You looked at yourself in the mirror while applying some concealer to cover the dark circles you always carried. You had just taken a bath after your boyfriend woke you up for the first flight of the triple header ahead.
Nerves were everywhere, of course they were. Last time you had gotten sick and you could only hope history wouldnât repeat itself this time.
Lando had gotten out to get you two breakfast as you got ready, and while listening to one of your favorite songs, you now rethought all the plans you two had made for this three race weeks.
The sequence would start in Spain, and you had promised to watch the Real Madrid match with Carlos and his girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson, who youâd met in China. Going off to Austria, you both made some research of the place and put together a schedule of plans to truly meet the country. Lando had already been there, of course, but he didnât really know the place. And then finally, Norris thought about showing you where he grew up in. He still remembered the place like the back of his hand, and he was so excited to let you know that part of himself. Of his story.
You would also get to meet his parents and most of his family, and that was definitely a factor to why you were so anxious. Not in a bad way, though. You had already talked to his mum and dad on face time, and you were pretty sure the rest of his family were really nice, so you just couldnât wait.
Arriving in Spain, after that short flight, every bit of energy you had was now gone. Anyways, your boyfriend still had to drop by at the MTC to do somethings for work and you wated to keep him company. You thought about it as a recompensation for last time, knowing pretty well Lando would kill you if he knew you felt bad for getting sick.
So you accompanied him to the first team meetings, of course it wasn't something you were allowed to attend, so you entertained yourself by getting to know some of the people there, and get even closer to some you already knew from China.
That whole weekend went by pretty well, he got the podium he wanted so much, and the game on the day after was really great to watch. You could talk for someone who never loved the sport, the atmosphere was amazing, and just hearing people chant for their team made you want to pay attention.
Real Madrid ended up winning that game, and you yapped a lot with Rebecca, which got you guys closer to each other.
Once you left for Austria, you started to note your boyfriend a little bit more tired than usual. You asked him, more than once, if he was feeling okay and he always said he was fine. Despite being worried, you let the subject go.
You two still got to visit every place you had planned to visit before the thursday, leaving only the right amount for after the race. That weekend wasn't as good as the last one, seeing as he had to retire his car after coliding with Max.
The boy told you he wasn't feeling as bad as he could've because you were there, and despite believing him, you knew he would beat himself over it. Of course you cuddled the whole sunday, in compensation.
The next day, while you both got ready, you knew he really wasn't okay. It wasn't emotionally, he told you himself the night before. Yes, he was disappointed with how the race had gone but he was not gonna allow that to ruin your plans.
You thought maybe he was just really tired, you know how draining this tripple headers usually were. You had picked up on some little things. It could mean nothing to other people, it was really insignificant, maybe he didn't even notice himself, but you did.
It was the way he didn't purposefully match your steps, the way he was talking less than usual, giving you short answers and never getting into every detail, like he usually did. Also, he got a little more clingy, never letting go of physical contact.
It could all mean nothing, but as his girlfriend, you couldn't help but take note. Something was off and you knew.
But it was when you were flying to England and he slept peacefully the whole flight that you had your confirmation. He was way more tired than he usually was, maybe even more than he sould be.
You knew he was getting sick, or at least had gotten a flu, even if he didn't show any more symptoms. At least you were finally in England. He was home and his family would be here and he would have all the support in the world. That gave you some peace of mind.
It was already thursday when you arrived for Silverstone, so you would have to go through the weekend before going to his home. His family would only be there on the sunday. And so, Friday and Saturday still went by as slowly as possible, for both of you.
You tried asking him multiple times if he was okay, saying he seemed a little off. He always said it was just the effects of all the flying around, and that he was absolutely fine. However, you could still read through him. He was just being stubborn, he didn't want to admit he was sick.
Throughout the whole weekend, he found his way of claiming a step on the podium. Free practices, qualifying, race, always a podium sitter. It wasn't the top step, but considering how tired and sick he seemed, and probably felt, you couldn't be more proud.
His family felt extremely proud as well, and you could see it in their eyes. As you casually chatted with your boyfriend's parents you were able to realize how they loved and cherished their boy.
And the best thing is that you shared that love with them. Lando would never have to doubt any love coming from all of you. And you were happy for that.
When the weekend was finally over, all of you headed out to his hometown. You knew he was more than excited to show you everything, but his bright eyes also showed you he knew he wouldn't be able to, at least not today, since he was desperately needing to get to sleep.
Finally arriving to Norris's childhood home, you and him carried everything up to his room. He layed down on the bed, feeling every single muscle of his body crying for some rest. Lando was just so tired.
