Why Ian even found himself at a damn party in the first place, thanks to someone he wouldn't even have called a close friend, was a mystery even to him. Maybe he just tried to get a reaction out of his mother? Most mothers didn't want their fifteen-year-old kid out drinking at parties, but then again, most mothers gave a fuck.
He sat by a window, hating how overcrowded and loud everything was. He loved loud music as much as the next kid, but the people could go away. His so-called friend had long since ditched him anyway.
Settling for observing people for now, his eyes eventually landed on a young girl that stood out of the crowd to him. She looked about as entertained with this place as he was. He didn't do anything, though. Just observed. Trying not to seem like a creep, he'd look away every now and then.
He almost jolted in surprise when he turned to look in her direction again when this time he caught her eyes. Chuckling a bit awkwardly as he did.
