I don’t know why I’m bothering to write you a goodbye message. It’s not like you cared for me when you were around, so why I cared for you is beyond me.

At first, you seemed to be perfect. You never stopped being nice towards me, and were always there for me when I needed you. I still remember the first time you heard my voice – and then shortly after, invented an excuse for us two to compliment each other. However, I soon learnt that good things never last.

The first time I noticed you acting different was when I came home from a weekend away. You seemed distant. It felt a bit strange, as you always seemed so enthusiastic and warm.

Now, I’ll admit that I haven’t always been perfect, and am willing to take responsibility for that. However, the majority of the reaction I received from 1 mistake (that I immediately apologised for) seemed rather over the top. The initial reaction – sending me a polite message to express your discomfort – was completely understandable, yet the rest of the reaction I am still trying to comprehend as I’m typing this.

Then, in late August, after 9 – yes, 9 – days without a single word from you (aside from monosyllabic answers said in group chats to make you seem polite) I asked you as to why you haven’t messaged me for so long, clearly worried for you. And how did you respond? By belittling me, insulting me, having a pop at my nationality too – how do you think that felt? To be torn down and verbally abused by someone simply for worrying over them!

September 6. A day permanently seared into my brain. I was chatting with B about maybe one day rejoining the server and I simply mentioned your name. Suddenly, after nearly two weeks since you initially stopped messaging me, you send me “May I have a word, Hannah?”. I threw myself into my bedroom, before collapsing onto my bed, hyperventilating and shaking and crying. You terrified me. You took my best friend away from me. You exiled me. And that still wasn’t enough for you. You sent me one last message, in which once again you called me intimidating and then you told me to leave discord. Being the naïve 15 year old girl I was, I replied to your comment through tears and proceeded to delete discord off of my phone.

From then up until the day before my birthday, I was in turmoil. I was scared to answer the door or the phone, just in case you were on the other end, waiting to make my life hell. Whenever I went somewhere public, I was terrified just in case you’d managed to track me down.

The day before my birthday, I saw on tumblr that someone had mentioned you leaving. I asked about to check if it was true. I couldn’t believe it. The friend of mine that you had been so eager to separate me from didn’t even receive a good-bye from you. You had also managed to ‘track’ your copyright strikes to my country aswell, thus suggesting that I did something I have NO IDEA how to do 30+ times. So much for a “true gentleman”.

Cut to when I’m typing this now – it’s the day after the final stream, and I’ve never felt so free. You have no control over me anymore. You can’t do anything to me. I hope karma exists. I hope you soon realise what you did. Until you do,

   And there we have it Professor Layton fans! There is so much more happening in the anime right now than we seem to realize! Of course Level-5 would never give us just a cutesy kid’s show. With new Layton content being released every week, it’s a wonder that we’re not all trying to piece this puzzle together as a community!

      So here’s a proposal, let’s get out there and start solving this mystery! Let the theories fly! I will be updating this blog with possible hints and clues from each of the episodes, and I hope many of you will also go back and try to pick up on these pieces as well. We can’t let Katrielle do all the puzzle solving for us!

    Post your theories, observations, screenshots, anything. Attend Picarats’ livestreams to watch the episodes and investigate on his Youtube channel. It’s going to take a community wide effort to crack this case, and I hope, especially with the puzzle competition happening soon, we will be able to come together and solve this mystery. Remember, the truth, is always stranger than fiction!