You sat down on the bed, next to his head and slowly ran your fingers through his curly hair. He closed his eyes at the feeling and you smiled, looking down at your boy. "You're too tired, baby! I will go tell your mother that you need to sleep and that she doesn't have to worry about us tonight. Okay?"
"Don't do that. I don't want to ruin this for you." He told you. "And I'm the one who is tired, you don't have to stay here, I'll just be sleeping. If you're starting to get nervous about being alone with them, just know you have nothing to worry about. They love you so much already, specially my dad, even if he doesn't show it as much as mama." You smiled as he drew little circle forms in the back of your hand. "I'm being serious, you should've seen them when i told them you were coming. They got so excited."
"It's not that, Lan." You told him, bringing your hand to caress his cheek. "I just don't want to leave you alone when you're dying to ask me to cuddle with you all night." You were about to comment on how you knew him so well, but he interrupted you with a little sneeze.
"I think I'm a little sick." He looked at you with this adorable heart shaped smile and you could only smile back, despite wanting to knock some sense into his head.
"You think, Lando Norris?"
"I am. And I have known for a long time." He chuckled, but as he noticed how serious you were about it all, he spoke up. "I just didn't want to ruin your experience here. It is really important to both of us, and I know you felt bad for getting sick in China. Just, please, dont be mad."
"I am not mad, Lan, I just want you to know that we're here for eachother. I worry for you just as much as you worry for me. But I guess we're even now." You both chuckled lightly.
"Can you talk to my mom? She makes this really great soup whenever I get sick and I love it so much." He asked you, looking just like a little kid. He closed his eyes and reached for your hand. "I'm sorry for being so damn stubborn."
"It's okay, love. I'll go talk to your mother. Get some sleep, I'll wake you up once the soup is ready." You told him, getting up from the bed. He holds your hand and pulls you back. You're surprised with how strong he is despite being sick.
"But I wan't to cuddle..." He opened his eyes to look up at you, and honestly, how could you ever say no to him?
"Okay then. Let me go downstairs, I'll talk to your mum and comeback to cuddle with you. Does that sound good?" He smiled.
"Sounds perfect, love." You get up from the bed and he followed right after. You looked at him with a puzzled expression. "If I stay here I'll end up falling asleep and won't get to cuddle. I am tired but I'm also needy." You chuckled lightly and you both made your way to the living room, where his mother was waiting for you.
He hugged you from behind as he did the talking. Of course that, as a mother, Cisca couldn't help but worry about her son, but she felt he was in good hands with you. However, seeing her worried was one of the cutest things you had ever experienced, how she carefully touched his forehead to check if he had a fever and talked to him about how he felt, it was all adorable, specially the way he allowed himself to be so vulnerable.
Once you got up to the bedroom again, none of you said a thing. You both just layed down and enjoyed the other's presence. He was holding you as close as he could, if he held you tighter you would probably become one, but neither of you could say you didn't like that idea.
It didn't take long for Lando to fall asleep, and you noticed it by the way his breath stilled. You stayed there, cuddled up with him until his grip loosened enough that you could escape without disturbing him. You went downstairs and helped his mother prepare the chicken soup he loved so much.
You both got closer by the second as you helped her put together his meal. His father chatting with you and trying his harder to give you a helping hand. They both expressed how grateful they were that their boy had found someone who cared so much for him, and you were thankful that he had such a loving and welcoming family. A family he already considered you a part of.
Cisca and Adam both agreed that you took the soup upstairs yourself, as he would probably want you there the most. They knew their son.
And so you did, you woke him up and gave him the soup. As you took the spoon to his mouth, an act of love you both loved, he looked at you with his green sleepy eyes. While you focused on not dropping anything, he focused on you.
"I love you." He stated, seemingly out of nowhere, as he finished the soup. "So much" he added.

francisca âkikaâ gomes x !fem piastri driver reader
you never really liked the spotlight, even if driving in formula 1 meant living in it. the interviews, the cameras, the noiseâit all made you feel small in ways the racetrack never did. but then you met francisca gomes at a rhode beauty event, and suddenly, being seen didnât feel so terrifying anymore. you were a mess the first time you tried to talk to herâhands shaking, voice stumbling over simple wordsâbut somehow she only smiled at you like it was the cutest thing in the world. and maybe thatâs when you realized you were in trouble.

Youâve never been the kind of person who enjoys red carpets and flashing cameras. The racetrack feels naturalâhelmet on, engine screaming, the world narrowing into sharp corners and straights. But a beauty event in Miami? Not exactly your usual stomping ground. The only reason you even said yes was because Hailey had personally texted youââYou have to come, babe, I miss youđ€ââand she was someone you could never say no to.
