As well as all the music, drawing and being a nobhead I also co-run a pie company with my friend Laura. We took some of our delicious (if I do say so myself) pies and scotch eggs to Berlin's king and queen of Blogging, James and Zoe of Überlin fame. Judging by their blog post we definitely left them full of crusty goodness. Introducing The British Cheese Emporium.
A wise man once told me to never trust anyone who doesn't like cheese. This adage seems to have left me in good stead for most of my life, however since moving to Germany it’s left me doubting a whole country. So, in the land that seems to be ruled by Gouda and plastic cheese slices, we were pleasantly surprised to come across The British Cheese Emporium (www.britishcheeseemporium.de).
The British Cheese Emporium is Sally Houben, originally from Wales and now living in Leverkusen. An excellent online cheese shop which has been set up by Sally to help alleviate any pangs of homesickness, and also out of a love of British artisan cheeses. After browsing her site and drooling over the range of cheese from Shropshire Blues to Farmhouse Cheddar we decided we just had to use some in our pies!
So our next weekly special are pies that pay homage to Britain’s finest cheese: Cheddar! After lots of hardwork in the Pieoneers’ kitchen we came up our perfectly posh pork pies... Cave Aged Cheddar & Balsamic Onion Pork Pies! These devilishly more-ish pies will be available from next week. Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Twitter to find out our coming delivery days.
