if there were an evil version of the au. I can only imagine that the cause for it would be either Callen helped turn in Bendol's family in the early set up of the story, or somehow he'd have to die, and gets brought back to life but not without a cost.
Bendol already has a very fragile ego and losing their family or Callen in later development would lead to all refrain leaving him entirely.
Sooooo either the context for Callen's condition in the evil varient would fall under, damaged cause he died and had to be revived. Or it goes more so down the "he is being punished severly for aiding in Bendol's downfall".