Youâre standing in front of the hotel mirror, smoothing the yellow gown down nervously. It catches the light perfectly, but you canât stop fidgeting with the straps. Your hair is done, your makeup is flawless, but you still feel like the same shy girl whoâd rather be in a hoodie than heels.
âDoes this even look okay?â you ask, spinning toward Oscar, whoâs sprawled across your bed scrolling on his phone.
He looks up, blinks once, then twice. âYou look fine,â he says, in the most painfully monotone brotherly voice possible.
âFine?â you press, raising an eyebrow.
âYeah, fine. Like, good fine. Fancy fine. Whatever.â He waves a hand vaguely, already looking back down at his screen.
You groan, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him. âYouâre the worst.â
âHey,â he mumbles, muffled under the pillow. âIâm just saying. You look good. Happy?â
âNot really,â you mutter, but the corners of your mouth twitch into a smile anyway. Typical Oscar. If he thought you looked bad, heâd tell you. He just wasnât the type to gush.
By the time you arrive at the Rhode Beauty event, your nerves are through the roof. The venue is glowingâsoft lights, flashes from photographers at the entrance, Miami glittering in the distance. You take a deep breath, step out of the car, and immediately spot a familiar face.
âYN!â Alexandra beams, gliding over in a chic yellow two piece that looks effortless and perfect, as always. She hugs you tightly, grounding you a little. âYou look incredible. Haileyâs going to freak out when she sees you.â
You laugh nervously, murmuring a thank you. Youâve always been comfortable with Alexandraâsheâs warm and genuine, a safe person to cling to at overwhelming events like this. Tonight is no exception.
âI have someone I want you to meet,â she says, linking her arm through yours. âSheâs a close friend of mineâyouâll love her.â
Thatâs when you see her.
Francisca Gomes. Kika. Sheâs standing by one of the photobooth backdrops, effortlessly radiant in a silky dress, hair falling in waves, smile bright enough to knock the air out of your lungs. Sheâs chatting with someone, but when Alexandra calls her name, she turnsâand for the first time in your career, you feel like you might actually pass out.
âKika, this is YN,â Alexandra says warmly. âYou know, Oscarâs sister. She drives too.â
Kikaâs eyes light up as she takes you in. âOh my god, hi! Iâve heard so much about you.â
And youâwell, youâre a disaster. Your tongue fumbles, words tangling into one another. âH-hi, um, yeah, youâreâuhâyou lookââ
Kika tilts her head, amused, lips tugging into a soft smile. âI lookâŠ?â she prompts gently.
âYou lookâreally nice,â you blurt, cheeks blazing.
Alexandra giggles softly behind her hand, and Kika just beams at you like youâve said the sweetest thing in the world. âThank you,â she says, voice lilting and kind. âYouâre so cute.â
The word âcuteâ rings in your ears for the rest of the night.
To your surprise, you spend most of the evening with Kika. She makes it easyâalways asking you questions, leaning in when you speak, laughing at your shy, mumbled jokes. Sheâs magnetic, and you find yourself slowly loosening, drawn into her warmth. There are photobooth pictures with Hailey, selfies with Alexandra, a chaotic group mirror photo youâre barely holding it together for because Kikaâs standing right beside you.
And by the time the event winds down, youâre glowing in a way that has nothing to do with color of your dress.
When you finally get back to your hotel room, you expect Oscar to be asleep in his own and Lando probably out at some club. Instead, theyâre both sitting on your bed like two disapproving fathers, arms crossed.
âWhere have you been?â Lando demands dramatically, though he canât hide his grin.
âItâs literally midnight,â you point out.
Oscar raises an eyebrow. âYou look⊠happy. Suspiciously happy. You didnât even want to go to this event.â
You drop your bag, tryingâand failingâto smother the smile spreading across your face. âI just⊠met someone.â
Lando gasps, throwing himself backward onto the bed. âShe has a crush! Finally!â
Oscar groans, dragging a hand down his face. âGod help us.â
And you canât stop grinning, heart racing at the memory of Kikaâs smile. For the first time in a long time, the chaos of the spotlight doesnât feel so overwhelming. Not when it comes with the chance to see her again.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
The first thing you notice when you wake up isnât the sunlight filtering through the curtains, or the faint sound of Miami traffic outside the hotel. Itâs the way your heart jumps at the memory of last night. The laughter, the photos, the way Kika leaned in so close when you spoke, like you were the only person in the room.
