I decided to use piwigo for my image gallery. Using 2.7 version. Ldap plugin is not available for this version, but by doing little modification I can use it successfully. Just change trigger_action to trigger_notify.

Samba

Galleries folder is accessible via samba and gallery group.

/etc/samba/smb.conf setting:

[gallery]

  path = /var/gallery   browsable = yes   valid users = @gallery   writable = yes   guest ok = no   read only = no

add group

sudo addgroup gallery

add some user

sudo adduser newuser

add user to samba

sudo smbpasswd -a newuser

add user to group

sudo usermod -a -G gallery newuser

change directory permission

sudo chown www-data:gallery /var/gallery

sudo chgrp gallery /var/gallery && sudo chmod g+s /var/gallery
