Spending the afternoon at Rhode Island Comic Con with such talent like @campanaart aka Chris Campana, Don McGregor, @inkerscott aka Scott Hanna was a pleasure. Talked to both Scott and Don for a couple hours. These two have got stories to tell about their lives so much fun. And I picked up a new book series called Planeta Blu written by @temblessed and illustrated by @mike.lariccia . its funny though Mike knew of me from my work on Knight Seeker and Cosplay from a coworker of his back in the day. Here’s a little insight on my coloring methods on Planeta Blu. ・・・ “One aspect of this project I especially love is the opportunities to play with color to influence emotional reactions from the viewer. When I begin coloring I lay out flat colors very loosely so I can get a sense of how I want the entire page to look. During this stage I'll add colors in different areas of the composition to make the reader's eye move about the page. With this example page, the group has just woken up from a terrifying night. It's a moment of peace during a hectic journey, which is a perfect moment to use color to signify an emotional transition. I used the warm oranges and yellows to portray the tranquility of the sunrise, at the same time reserving some memory of the previous pages with lighter muted versions of the purples and reds. When I return to this page I'll clean up all of the color areas to align with the drawing plus add some highlights and shadows as well as some lighting effects to mimic the sun rays.
