I bet you're all surprised to see a Murder Drones art from me of all things. And this late? Yeah I got into this series way later than most. Well honestly? MD has become a bit of a comfort to me for a while. Not sure why, I guess I just vibe with it. Not a fixation or anything, but something I can enjoy whenever I feel the need to watch something fun yet intense.

And tbh? I'm a bit nervous to share fanart with such a big fandom. (unlike RainCode being small, this larger fandom intimidates me >.<) I'm NOT in the fandom at all. I'm just a lurker. Making things for my own personal enjoyment. (like always)

Ngl, robot illness has been a fascinating point of topic for me since I was a kid. Some of my favorite characters growing up were robots and only one touched on the subject of a "virus" properly imo. It gave me some room to experiment in my head. Honestly, these Drones are the most humanized robots I've come to know. Especially with the fact they can blush, sweat, vomit, and run high temperatures from overheating (that alone gave me ideas lmao)

And after reading a plethora of MD sickfics on AO3, I realized there is a criminally lacking amount of illness art content for MD. So just as I do, I took matters into my own hands. And attempted to draw various doodles of my favorite little angsty teen going through the worst virus ever... XD (my rule is my faves must suffer lol)

N being there is a total given. That boy is the epitome of a caretaker to Uzi through most of the series. So naturally she'd let her guard down around him. As for her mom, I liked Nori and wish she got more screen time. And I personally think her and Uzi would have a solid relationship with each other, though I also see them constantly fighting over the dumbest stuff. I do like to imagine she tries to parent Uzi where her father failed miserably (fuck that guy) so she does her best to be a mom to her when she can. And this is for sure one of those times.

Uzi as a sickie I imagine to be incredibly cranky and moody. Lashing out at everyone who tries to help, insisting she can handle it on her own, wanting to stay in the dark like the little bat she is, cursing every time her system malfunctions, heat and steam comes from her body, or she has to puke oil for the who knows-how-many-ith time.

However, with N... she completely melts into his embrace begging to be doted on by him. Clinging to him tightly yet pretending she's still being tough. Utterly touch starved. At least that's how I see it. She 100% lets her guard down around him and allows herself to be vulnerable in his presence. Because she knows she can count on him, and he'll take good care of her. And despite being absent from most of Uzi's life, I think Nori does still care and worry for her daughter as a mother would, and she'd still try to help in her own way even if Uzi refuses it. She's just trying her best to be a mom to her poor sick baby ;w;.

That's when I came up with this scenario within my doodles. Uzi wakes up feeling off not long before collapsing outside her room. When Nori finds out and stays home while Khan's at work to try and help her, Uzi completely refuses and rejects her mother's care. It becomes too much for Nori so she resorts to contacting N to have his "help" in getting Uzi to cooperate. When he does come by and Uzi calms down, Nori does whatever she can to properly read her code and install the anti-virus. And N tries too, by feeding her oil soup...when she has zero appetite. She definitely needs the oil for her temperature stabilization, so despite her nausea she still tries her best to take it in small portions.

The small device in Nori's claw is like a drone's version of a thermometer, basically a scan to read a drone's coding and seeing if any of it is corrupted by a virus. The symptoms of the virus are similar to a human flu; fever, chills, head + body aches, coughing, unstable balance and a stomach ache + vomiting substituting the cold-like symptoms, because robots. (and its canon that they can get those issues) The anti-virus program takes a full day to load so Uzi remains sick until the next day and the best way for her to be in less pain is to rest her functions while the newly added code breaks down the virus infected code.

The doodles are completely out of order, but hopefully they still tell the story kind of. To any MD fans that see this, just know that I yap a LOT about my art sometimes. So kudos if you read allat... x'D

Again, not a part of this fandom. Just a lurker. But if you enjoyed these doodles, then I'm very happy I could feed you as I fed myself. Hopefully I did these drones justice in my art style. They weren't easy to get right lemme tell ya... ^^; (especially their glowing eyes.)

Here we go again... Me saying I would only draw Murder Drones once or twice, and now here I am drawing it for like the 4th time XD Well it IS Murder Drones Month. So why the heck not?

I also drew N incorrectly in my first art and I wanted to have another go at it. I had no idea the lights on his head were a headband and thought they were a part of his hat... ^^; (I really should've gotten that hint after looking at V or J ONCE I'm an idiot lol)

So guess who's my next victim? Yeah, I decided to give N a virus too. This is a parallel art to my Uzi version, which did very well on here. (and it went viral on twitter) Figured people enjoy Nuzi the most in this community, so here's some more nuzi food for you all. Hurt/Comfort illness scenes are my specialty :3 I also have a talent for making cute pathetic boys even more cute and pathetic by making them sick... 😈

Now from my post on Drone Viruses, I did say that it was less common for Disassembly Drones to get viruses than workers. But I also said it could still happen because they used to be workers. And at the end of the series, the DDs are seen living amongst the workers. So I'd think they're more prone to viruses since they're with other workers. Maybe this is the first time N's gotten ill since he was a worker in the manor and he lost memory of the hell it can be to go through. And because he’s a DD, it’s a lot WORSE when it happens to him.

