The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason: This work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 70 years or fewer.
United States public domain tag This work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 70 years: Mexico has 100 years, Jamaica has 95 years, Colombia has 80 years, and Guatemala and Samoa have 75 years. Prints from Today! (Using the Second Plate)
These are the prints that I got done with my second plate today! I was really happy with how the designs themselves came out because I think I achieved a good level of detail and expressed the patterns found in rocks well!
The first print (black and white) was a proof to see how the plate would come out and even though a section wasn't submerged properly in the tank during the electro etching process, it still worked very well!
However, for the second print, I accidentally misplaced the block when I was printing on top of the coloured square! This is something that I really need to stop doing, but I plan to mark out the areas I'll put my plates more accurately before I start the prints.
I am really happy with the etching side of these prints, and I think I'll be able to do lots more with them tomorrow.
