“Pierre really. You may have abdicated your title but I haven’t- there’s no reason we can’t take the car wherever it is you have planned for this little outing. If you insist on keeping a secret you can tell Joseph and not me.” There was absolutely no reason a queen- dowager or not- should be on public transport. . . for that matter, Pierre might not be- technically- be a prince anymore but there were plenty of people who would use him to hurt his brother.

“You’re not the only one.” It didn’t seem as if Rupert had been dead long enough for the coronation to be so soon. “Yesterday you were five years old asking me what it meant that you were a prince.”

“Do you honestly think your brother listens to me?” He hadn’t listened to a word she’d said since he started at university. “Her intellect aside there’s no real reason we can’t let her come,” There’s certainly be more bothersome people invited for merits beyond dating one of the princes. 

“She hasn’t done anything. . . yet.” Although the closer to the party grew the more inclined she was to have Joseph do a little digging to find something that would make her an entirely inappropriate guest.

She’d only actually been Catholic for a little over a decade- somehow someone has never thought it was a good idea to tell the future Queen of Genovia not getting too in-depth with the Anglican Church was a good idea. Even so she’s always found services of any sort vaguely repetitive.