So onto N as a sickie. He's the exact opposite of his girlfriend. Unlike her being cranky and toughing it out trying to deal with it alone, he is super pathetic, needy and practically clings to you or cries if you leave him alone. He's very scared, likely due to overheated delirium and he's basically a sick little kid/puppy just wanting and needing love and care.

I have to say, it was fun experimenting with new methods of coloring with this boy. Especially with the glowing optics. I think I did a lot better this time around. I also love playing around with the features of the visor. Combining the HIGH TEMP warnings and the sweat and blush; putting them all together to create my version of a drone fever. I think it works pretty well and would not mind if others followed my example.

I'm also happy that I waited to make fanart like this until these two had canon sleepwear. PJs are practically the dress code/uniform of a sick day. I was thinking of making him not wear a hat like Uzi and give him a messy bedhead, but I have no idea what his hair looks like under his hat and he even wears his hat to sleep so....

he can keep it on during his sick day too idc.

The scenario is as follows; Uzi and N go out to do something together outside Copper 9 (like a date) and they discover something's off when N cannot summon his wings to fly. He then collapses and starts emitting heat as Uzi takes a closer look at him. When she finds out he likely contracted a virus, she immediately takes him home. Once he's in bed in pjs (and covered in his favorite blanket) Uzi comes back with her mother to check his code (temperature) and only Nori knows how to use the device. She scans him and confirms he's bugged. After this Uzi does whatever she can to bring N comfort while he goes through it. Such as supporting him, feeding him and cooling his overheated body off. Thankfully Copper 9 being a frozen planet has endless snow and ice, so many ice packs can be made for cooling anything. And Cyn helps a little bit too, she still loves her big brother. (unlike when she’s purposefully tormenting Uzi, she’s nicer to N lol) Then later when N feels a little better, he gets super snuggly with Uzi, much to her dismay (nah she likes it xD)

I like to imagine Uzi is very kind and gentle to N during his bad days, but I think she still retains some of her usual spunk and edgy teen personality. Its fun to attempt portraying their personalities. It helps me believe my work is more canon x3

That's all I have to say on this. It took me 4 days so I hope the end result is worth all the trial and error. My MD art has improved drastically yet still is a challenge (only because I fear drawing the DDs complex bodies so I just get away w it by putting N in his pjs... XD)

I guess if I was in this fandom, I want to be known as the artist that draws drones with viruses. I'd be very happy (cause that's all you'll likely see from me)

I imagine internal viruses w these drones results in this a lot. Coughing up/vomiting oil is probably the most difficult symptom. Since cold symptoms probably aren't possible with drones (like how?)

The overheating too. From lack of oil and the virus.

So this is my take on drone sickness. Worker drones have weaker cyber immune systems than disassembly drones because their hardware and programing is more outdated. Disassembly drones can still get sick, its just a lot more common in workers. But that doesn't make them completely immune, as they used to be workers (and they can still suffer from overheating) And if a DD gets ill, it can get BAD because its more rare.

When a drone contracts a virus, visualization shows their optics glitch and go haywire. Unlike when their emotions can change based on emotion alone, a virus displays emotion and physical pain. They also overheat far worse than if they get hungry or are overheating due to feeling aroused.

Symptoms of a Drone Virus can include the following:

Infected Code

Headache/Migraine

Overheating without appetite (Fever)

Flush + Sweat within Visor (only present with fever)

Loose Steam from Body (if fever is high)

Labored Breathing

Dizziness and Slower Movement

Lethargy and Exhaustion

Feeling Discomfort in Usual Programing

Body Aches and Shivering

Coughing

Nausea/Vomiting (causes further overheating due to oil loss)

Damaged vocal chip (loss of voice)

Glitchy Optics within Visor (blurry vision w various warnings)

Sensory Overload

Forced Shutdowns (fainting or blacking out)

Unable to Fly (applies only to the DDs and Uzi)

Not ALL symptoms have to be present. But even a few can be signs of a virus. If most or all symptoms are included, then the virus is more serious.

Without proper treatment a drone's virus can be fatal if the overheating persists for too long with no form to regulating their temperature.

Ways to heal a virus infected drone (with time):

Anti-Virus Chip (takes all day to load)

Medicine Capsules (if chip takes multiple days or further suffering persists)

Ice Packs for the Body

Drinking Coolant

Drinking Oil (more difficult but it does work if condition permits it)

Resting or Entering Sleep Mode

A big shoutout to anyone on AO3 who wrote a MD sickfic and taught me more about how a robot's body would more accurately display illness. I've learned a lot, thank you to all the wonderful writers out there! :3

Okay now onto why I've targeted Uzi of all drones. Well 3 reasons. Number 1, she's my favorite and my rule states that if you're my favorite character in a media, you have to suffer. Number 2, she's the easiest for me to draw. And Number 3, post ep. 8 whilst inheriting solver genetics from her mother and becoming a half zombie (I think?) she also absorbs Cyn and completely hijacks her own programing. And in my eyes, that makes her WEAKER. And more susceptible to viruses. (plus Cyn would probably do it for the lolz)

Anyway that's all I have to say on drone illness. Hope you all get ideas, have new things to consider with drone whump, or at least had an interesting read! Sick Whump is really fun and good stuff for angsty or fluffy moments.