You roll over, grab your phone from the nightstandâand nearly drop it when you see the notification.
good morning, gorgeous. i was wondering if youâd like to get brunch today? đ€
Your stomach flips. You donât even hesitate before typing back, fingers flying.
yes!! absolutely. just tell me when and where and iâll be there
You stare at the message after sending it, horrified at your double exclamation marks. Too eager? Too much? But before you can spiral, three dots appear.
haha perfectđ«¶đ» thereâs a little place by the beach, iâll send you the pin. 11?
iâll see you there :)
You throw yourself back into the pillows with a groan, grinning so wide your cheeks hurt.
The excitement bubbles over, and thereâs only one person you want to tell immediately. You hit FaceTime, and after a few rings, your younger sisterâs face pops up on the screen.
âWhy are you calling me atââ Hattie squints at the clock behind her, then back at you. ââwhat is it? Nine in the morning there? You never wake up this early on your own.â
You canât even be offended. âBecause something happened.â
Hattieâs eyes widen, and she sits up straighter. âWait. Did youâoh my god. Did you meet someone?â
You cover your face with one hand, but the grin gives you away. âMaybe.â
âWho?!â she squeals. âTell me right now.â
You bite your lip, trying not to combust. âFrancisca Gomes.â
Thereâs a pause. Then Hattie lets out the loudest shriek youâve ever heard. âKIKA? Like actual Kika? As in, one of the prettiest women alive??â
âYes,â you mumble, cheeks on fire.
âShut up. No way. And? And??â
âShe asked me to brunch,â you blurt, voice high-pitched with disbelief.
Hattie gasps again, practically bouncing on her bed through the screen. âYouâre going on a date.â
âItâs just brunch,â you argue weakly, tugging at the strap of your sleep tank.
âYeah, with her.â Hattie narrows her eyes, grinning like the devil. âOh my god, youâre in love already.â
You groan, dropping your head into your hands. âWhy are you like this?â
âBecause itâs true,â she sings. âAnd donât worry, Iâll keep your little secret⊠for now.â
By the time you hang up, youâre in full-on panic mode, rifling through your suitcase for something brunch-appropriate. After cycling through half your wardrobe, you settle on a breezy sundress and sandalsâsimple, but put together. You swipe on lip gloss, check your hair three times in the mirror, and try not to overanalyze the butterflies swarming your stomach.
Finally, you grab your bag and head for the lobby.
Unfortunately, the universe clearly enjoys tormenting you, because Lando and Oscar are planted on one of the couches, coffees in hand. Both heads snap up the second they see you.
âWhere are you going?â Lando asks immediately, narrowing his eyes.
âOut,â you reply vaguely, walking a little too quickly toward the doors.
Oscar leans forward. âOut where? Youâre dressed up.â
Lando gasps dramatically. âYou have a date, donât you?â
Your face burns. âItâs not a date.â
âThatâs exactly what someone on a date would say,â Lando mutters, eyes gleaming with mischief.
You push his shoulder as you pass. âMind your own business, Norris.â
Oscar just sighs. âDonât miss media, YNâ he says dryly.
You stick your tongue out at both of them and escape into the Miami sunshine before they can press you any further.
âHi!â she says brightly when she sees you, standing to pull you into a quick hug. Her perfume is warm, sweet, dizzying. âIâm so glad you came.â
âOf course,â you manage, heart pounding.
You sit across from her, trying to ignore how your knees almost brush under the small table.
The waiter comes by, and Kika insists you try the iced passionfruit juice, ordering it for you with a wink. When the drinks arrive, you take a sip and nearly choke when itâs genuinely delicious.
âTold you,â she says smugly, sipping hers through a straw.
She asks about your racing, about what itâs like being Oscarâs sister on the grid, about growing up in Australia. You ask about her modeling, her favorite places sheâs traveled. Every answer feels like peeling back another layer, and youâre entranced.
At one point, she laughs at something you sayâreally laughs, throwing her head backâand you swear the entire world could stop and you wouldnât notice.
âYouâre not as shy as you think, you know,â she says at one point, smiling softly at you over the rim of her glass. âYouâre just careful with who you open up to. I think thatâs really lovely.â
Your throat tightens. No oneâs ever put it that way before. By the time brunch is over, youâre a mess all over again. She insists on walking you out, and as youâre about to part ways, she squeezes your hand.
âSee you tomorrow?â she asks, eyes glimmering.
You nod, trying not to combust. âDefinitely.â
She grins, kisses your cheek so casually you nearly melt into the sidewalk, and then sheâs gone, waving as she heads off toward her car.
You stand there, clutching your phone, pulse racing. This wasnât just brunch. And if you werenât in trouble before, you definitely are now.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
The paddock is alive, the hum of engines echoing in the distance as mechanics rush about and engineers chatter into headsets. Qualifying is just minutes away, and youâre in the Red Bull garage, helmet resting on the counter beside you, tugging your gloves on and trying to keep your heart steady.
