“Then, we’re officially past the point where I have anything to wear,” Ashildr’s stylist was busy refilling her wardrobe, but that didn’t make the current moment any less difficult.Â

“You’ve made it farther with this one than any of them before, that’s an accomplishment.” The situation wasn’t exactly desperate yet but the press would have a field day if Ashildr went much longer without having a child.
“He’s been at this a lot longer than you have, he can handle it without you. I promise.”
“Well, that’s certainly a change from fearing we’re so incompetent we’re going to burn the monarchy to the ground. I’m sure Philippe will appreciate the boost of confidence,” Ashildr laughed a little.Â
“I am being very careful not to push myself too far, and Philippe and I are being careful about what events I keep on my schedule. I’m sure I’ll stop everything soon.”
“There was a time he very nearly did burn it all to he ground.” University as a matter of fact. American university... that in hindsight had been a disaster. If Ashildr didn’t in fact have a child there was a future for the monarchy but that was a conversation best left for the future. That child had no idea what her father really was or what her uncle had done to change everyone’s futures.
“You’ve worked longer than I did, and I never had a problem with either of the boys.”
