11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been

Bruce was very nearly gutted by a fisherman when he was just a pup. He has a lateral scar on his underbelly from the whole ordeal and was probably the closest he ever came to dying.

He also caught a glimpse of orcas, but only from afar. If they’d been interested in him, there would be nothing Bruce could do to evade them and live.

Both ordeals were equally jarring in their own unique ways, and weren’t situations he’d like to repeat.

13. Is your character bothered by the sight of blood? If so, in what way?

Bruce isn’t troubled by the sight so much as what it might do to him— and consequently the individual bleeding. Luckily, not all blood triggers a feeding frenzy: notably just fish, and marine mammals like baleen whales, seals, and toothed whales. Each prey blood causes a different effect and a different degree of ferocity depending on his hunger.

For turned-human verse Bruce:

27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?

In most, if not all, of Bruce’s verses, he approaches conflict with a pacifistic attitude. He doesn’t want to be the first one to throw a punch and certainly not the one to wound the other party— even if the other individual is way out of line.

If he can’t calmly intimidate the assailant into backing off, or talk them out of escalating, Bruce isn’t above very carefully grabbing the individual by the scruff of the shirt or by the shoulders and quietly escorting them out of the room/building.
