Traditional Polish pierogi are given a tasty new twist in these More Pierogi Dumplings. You can't say no to these tasty treats because they're filled with creamy mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, and salty bacon. This dish is great for a comforting meal any time of the year.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup warm water. 1 egg. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1 cup mashed potatoes. 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 tablespoons butter. Sour cream and chives for serving.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm water and egg. Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring to form a dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then cover it and let it rest for 30 minutes. While the dough is resting, mix together the mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, chopped onion, and crumbled bacon in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Roll out the rested dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out circles from the dough. Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape, then seal the edges by pressing with a fork. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the dumplings in batches for about 5 minutes or until they float to the surface. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cooked dumplings and saut until they become golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Serve the pierogi dumplings hot with sour cream and chopped chives. Enjoy your delicious More Pierogi Dumplings!

Oh Faye… I just finished another replay of the last update, and I’m mourning. I was crying when I saw the final CG of Saafa, Yasin, Mads, and Ghita. Seeing them all together made me incredibly emotional, and it left me with such a melancholic feeling.
Are you feeling melancholic too, or are you mostly happy that you’ve finished your first big story? You should be incredibly proud of yourself.
I discovered TM last autumn, and it has given me so many emotions ever since. I still remember sitting under a blanket with a cup of tea, wondering what had happened to the child from the first season. And, of course, falling in love with Mads, because obviously he is my husband. He is such an amazing character. He feels like someone real, wounded, shy boy (just like you described him), someone who isn’t afraid to tell you when you’re doing some stupid shit, yet who is incredibly tender and loving in private. He’s the kind of man you just want to hug and scream, “LET ME LOVE YOU.”
I had a feeling he had a difficult relationship with his father, and I somehow imagined his father having a military background. I absolutely loved the way you portrayed Mads’ trauma, even through tiny details like him not liking sweet food. Watching him slowly open up and finally begin to heal was beautiful. And not to mention him being a total freak and needing to let go and trust, their last sex scene was delicious and his question after seeing a gift made me genuinely laugh. He looked like he finally embraced his freaky side and stopped being ashamed of his kinks. Love it. I feel like this update he was finally himself, no walls. Like can I please get a special episode about this man?
Also… Episode 9 was CRAZY.
This message is going to be so long, but I was honestly shocked. I also had a funny little moment because I remember mentioning pierogi once in a message to you here on Tumblr, and then seeing O eating them made me giggle. I loved that little connection with Polish Ghita. And the final truth? Absolutely insane. It really felt like Hoyer gave Ghita everything he never gave O. And the fact that O wanted to hand us over to the French mob as a “gift”… absolutely wild. Honestly, I’m glad there wasn’t a happy ending with O. It was very symbolic that on corrupt path you are claimed by them.
I have MASSIVE withdrawal symptoms. How do I cope now? How did you mourn Derek? I honestly feel like a teenager. I closed the app right after finishing TM, and I’ve only reopened it to replay your story. I don’t even want to look at the other stories right now. That’s how much your writing affected me. (No shade to the other authors - I’m just not emotionally ready to move on yet.)
I actually have so many questions. A LOT of them. Mostly about Ghita and Mads and the milestones in their relationship, but also about your writing process and all the little details behind the story. Hopefully I won’t be too much. I need to sit down and write everything out, but I know you have something planned for the holidays, so I guess I have some time. Making your own headcanons is always fun, but getting to talk about them with the author is something really special.
Thank you, truly, for this journey.
I genuinely think this story will always have a place in my heart.
My darling,
Melancholy was the goal 💜 Russia has their glass, Denmark has their melancholy, I'm happy that the story is out but I'm obviously also sad that it's over, there's a particular emptiness in finishing something you've thought about every day for two years and now I'm aimlessly staring at files and conducting clean-up of all my image references and post-its.
When I finished SOS the first time and had Derek suggest marriage outside that dinner, I was elated, a new start, a fresh page, forget the curse and just move to Baltimore! Run you crazy kids! I fantasised about their life together and I still do, that man has never left me, that is my husband, we are married 😂
Writing fics help? collect fan art? (I notoriously can't draw) support an artist with a commission? analyse things with friends? The end should not be an isolating experience.
I'm gonna host a small event over the summer about The Missing for those interested, more info will come soon. In the meantime, thank you so much for your support and yeah, the pierogi was specifically because of an ask about pierogi, so if that was you, then they were for you 😊
Lots of love!