This is usually the calm before the storm for you. Focus, routine, block everything else out. But today, youâre distractedâyour thoughts wandering to a certain brunette who kissed your cheek again yesterday.
âGood luck, sunshine.â
You glance up and immediately smile when you see Lily walking toward you, weaving through the bustle with her usual grace. Sheâs been around for years, practically family at this point. She pulls you into a warm hug, the kind that makes you feel safe even in the chaos.
âYou always sneak down here before quali,â you say with a grin. âStarting to think itâs my good luck charm.â
âMaybe it is,â she teases. Then she narrows her eyes, lowering her voice conspiratorially. âSo. Tell me about this new crush of yours.â
Your jaw drops, cheeks heating instantly. âOh my god. Did Oscar tell you? He cannot keep his mouth shut!â
Lily laughs, delighted, and nudges your shoulder. âHe didnât tell me everything. Just that thereâs someone whoâs been making you smile like an idiot lately.â
You groan, covering your face with your hands. âUnbelievable.â
âCome on,â she coaxes gently, eyes sparkling. âYou know you want to gush. Who is she?â
You peek at her through your fingers, heart thudding. Itâs not hard to admitâif anything, itâs been sitting at the tip of your tongue since brunch. âItâs⊠Francisca. Kika.â
Lilyâs eyebrows shoot up, a grin spreading across her face. âNo way. The model? YN, sheâs gorgeous.â
âI know,â you blurt, throwing your hands up. âSheâs so gorgeous I canât function when she looks at me. Like, I completely forget how to talk. I make a fool out of myself every time.â
âAnd she likes it,â Lily says knowingly, like sheâs already pieced it together.
You bite your lip, unable to hide your smile. âShe asked me to brunch. And it was⊠really nice.â
Lily squeals softly, squeezing your hands. âIâm so happy for you. You deserve someone who makes you feel like that.â
Before you can say anything more, Alexandra appears in the garage, her hand linked with someone elseâs. âI thought weâd stop by before quali,â she announces, tugging her friend forward. âHope you donât mind.â
And then you see her.
Kika. Radiant as ever, even in a simple outfitâjeans, a cropped top, sunglasses tucked into her neckline. Her smile is soft, tentative, as her eyes find yours.
âI just wanted to wish you good luck,â she says gently, stepping closer.
The garage is loud, busy, overwhelmingâbut the moment narrows to just the two of you. Your chest tightens, heat rising in your cheeks, but for once you donât stumble over your words.
âThank you,â you say, voice soft but steady. âIâm really glad you did.â
Her smile widens, her hand brushing against your arm for just a secondâso subtle no one else would notice, but enough to make your skin tingle. âIâll be cheering for you.â
Alexandra and Lily exchange looks behind her, both smiling like they know something you donât.
âAlright,â Lily says finally, hugging you one last time. âGo make us proud. And maybe dedicate a lap to your new good luck charm, hm?â
You groan, but Kika just laughs, eyes glimmering as if the idea secretly pleases her.
As Lily and Alexandra start to leave, Kika lingers for a heartbeat longer, lowering her voice so only you can hear. âYouâll do amazing. Just drive the way you always do.â
And then sheâs gone, disappearing into the sea of red uniforms, leaving you with a racing heart and a smile you canât shakeâeven as your engineers call you over for final checks.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
Qualifying ends in a blur of adrenaline, tire smoke, and radio chatter. By the time you roll back into the pit lane, your heart is still hammering, sweat beading under your race suit.
âP2, YN! Incredible lap,â your engineerâs voice crackles through the comms. âMax on pole, Oscar right behind you. Fantastic job.â
You can barely contain your grin as you climb out of the car, helmet tucked under your arm. Max is already there, pulling you into a quick hug, his usual smirk wider than normal.
âGood job, rookie,â he teases, though the pride in his voice is unmistakable. âNot bad for a little Piastri.â
You roll your eyes, but it feels goodâfamiliar, warm. Oscar appears a moment later, tugging off his balaclava, cheeks flushed from the heat. He looks proud too, and before you can say anything, Lily is darting forward, throwing her arms around him.
âYou were amazing!â she says, voice muffled against his chest. Then she turns, grabbing you too, pulling you both into a tangled three-way hug. âBoth of you! My favorites, right here.â
You laugh, trying to steady your racing heart, but thenâout of the corner of your eyeâyou see her.
Kika.
Sheâs weaving her way through the crowd, Alexandra just a step behind her. She looks impossibly beautiful in the afternoon sun, her hair shining, her smile soft and proud. And sheâs walking straight toward you.