Some Extra Facts:

Yuma is a runt spotted dwarf hamster. He is smaller than everyone else. His pattern was actually semi-inspired by @brightstarblogs.

The spot on Yuma's eye has another spot. This was inspired by his mystery phantom having question marks on his eyes.

Shinigami is not a hamster but she tries to look the part anyway. (idk what I did w her design tbh… xD) Her fluffy dark chest fur is a substitute her “puffy” chest lol

Yakou's design was inspired by Boss/Taisho from Hamtaro. Also his coat was hand made by his departed wife (I'm not drawing those details screw that) He's also very disheveled. He's been through a lot ;-;

Yakou is a golden hamster. So he’s slightly bigger than the others. (showing his ‘boss’ status) except they all just call him Chief XD

Halara is an albino hamster. This makes their vision poor (they wear glasses) but it empowers their forte.

Fubuki is a fancy patterned hamster (she is rich after all)

Vivia's little sock blanket was inspired by Snoozer/Neteru from Hamtaro. Fun fact! Snoozer and Boss are roommates in the show. He sleeps in the clubhouse Boss owns. Just like Vivia sleeps in Yakou's fireplace... XD

Ghost Vivia is based on the Ghost Hamsters from Hamtaro Ham-Ham Heartbreak's Boo Manor stage.

Kurumi's spot on her back is in place of the strawberry on her jacket.

Yomi has a similar bottom pattern to Spat from Hamtaro Ham-Ham Heartbreak. Symbolizing how sinister and “evil” he is XD

Zilch's fur pattern is similar to a raccoon. It fit with his fur scarf~

Makoto is also a spotted runt dwarf Hamster like Yuma. (duh he's his clone XD) he dyed his spots blonde to match his hair. His eyes are also a slightly different shape than Yuma’s.

It was fun to draw everyone as a ham-ham. So silly and cute :3 Drawing Hammies is therapeutic for me ;w; Another thing I do enjoy drawing other than illness c: (but alas that's not what this blog is for, so consider this a special treat :3)

Okay so I know I made Kira a more normal art (which I did go over for this xD) but I felt like I wanted to try to make one more that I felt okay about sharing on my blog. So guess who’s targeting yet another AU Yuma? Yep. Its me… xD

One of the things that put Yuma on my list as my prime whumpee is how small he is. When a character gets sick they can look so…small. Pitiful and tiny… So for a character like Yuma, it works EXTRA good! BUT…what if Yuma was EVEN smaller? Just small enough to fit in the palm of your hand?

Welp, this is my take on Kira’s Borrower AU. Based on her fanfic called My Small and Strange Family

Where all of the NDA detectives are just tiny little people living in Yakou’s walls, and Yakou is the giant detective that helps them all. And I gotta tell you, the POTENTIAL this situation has for a sicknario is so nice. So I thought I’d give my take on it, as a bonus gift for Kira (and for myself lol)

Also here’s the base I used for Yakou

So this is what I’m thinking for the scenario:

Yakou saves borrower Yuma from drowning. He falls into the river and his cries for help signal the giant to come to his aid. He quickly scoops him up and takes him to the safety of his home and makes sure to wrap him up in a tiny little towel to stay warm. However, Yuma’s frail immune system causes him to fall very sick from being too cold. Was it a cold or something more? Yakou has no idea, but what he does know is, the little borrower needed immediate help.

Because of his tiny size, the care precautions were a bit of a struggle for Yakou. The medicine he had was too big, he couldn’t accurately read the boy’s temperature, and he didn’t even know if human medicine was safe for small people like him. Were their immune systems different? It seemed almost like it was Yuma’s first time experiencing it. Had he never been ill before?

But the more Yuma shivered or cried in pain, the more desperate Yakou became. He grabbed a glass thermometer and told Yuma to just hold it close to his body hoping that would be enough to read his temperature. Then after he gets a read on it, he lays Yuma to rest in a small box on his desk and goes to crush a pill into a powder and put it in water and mix it until it was completely dissolved. Then he takes an eyedropper and grabs a small bit of it and heads back to the ailing borrower. He places the eyedropper to the boy’s mouth and tells him to drink it. Which he does slowly. Yakou could only pray that this works as a cure and keeps a close eye on the sick little borrower all day to make sure he recovers. He was not going to lose his new little friend. At least he now knows how to hydrate him…
