Bucky x Reader
âSenior Projectâ
Sam was already giving you grief the moment you stepped into the hangar.
âMan, I still donât get it,â he said, leaning against the railing like he had all day to roast you. âYou couldâve picked anyone in this world, and you went for the old man who still calls the fridge an âicebox.ââ
You rolled your eyes, but your lips curved into a wicked smirk. âOh, come on, Sam. Donât act like you donât see the appeal.â
Bucky, walking a step ahead, glanced back at you with that wary, please donât look he always got right before you opened your mouth and set something on fire.
âIn fact,â you continued sweetly, âI call him my senior project.â
Bucky froze. Sam choked on a laugh so hard he had to lean on the railing for support.
âYouââ Sam wheezed. âOh, my God. Iâm never letting you live that down.â
Buckyâs ears went bright red, his jaw clenching like he was trying to physically hold back a retort. âYou know,â he muttered, turning back to you, âfor someone who likes kissing me so much, you sure talk a lot about my age.â
You grinned innocently. âWell, you are over a century old. Iâm just making sure I get extra credit for the experience.â
Sam lost it again. âExtra credit! Oh, this is gold.â
Bucky stepped closer, metal hand brushing the small of your back in a silent weâll talk later promise that made your stomach flip.
âYeah, laugh it up,â he told Sam, not taking his eyes off you. âSheâs still coming home with me.â
Sam just shook his head, still chuckling. âSenior project⌠damn.â
And as Bucky ushered you out of the hangar, you swore you could feel him plotting exactly how he was going to make you pay for that comment laterâprobably in ways that would make you regret (and then not regret) saying it at all.