Your breath catches, and you almost fumble your helmet. Lily notices immediately, pulling back with a knowing look before conveniently turning to Oscar, giving you space.
âCongratulations,â Kika says when she reaches you, her voice gentle but clear over the chaos. Her eyes shine, taking you in. âThat was incredible, YN.â
You swallow hard, cheeks warming. âThank you. I, uh⊠I didnât expect P2.â
âWell, I did,â she replies easily, and the sincerity in her voice makes your chest ache. She reaches out, brushing a speck of dust from your suit, fingers lingering just a moment too long. âYou looked so focused out there. Iâm so proud of you.â
The words hit you harder than the checkered flag ever could.
Around you, the garage is buzzingâmechanics cheering, cameras flashing, Max joking with Laurent, Oscar debriefing with a member of the press. But none of it registers. Itâs just her, standing here, making you feel like qualifying P2 is the biggest win of your life.
âIâm really glad you are here,â you murmur, voice barely above a whisper.
Her smile softens, almost shy now. âI told you Iâd be cheering.â
And for a fleeting moment, itâs like the world shrinks down to just the two of youâthe shy driver and the radiant model, caught in a bubble of quiet sweetness amid the chaos of Formula 1.
You donât even notice Alexandra smirking knowingly from a few feet away, or Lily whispering something to Oscar with a mischievous grin. All you can think about is how close Kika is, and how you never want her to stop looking at you the way she is right now.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
The restaurant is quiet, tucked away on a side street where the four of you can eat without flashing cameras or fans sneaking photos through the window. Youâre seated at a round table, dim candles flickering between plates of pasta and wine glasses, the low hum of conversation filling the background.
Landoâs already halfway through his bowl of gnocchi, gesturing wildly with his fork as he retells some exaggerated story about Carlos and a golf cart incident in Spain. Lily is laughing so hard sheâs nearly crying, while Oscar just shakes his head in his usual unimpressed way.
Youâre smiling, but your mind drifts. You havenât stopped thinking about Kika since qualifying. Her words, her hand brushing your arm, the way she made you feel like you were the only person in the garage. The memory makes your stomach twist and your chest ache.
âAlright, youâre quiet,â Lando says suddenly, pointing his fork at you. âThat means youâre either plotting something, or youâre thinking about her.â
You blink, caught. âIâm notââ
âYes, you are,â Oscar interrupts flatly, sipping his water. âYouâve had that same stupid look on your face since yesterday.â
Your cheeks heat instantly. âOkay, fine. Maybe I am thinking about her. But I donât know what to do. Like⊠at all.â
Thereâs a pause. Then Lando slams his fork down with mock seriousness. âKiss her.â
You groan, burying your face in your hands. âItâs not that simple!â
âYeah, it is,â Lando insists, leaning forward. âStep one: lean in. Step two: lips. Step three: magic.â
Oscar shrugs, leaning back in his chair. âI just say⊠youâre gay if you donât kiss her.â
You peek at him through your fingers, deadpan. âIâm gay if I do or donât, nothing changes that, twat.â
Lily bursts into laughter, covering her mouth, while Lando nearly chokes on his wine. Oscar just raises his eyebrows, as if heâs proven some kind of point.
âSeriously though,â you say, lowering your hands. âSheâs⊠sheâs Kika. Sheâs gorgeous, and confident, and so put-together. And Iâm⊠me. Shy, awkward, I barely know how to talk when sheâs around. What if I mess it up?â
Lily reaches across the table, squeezing your hand warmly. âSweetheart, the way she looks at you? You couldnât mess it up if you tried. She clearly likes you exactly as you are. Thatâs the whole point.â
âExactly,â Lando chimes in. âGirls love when youâre awkward. Trust me, itâs charming.â
âYouâve literally never been charming in your life,â Oscar mutters.
âOi!â Lando scowls, throwing a breadstick at him.
You giggle despite yourself, the tension in your chest easing. Lily smiles at you knowingly. âJust⊠trust yourself, YN. She already knows youâre shy. She likes it. So stop overthinking, and just let it happen when it feels right.â
You nod slowly, her words sinking in. Maybe sheâs right. Maybe it doesnât have to be complicated.
The rest of the dinner carries on in its usual chaotic rhythmâLando cracking jokes, Oscar making dry remarks, Lily keeping the peace. But underneath it all, you feel lighter. Hopeful. Because for the first time, you start to believe that maybe, just maybe, you wonât mess this up.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
You wake that morning with impossibly loud butterflies in your stomach. The sky outside is clear, promising sun and speed. Itâs race day. All the buildup, all the nervesâall of it comes down to this. You dress in your Red Bull jacket and a pair of jeansâevery inch of you feels alive, electric, and spinning with possibility.
