In case you're wondering: Pinkglow™ is grown just like any other pineapple, however, to obtain the beautiful pink color, they used bioengineering to turn off the enzyme that naturally metabolizes lycopene to beta carotene, which is what gives traditional pineapples their yellow pigment.
