This is the only picture of Kelly Williams as genderbent Pisanio from the 2016 RSC production of Cymbeline that I can find online and this is a crime because 2016 Pisania radiates queer energy.

BWAAAAAAAA. explain why imogen’s most romantic moments are with pisanio. i will tell you: it is because they are in love
i am kissing pisanio gently on the mouth
Where do I find the wild Cymbeline fans?
Can we talk about what an epic multifaceted heroine Innogen/Imogen is?
Can we talk about Posthumus, masculinity, the agony of redemption, and the fact that finally someone in Shakespeare realizes OUT LOUD that a woman's life is worth more than just her chastity?
Do we think Iachimo has ever had half the seductive power he thinks he has?
Does anyone else get emotional about Belarius or is that just me?
How about a grieving king who takes on a horribly inadequate substitute for his lost children and looks right past that substitute's obvious faults, thereby jeopardizing his relationship with his only remaining child?
Doesn't Pisanio deserve so much better?
I want to talk. Hit me up if you have Thoughts.
The dimension Pisanio is from is advanced, and the life forms inhabiting it are not made of flesh. They are empaths and the concept of physical pain is foreign to them.
Pisanio doesn’t expect malice or fears being exploited, it’s unfamiliar with the this dimension’s rules on an emotional level but it read and studied about it plenty, man, this dimension’s gonna ruin it.
Pisanio was designed for me as a gift! Here’s the original

i understand that, as far as little fellers go, there are probably more interesting shakespearean examples than pisanio; he isn't given much internality, the way a better character (or probably a character in a better story) would be. but he spends the play orbiting imogen, who is lifelike, and she casts her glow upon him. pisanio could be mute and i would still love him purely based on the figure that's implied through imogen's reactions
