Pinky and the Brain’s reaction while watching the Grave of the Fireflies sad ending where Seita’s little four year old sister Setsuko died from malnutrition and then got cremated by him all alone. Even the usually stoic Brain is crying at the ending, hugging his secret love, Pinky.
Yep! That’s also my reaction when I got to the end! Boy! This depressing yet beautiful movie set in Japan during World War 2 hits you so hard in the heart that it’s almost unbearable!
Poor Setsuko...... Seita..... And some of the other characters who died in the movie with them, including their parents..... 😢
R.I.P Isao Takahata. Thanks for making us cry. And thank you for your amazing movies.
Pinky and the Brain watches Grave of the Fireflies. But Pinky couldn’t stop crying watching this movie.
The Brain: “You must be strong, Pinky! Be a Man! Like Eleanor Roosevelt!”
Seita: “She never woke up.”
Pinky: (Sobbing)!
The Brain: “Hey, it’s... It’s moving... Setsuko.... Setsuko.... Oh my.....”
Tears filled the Brain’s eyes.
Pinky: “Bwaaaaaa! Seeeeetttssssuuukkkkkooooo!”
The Brain: “Pinky, look... My face is leaking...”
Pinky: “You’re not leaking, Brain..... (sniff!) You’re.... You’re crying!...... Troz!......”
The Brain: “I am not!......”
The Brain: (Starts Sobbing)!
Pinky: “Aw, It’s alright, Brain. No one could resist a terrifically manipulative contrivance with swelling Japanese music.”
