Miraculous Sweet-ember (Sept. 9th)
September 9th: Pixelator & Guitar Villain
Pixelator was an extreme fan of Jagged Stone. He would follow him around in hopes of capturing a photo of the two of them together which was certainly not welcomed by Jagged. What I really enjoyed about this episode is the obstacle that Ladybug had to deal with. Which was her right hand was turned into pixels after the Pixelator managed to hit her arm with his ability. This meant her hand was no longer tangible. The little moments where she forgets she has a ghost limb and would try to use it and fail were very funny. This episode was the first time Ladybug was directly affected by an akuma’s ability long term. It also happened in a battle where Chat Noir was not present. Chat Noir is essential part of their team and without his aid it off sets the balance.
Since their Miraculous’ represent yin and yang, working together is very beneficial. The duo’s opposite fighting styles, thought process, and abilities create balance truly making them a super team. Although Ladybug is more than capable of holding her own, ultimately their miraculous’ are suppose to be working with together. Thankfully when Ladybug was in danger of getting snapped by Pixelator she was able to use her wits to talk him out of it and convinced him to free half the victims (one of them being Adrien Agreste.) Chat Noir’s first appearance was rather short since he got captured by Pixelator once again (though this time to his advantage; as Chat Noir and without Chloe by his side.) After this, Ladybug ends up getting her right leg pixelated putting her in a tight spot resulting in Jagged stepping in to help distract. Chat Noir managed to escape the photograph world with cataclysm, freeing the remainder of the victims and coming back just in time to assist Ladybug with her Lucky Charm. I love seeing moments that show us how essential Ladybug and Chat Noir are to each other, and I love seeing Ladybug use her wits to over come obstacles.
Guitar Villain was another Jagged Stone centric episode, this time he was the akumatized victim. One thing stay they same though, Jagged commissioned another project from Marinette. In Pixelator she made him some sick shades. Because of this he wanted her and her artistic vision to design his new album cover. She struggles when his producer comes to tell her that he wants a change of direction with Jagged’s image.
In the end Marinette sicks to her guts and goes with the vision she knows is best for Jagged. Which work extremely in her favor. Not only did Jagged loved it same with Marinette’s number one fanboy. I’m of course talking about Adrien Agreste. Adrien approaches Marinette to asked if she can give him an autograph. At first she misinterprets what he meant and said she can see what she can do about getting Jagged’s autograph for him. Thats when bashfully tells her that he actually wanted Marinette to sign the CD. Just wow! Wholesome content right there! Best part was how giddy Adrien was when he received it. Very very good stuff.
