Races get remembered for overtakes and strategy, but half the story happens in three seconds or less. This SportsOrca piece is all about the teams that turned pit lane into their own highlight reel. Perfect timing on the jacks, guns on and off in a flash, cars dropped and gone before your brain even registers the stop.

It looks at the outfits that built whole reputations on pit work. Seasons where one team kept rattling off sub two second stops. Races where a perfect service jumped a car ahead of a rival and never gave the position back. You feel how much stress, rehearsal and quiet flexing lives in those tiny moments between the lines.

The FIA has decided that after the Hungarian Grand Prix pit stops will be slower for safety reasons.

This rule implements a minimum time of 0. 15 seconds for tyre change. That is, if it is done faster than the minimum set time, it will have to be repeated. With this change it is expected that pitsops will be made 0.2 to 0.3 slower.

What a coincidence that they decided to implement this rule in the middle of the season, right? Let’s hope it doesn’t affect or ruin the races, for me pit stops are one of the most exciting and intense parts.

It is necessary to remember that it is for "safety", but also to equalize the competition.

Pit stops have always had issues, and accidents happen. For me, the only way to seriously reduce the risk is to implement a minimum pit stop time. However, that doesn’t seem like a popular idea, or even practical.

People have talked about bringing back the lollipop, but even that still resulted in unsafe releases. For there to be 4 errors across 2 race weekends, something definitely needs to be looked at and fixed.
