Just met the loveliest German lady last night who bought us two bottles of wine so I slept amazingly! Its inspiring that shes doing this alone as her first holiday alone. I hope that if I get to the point in my life where I have to holiday alone I have envoi confidence to do something like she's doing. She has no phone with her and is walking almost double what we are
Just to let everyone know I'm doing El Camino de Santiago at the moment, if by any chance anyone on here is doing it or has done it please hit me up!
Day three of El Camino. Everything hurts. The walk was painful but good as I met some great people, the scenery is amazing, and its actually really relaxing but painful at the same time. I loved meeting some of the Spanish people, everyone is so open here and j have been offered a bed in Barcelona for if I ever want to go with a friend which is useful as me and a friend were thinking of going in march. I'm also amazed by the number of volunteers that leave thrir home over summer to help with the Camino like these two ladies who offered us some free coffee, postcards and crisps. This hostel is nice, we are a bit afraid of bed bugs as we may have found a nest but there is nowhere else we can go for seven kilometres and we are all dead so can't walk any further, the owner is lovely though. We all had a hysterical laughing fit which lasted about an hour, we are just so exhausted. Not sure how I am going to do the next day as I feel ill and crippled but we shall see
A shop opens in the early hours on Grand Road in Puri, India. The elaborate art on the entrance to the store carries the same theme of this timeless place of pilgrimage.

So I had my first meeting with the organisers of my pilgrimage trip to Manila. He was telling us all these stories and how even the strongest of people come back completely changed. Which got me thinking about how changed I would be when I come back, especially after seeing the communities and working with the children and their mothers. I'm kind of scared and excited at the same time. He was saying that every one keeps a journal, and some of the kids would just sit their and write about their experiences all night, thats how much it affected them. I need a journal, something special that I can take and write in, I also need (or of a better word, want) a new bible. I have one, but it's a tween bible. And I just feel I would benefit more from the trip if I had one that was more me. I'm really looking forward to this trip and meeting the other kids going and the PSLs (Peer Support Leaders). Two of them that have been part of the Reachout family from the beginning are going to take me out one night, seeing as Im the only kid from a rural town. All the others are city kids. This could be fun.
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been checked out the past 2 weeks! Rest assured there will be many photos to come from France!!
Domremy was so incredible, I could literally sit in Joan's little farmhouse all day long, except I was on a tight schedule :/
On the way back I stopped by and saw the outside of Reims Cathedral which was also amazing.
Towards the end of the week I took a train to Rouen, a beautiful old city and saw the square where Joan was burned, marked by a beautiful tall cross. Ā
All in all, this has been an incredible journey, (one that I would recommend to any that can manage!) and one that I will never forget. Ā I can't wait to come again and explore more :)
The Messenger, peace be upon him, said:
'Do not undertake journeys except to three Masajid ā only these, not to graves, nor any place [for worship] ā the Masjid al-Haraam, and this masjid of mine, and Masjid al-Aqsa.ā
