now i used to firmly hold the opinion that north should be the love interest in the revolutionary route and simon should be the love interest in the peaceful route but im not even sure i believe that anymore. this story just doesn't hold a lot of space for a romance option. the revolutionary route incorporates your relationship with north pretty well - but the peaceful route is like. very much leaning on the side of This Just Doesn't Need A Romance Plot Line. as much as i love simon. and north. and i do believe markus has two hands for a reason. but i also think that the whole "we scrapped a romance plot with simon" really shows in how poorly incorporated the romance plot with north in the peaceful route is

this is nothing that hasnt been said a million times but it is really confusing how you can spend the entire previous chapter doing everything north asks you not to do and having your relationship meter go down with her and then the very next chapter a single conversation brings you up to being her lover. its just like...no i think that if you as markus choose a peaceful route then you and north shouldn't be together like that. its so random and its so nothing. you guys have nothing in common besides the overarching goal of the game. being able to romance north in the peaceful route really diminishes both her character and markus's character into Oh well We Had to Pair them Off because She's a girl and You are a boy! Obviously you are in Love <3 and its like Hi i have spent the entire game arguing with her. i feel like this may not work out long term
