I got asked under my other post if I could do a green version, so here it is! Enjoy!

1. 🌲Nature and ancestors⚔️ (again)

Green is associated with forests, plants, and healthy vegetation. For our ancestors, this usually meant that the land was healthy and fertile for growing food, it was safe to live in and that water was nearby.

2. 🟰Associations🟰

Studies have shown that people associate the color green with calmness, balance, growth, health and renewal (Similar to blue). That's also why brands use green in their marketing to create a peaceful atmosphere.

3. ✨Easy on the eyes✨

Human eyes are particularly sensitive to green wavelengths (there are a few reasons for it, which I'Il explain in a later post). This means that green is generally comfortable and easy to look at for long periods of time, which can also be why some people find it soothing.

4. 💃Cultural meaning💃

In different cultures, the color green can mean different things.

It can mean good luck (especially in Ireland), nature and environment (forests), wealth and prosperity (Money is green in the US) or life (wildlife).

It also has only a few negative associations like: Envy (green with envy), inexperience (someone is green in a workplace) or toxic/poisonous substances. Even if it does have some bad associations, they are generally not as dominant as the good ones.

5. 🤷‍♀️Personal values🤷‍♀️

Like with practically every color, your favorite color is usually influenced by personal values and experiences. For someone who likes peace and spending time outdoors, green or blue would be more appealing than red or purple. It isn't scientifically proven that your favorite color can tell people about your personality, but it's a fun theory that sometimes might be correct 🙃.

Please do remember that this post is not saying you need to have a reason for liking a color. You might just like how it looks and that is a good reason too. This post is just to share some fun facts about favorite colors and maybe you'll find that you agree with some of them.

Im really here because of my friends, aries0nmars and starryshroomx, to support aries's writing (i think she is an amazing writer) and both of theyr art. (If Starry ever decides to actually post more of her awesome art)

I also wanted to give a heads-up that I'm an introvert. I'm still pretty new to this app, and I still don't really know how to reach out to people. 😅 I'd still love to talk to new people (from what I've seen, people on here are amazing ❤️), but like I said, this is still new to me.

There can be a few reasons.

1. It's associated with 🌲nature🌲

Blue is generally the color of clear skies and fresh water - things that are often viewed as calming, beautiful or life sustaining.

2. It tends to recall ✨positive emotions✨.

Psychology studies often find that people associate blue with calmness, stability, trust and reliability.

3. People don't link it with 🔥danger🔥

Unlike red or yellow, which are commonly the colors of warnings or dangers (blood, fire, ect.), the color blue has relatively few negative associations.

4. 🕰Culture and childhood🕰

Fun fact: because blue is so well liked, brands often use it in their branding so your first impression of them is positive. This could also be why some people are fond of the colour, since they've been seeing it since childhood.

5. ⚔️Ancestors⚔️

Some people may argue that clear skies and water were advantages for our ancestors in the wild, which could be another reason why blue is so popular.

6. 🤷‍♀️Personal preference🤷‍♀️

While some of these can explain why the color blue is the most liked color, people also choose theyr favorite color based on memories and personal experiences.

Favorite colors might also be linked to values and desires. If someone wants to be seen as strong and tough, the color red might appear more appealing since its linked to danger.

❗Remember please❗, that none of these can be the reason you like your favorite color. Some of these can be the reasons, but that doesn't mean you need a reason. You can just like it because you think it's pretty ^^.

I thought about it today on the buss. Why can we hear our own thoughts? I mean, we're not speaking, so how? Whats the mechanism behind it? I searched a bit and found out.

When we think, our brain is essentially generating a silent form of speech and than hearing it. It can predict what speech sounds like and consciously observe it's own mental activity.

In short: the brain uses the same parts that it uses for speech, remembers how speech sounds like, and uses it internally.

In many cultures, red symbolizes love, passion, romance and desire. This can make the color red more appealing to people who value love and passion.

2. ⚔️Strength and power👑

Red is also linked to things like confidence, courage, leadership and determination. For people who value those qualities or want to be seen that way, red is naturally more appealing than other colors.

3. ❗Attention grabbing❗

Red has one of the longest visible wavelengths, making it stand out. It's one of the reasons why it's used for things like stop signs, fire trucks and emergency buttons.

4. Evolutionary associations 🦖

Some scientists think humans pay special attention to red, because in the past, it was often associated with blood (injury), fire (danger) and flushed skin (emotion, attraction or health). All those things were important for survival, which is may be why we're so sensitive to it.

This doesn't explain why humans like the color red, but it explains why we pay extra attention to it.

5. 🤷‍♀️Personal preference 🤷‍♀️

Some people naturally prefer more vibrant and bold colors rather than calm and relaxing. Someone who likes excitement, competition or bold aesthetics might naturally be drawn to it.

Please remember that this post is made to share some fun facts about favorite colors and not trying to tell you that you need to have a reason for liking a color. You might just like how it looks and that's just as good a reason as any of the ones I've mentioned.
