Slides from the natural dye workshop with the Cambridge Public Library on 8/13

Using tea and coffee to dye paper and also to paint with can be fun. I used card stock and regular strength coffee and tea. First I soaked the papers in water with some alum dissolved in it for a few hours. After they dried I soaked some in tea and some in coffee for a few hours. The tea made a warm brown and the coffee was grayer. When I painted with each, however, you can see that the colors look very similar. Have you tried this?
