We are on the eve of the October Country and my favorite season.
Lone Fir Cemetery's forest of trees muffle the sounds of the surrounding city into a peaceful hush, and it's easy to forget where you are for a few moments. There are deeply tragic stories here, but also abundant natural beauty.
I'm forcing myself to get better at digital painting and trying to break the depressive stranglehold I've been under since the world accelerated into our current parade of horrors, so here's a quick study of one of my favorite sanctuaries in Portland (from a photo I took nearly 9 years ago now). Time flies.