You head to the grid with Oscar and Lando by your side. Oscar gives you a nod, tight smile. Lando shouts something encouragingâsomething about making them eat their hats if you win. Lily is already in the stands, a wave and a grin reserved just for you, and you catch a glimpse of Kika near the pit wall, relaxed but watching, eyes locked every time youâre in sight.
The race launches in a roar. Tires grip. Heart pounds. You fight for position, work with the car, pull every ounce of focus, every drop of courage. Max stays just ahead, pushing you. Oscar is close behind. The laps fly by, sweat, grit, engine roar, strategy calls. When thereâs a chanceâwhen Max gives you an openingâyou take it. Itâs perfect and trembling. You pass him, then hold him off as the laps wind down.
And then⊠you cross the line first.
The moment the checkered flag flutters, youâre hyperaware of everything: the roar of the crowd, the crackle of your radio, the vibration under your hands. You slow the car, heart threatening to burst.
âTHATâS POLE YN!â your engineers shout.
You pull into the pit lane. Mechanics are cheering. You climb out, helmet off, chest heaving. Oscar comes running up, scuffed suit, face breaking into a grin. Lando is bounding out of the pits, clapping, whooping. Lily is down by the fence, tears glinting in her eyes, waving frantically, jumping with joy. You lock eyes with her, and she mouths, you did it.
Your legs feel weak as you walk toward the barrier, every step heavy with disbelief and joy. Cameras flashing, microphones shoved forward, but you hardly register them. All you see is Kika.
Sheâs ahead of the crowd, closer than you expected, sheâs moved forward somehow, stepping through the scramble. Her hair falls in curls; her smile is wide, proud. Her eyes shine brighter than the sun. She steps up to the barrier just as you reach it.
You canât help the relief, the delight, the way your chest is so full it might shatter.
âKika,â you breathe, reaching out.
She lifts her hand, touching your cheek, fingertips warm. âYN, you were incredible,â she says, voice gentle but firm, like she means every word. She leans in, closerâjust an inchâand then:
You kiss her.
Not carefully, not timidly, but full of everything: adrenaline, gratitude, something like dreaming. The world around you fades: cars, cameras, cheers, everything except you and her. You taste champagne on her breath, hear the gasps and cheers behind her, but for a second itâs just breathing together, heartbeats synced.
She kisses you back, laughs softly into it, wraps an arm around your neck. Your hands go to her waist, holding close. Then she pulls back just enough to rest her forehead against yours.
âYou deserve this,â she whispers.
You can hardly speak. âIâthank you. For⊠for being my good luck.â
She smiles, brushing hair off your face. âAlways.â
After the kiss, people erupt around youâcheers, congratulations from your team, your family. Oscarâs shouting your name, Lilyâs crying, Landoâs back-slapping you so hard your ribs ache. Youâre glowing, shining. Kika stays by your side, walking with you toward the podium zone, leaning in close, words whispered just for you: âI was so proud,â âyou killed it out there,â âlook at you.â
You climb the podiumâfirst place feels surreal. The Australian national anthem plays. You hold the trophy up. For a moment, you close your eyes and think of every step that got you here: starting kart races, shy interviews, dressing unsure, stealing glances whenever Kika entered the room.
When the photographers swarm, Lily is in the crowd, waving, and you spot Kika again, front row, no barrier now. After the photos, she joins you on the podium stairs, and wraps you in a hug. The press crowd parts, snapping pictures of the two of youâher cheek pressed to yours.
Kika leans over from behind, whispering jokes: âYou owe me a kiss for every second you didnât think youâd do this.â
You laugh, pressing lips to cheek. Then another kissâthis one more confident, more certain. The world watches. And somewhere in your chest, something soft gives way: this, right here, is more than you ever dared hope.

The night after your win feels like a blur. Champagne, podium interviews, the sea of team members hugging you, Oscar spinning you around like you were five years old again, Lando somehow getting ahold of his own Red Bull and spraying you to no end. You should be exhaustedâbut thereâs only one thing on your mind: Kika.
When you finally check your phone in the hotel room, thereâs a text waiting.
dinner? just us. no cameras, no noise. i will make the reservation. you deserve to celebrate properly!
You read it three times, heart racing. Just us.
You reply immediately:
yes. a thousand times yes!
By the time youâre standing outside the small, candlelit restaurant tucked away in Miami, nerves tangle with excitement. Youâve faced down Max Verstappen wheel-to-wheel at 200 miles per hour, but somehow thisâwaiting for Kikaâmakes your palms sweat more.
