. He would take him away, get Detective Secura to arrest him next time they meet for information, it wouldnât blow his cover, but it would take him away fromâ
From Anakin.
Obi-Wan canât let that happen.
He hears footsteps, pointed and loud, coming down the hallway toward them. The break must nearing over, itâll be time to get back to the real meat of the meeting, the actual mob business now, and then Obi-Wan wonât see Vos again. No way Anakin would let him spend a moment alone with another manâit would look suspicious anyway, if Ben knew this random mobster. Two rats getting cozy under the same roof, it doesnât look good.
Iâm sorry, he thinks and he knows itâs not good enough but the guilt does not drown out the need burning in his chest. The desire that cannot be controlled.
In the next moment, heâs pushing Vos up against the wall of the alcove, forcing him back with a grunt thatâs loud enough that the footsteps outside pause.
Turn.
Just as Obi-Wan presses his lips against Vosâ, pulling his own shirt down to look dissheveled. Messy. Like someone has been running their hands over his clothes.
âOh, now thatâs something Vader will want to know about,â Ahsoka Tano says. Obi-Wan rips himself away almost as fast as he pushed himself into Vosâ space.
It isnât an act when he rubs the back of his hand over his lips. Heâd kissed Vos mid-word, gotten the manâs spit in his mouth. He doesnât like the taste, wishes it was Anakinâs.
âTano,â he says. âJust making friends.â
Tanoâs eyebrows fly up further than Obi-Wanâs ever seen them. âYou get all your friends killed, Ben?â
Vos moves to stand beside him, shoulder to shoulder, and the guilt and shame slam into Obi-Wan so suddenly that he almost rocks back from the blow. Vos is eight years older than him; was just fresh from the academy when Obi-Wan was still just a kid left to twiddle his thumbs at the police station waiting for his father to take him home. Heâd gotten him take-out before. Coffee. Water. Little games to play with.
And Obi-Wan has gotten him killed.
âA little kiss wonât kill me,â Vos says, clapping a hand to Obi-Wanâs shoulder. Thereâs a note of bravado in his voice.
âNot quickly,â Tano promises. She raises her hand, snaps it when Obi-Wan doesnât exit as quickly as she wants. âCome on, Benny. Letâs get you back to daddy.â
âAhsoka,â Obi-Wan says, taking a shaking step forward. All he can think about suddenly is Vos, a decade younger and relegated to a shitty desk in the back of the station first year out of the academy, shoes up on his files, biology flashcards in his hands as he ran Obi-Wan through the questions.
What has he done?
What has he done?
âPlease,â he finally says, stumbling out of the alcove, and when his voice wavers, heâs not faking it. What has he done? He has gotten Vos killedâand for what? Why had he kissed him? He could haveâhe could have talked to him, he could have begged. He could have explained the situation, why did he have toâ
Because there is nothing Obi-Wan can say that will make Tano hold her tongue.
And there is nothing Obi-Wan can do to stay Anakinâs hands. He has murdered people for less. Perhaps this time heâll murder Obi-Wan too, that way Obi-Wan will not have to live too long with the weight of this guilt.
âLadies first,â Tano says as she opens the door back into the room. Itâs buzzing with the sound of other peopleâs voices, the movement of them as they find their seats once more.
Obi-Wan walks forward and Anakinâs eyes snap to him immediately. Theyâre dark and narrowed, as if he already knows more than he likes.
The walk has never been longer to get to Anakinâs side once more.Â
Heâs pulled to stand in between Anakinâs spread thighs, the manâs hands falling to his waist and pulling him in, splaying out across his hips.
âMm,â the mobster murmurs, and Obi-Wanâs legs are so shaky that he has to clamber up onto his lap just to avoid falling apart then and there. What has he done. What has he done?
âYou smell different, baby,â Anakin says. âWhat have you been doing?â
Obi-Wan wonders suddenly, wildly, if he can smell his fear. If he could see it in his eyes as he approached.
