I'd like to preface this by saying that this is gonna be the only JO song analysis for today and I won't post any tomorrow either. I have other things planned for that day, after all, this era of my blog did start out with me going to the show of a certain estonian rapper over a month ago, and tomorrow is a special dayyy :))

Ah, Plastika, the 1st Joker Out song with lyrics I managed to learn how to sing half decently. I used to be very into this song, mostly because it just sounds so pleasant. Like everything about it hits exactly where it should. Although I've become less invested in it over these past 2 and a half years, it holds a special place in my heart (yes, because I could kinda sing it at the time!)

Lyrically it's very interesting, dealing with the problems caused by the world's beauty standards and plastic surgery of all things. It's a little weird and doesn't really fit with the rest of their music but I'm not complaining, it's a bop! Big fan of "I can't tell if I should be laughing or crying" as a line, both in and out of context.

I think it's got a very worthwhile message but that's not what jumps out at ya when listening to it, not at all. I mean, you get the gist even without a translation, sure, but the real appeal of the song is it's catchy chorus and overall addictive sound. I don't think I can count how many times this song got stuck in my head back in '23. It still gets stuck in there sometimes and writing this will probably make it stick for the rest of the day. YAY!
