Red:I am addicted to ahi poke, that sumptuous rare tuna mixed with sesame oil.  It is dinner, and it is lunch obviously, but I see no reason it can’t be breakfast too.  And the great thing is that as it reaches the end, it can be stretched with cold vegetables.  Cucumbers.  Radishes. Cilantro

Orange:I am thoroughly enamored with Ray Caesar’s work on the whole, but this painting touches me with it’s incredible richness.  Look at the rippling fabric.  I guess that particularly to a person who remembers the horrible avocado, mustard, rust palette so common in the seventies, to see this deep orange reclaimed and used beautifully is an amazing redemption. 

Yellow: Ginger Soother by the Ginger People.  If I could afford to, I would drink this all day long, everyday.  It is a tonic.  A spiritual and soul healer.  it is a retreat in a glass.  It refreshes the entire system, is balanced and refined.  If I could make it myself, and save four books I would, but alas they have the recipe just right.

Green: This is my favorite, favorite perfume.  It is deceptively complex but with a light hand.  It works for day or night.  It can go absolutely anywhere, without making me feel I’m trying too hard.  It even smells green while also being sweet and nutty.

Blue:OK.  I’m not going to delve, if it isn’t obvious, then nothing I can say would make it so. Tom in Blue, with lovely girly cheekbones.

Indigo: I love this scene.  It’s also interesting that the indigo is not so much the predominating color in Wes Anderson’s palate but an effect of all the jewel-tones married together.  It’s almost a suggestion that the saturation of color in India is so profound that it tricks the eye into simplicity.  Effect indigo, mood indigo.

Violet:Kim Novak and those beautiful violet eyes.  I this poster is from Bell, Book and Candle, which is this lighthearted approach to  mid-century feminism.  It’s also this interesting treatise on authenticity, but I also really love her in The Man with the Golden Arm.  Oh, and my characters Periwick are totally a riff on Kim’s cat Piewackett.