âMaking friends,â Tano reports as she drops into the chair next to them. âTongue first.â
Anakinâs hands still and then tighten. When he speaks, his voice is low and deep and all Vader. âIs that right, little mouse?â
And Obi-Wanâthere is nothing Obi-Wan can do save for letting the guilt kill him.
So Obi-Wan nods. He nods and raises Vader's chin with his hand, forcing him to look at him. "I told you I was cold," he said as if he'd been so cold he found another man's body to keep him warm in the minutes he was away from Anakin.
Anakin's eyes are like pieces of ice. There's no warmth in them, but there's a glowing light of something that looks a lot like hunger. Fascination.
It's the same way he looked at him when he first saw him. As if he were intrigued.
The expression makes something that has been wound tight these last few weeks dissolve into nothing. Anakin's eyes promise that there will be no more distance between them. That he has not grown so tired of him that he will be discarded with next week's recycling.
And despite the guilt, the worry, the shame that's burning Obi-Wan's insides to ash, that look in Anakin's eyes warms him to the core.
Taylor Swift wrote Fresh Out the Slammer for Playmaker Obikin
âNow pretty baby Iâm running straight home to you / Fresh out the slammer I know who my first call will be tooâ
Everytime i hear it I think about how badly Obi wan must have wanted to go straight home and then he gets ânapped by his dad.
honestly itâs all playmaker anakinâs fault that he didnât have someone stationed outside obi-wanâs prison at all hours of every day of his sentence. He should have known that Qui-Gon would try to be all sneaky about this and kidnap his own son to keep him away from anakin
the one big time that anakin lost to qui-gon and itâs really just a miracle that he didnât immediately kill qui-gon as soon as he returned. probably the only reason he didnât is because he didnât want to leave obi-wan alone for that long and he absolutely wanted to kill him himself
I fucking LOVE the most recent playmaker snipper (kisses to distract) because you can see EXACTLY how Obi-Wan becomes who he does. He kisses Quinlan knowing it will get the man killed, because Quinlan's life is not as important as Obi-Wan getting to stay with Anakin. Yes, it was spur of the moment, but it's still a decision he made and has to live with. And then when Anakin asks him why, and he's like (1/?)
"I told you I was cold ... as if heâd been so cold he found another manâs body to keep him warm in the minutes he was away from Anakin." This is ABSOLUTELY the man who calls out Cody's name in revenge because Anakin comes home late for Christmas. This is the beginning of that monster, and it's so so perfectly constructed to play to all his insecurities. I just... chef's fucking kiss, kit, you've done it again (2/2)
(in reference to this playmaker au snippet)
so i love love love all the playmaker stuff i've written that's set in the distant future where it's clear that obi-wan has been successfully warped into a monster that very nicely matches anakin's and now he's kidnapping babies and violently killing home intruders and also his own father
but ugh there's something i love the most about the ficlets/scenarios where he's just starting out in the mob and is either totally innocent (like the very first snippet) or in the midst of his transformation
like he totally regrets kissing vos because he knows that means vos is going to die--but in the moment the only thing he cares about is not leaving anakin and doing whatever he can to stay by his side which is objectively insane!! and then he does this a few months later all over again to maul when maul is threatening to tell vader that obi-wan is a rat. it's the same action, same kiss of death, it's driven by the same gut-instinct fear of being abandoned by the person he loves and it's so fucked up of him to do not just once to a guy he actually likes but twice!!
i bet anakin spends a long time expecting obi-wan to try and run post-leaving the police department, once the realization of all that he's done sets into him, and he's ready to drag the city the way you drag a lake in order to get him back (aka total destruction if that's what it takes) but obi-wan would literally never leave him even just to tease
he'll cut his hair and steal a baby and make anakin's life incredibly complicated in punishment for anakin, say, not doing his fucking taxes, but he'd never ever actually leave - he's perpetually a little scared that anakin would just let him go
(and anakin would never, but it's also best if obi-wan never knows that for sure. best for anakin at least)