She arrives minutes later, wearing a soft, flowing dress the color of champagne bubbles. When she sees you, her whole face lights up, and she loops her arm through yours without hesitation.
âYouâre glowing,â she teases as the host leads you to your table. âRace win suits you.â
âYouâre stunning,â you fire back, then instantly cringe.
She giggles, squeezing your hand. âWeâre off to a good start.â
The restaurant is warm and quiet, soft piano playing under the chatter of a few other diners. Your table is tucked in a corner, lit by one flickering candle. Kika takes the seat across from you, chin resting on her hand as she watches you with that unreadable, amused smile.
You open the menu mostly to avoid combusting under her gaze.
âEverything looks good,â you murmur.
âI already know what I want,â she says.
âI already know what I want,â she says.
Heat rushes to your cheeks, and you nearly knock your water glass over. âYou canât justâsay things like that.â
âWhy not?â she says, laughing softly. âYouâre adorable when you blush.â
Dinner is easy. Conversation flows between giggles and soft admissions: she talks about her modeling work, the whirlwind travel, how exhausting it can be to never really stop. You talk about racing, about your nerves, about how Oscar is half big brother, half nagging coach.
At one point, Kika tilts her head and says, âI thought youâd be more intimidating. Youâre so fearless on track.â
âIâm fearless because there are no beautiful women on track distracting me,â you shoot back, and then slap your hand over your mouth like you didnât mean to say it.
She laughs so hard she almost spills her wine. âIâll take that as a compliment.â
You turn, and thereâs Lando. Outside. Nose practically pressed against the glass like a kid at a candy shop.
He waves enthusiastically. You bury your face in your hands.
âOh my god,â you groan. âHe followed me.â
Kika giggles, lifting her phone and snapping a picture of him before he scurries off down the sidewalk. âHeâs very protective. Itâs cute.â
âHeâs insufferable,â you mumble, but you canât help laughing too.
After dinner, you walk together along the quiet street, the humid night air soft against your skin. Youâre both full and happy, hand brushing against hers until she laces your fingers together.
âThis was perfect,â you whisper.
She stops walking, turns to you with that same glowing smile. âNot over yet.â
And then she leans in, pressing the gentlest kiss against your lips, sweet and unhurried. You melt instantly, heart skipping, hands tightening around hers. When she pulls back, she looks so fond it nearly undoes you.
âI like you, YN,â she says simply.
Your grin feels unstoppable. âI like you too. A lot.â
When you finally part ways at the hotel doors, Kika squeezes your hand one last time and kisses your cheek, promising, âMore dates after more wins.â
You head upstairs, giddy, only to find Lando and Oscar waiting in the hallway like the worldâs worst bodyguards.
âDid you admit you loveeeee her?â Lando demands immediately.
You shove past him, still smiling like an idiot.
Oscar just mutters, âFinally,â and follows you inside.

đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
The Red Bull motorhome is buzzing with energy. Staff members come and go with coffees, engineers whisper over data sheets, TV screens flicker with practice highlights. And in the middle of it all sits Kika, cross-legged in one of the sleek blue chairs, completely at ease with a cup of tea in her hands.
Sheâs been here before, in the paddock, but this is the first time sheâs here for you. Everyone knows it. She has that unmistakable glow of someone both proud and smitten, eyes flicking to the doors every few seconds as if sheâs waiting for you to walk in.
Instead, Max arrives first.
âAh,â he says, spotting her immediately. âThe famous Kika.â He drops into the seat opposite like he owns the place, mischievous grin already forming.
Seconds later, Oscar joins in, sliding in beside Max with the air of someone who has been waiting for this opportunity. âFinally,â he mutters, pretending to check his watch. âBeen wondering when Iâd get the chance to interrogateâuh, I mean, meet you properly.â
Kika blinks once, then smiles like sheâs just been given the best entertainment of the weekend. âIs this the part where you two scare me off?â
âYes,â Max deadpans. âExactly this part.â
Oscar leans forward, folding his hands like a disapproving father. âSo. What are your intentions with my sister?â
Kika actually laughs, head tipping back. âOh, youâre doing that bit. Adorable.â
Max squints. âDonât get too comfortable. Weâre very serious.â
âYouâre very dramatic,â she counters, raising a brow.
Oscar points at Max. âHe is. Iâm just cautious.â Then, to Kika: âDo you realize sheâs never liked anyone enough to even ask them out?â
Kika softens at that, fingers brushing the rim of her cup. âI do realize. And I donât take it lightly.â
That earns her a quick pause from both. Max shifts, almost like he wasnât expecting sincerity. Oscar clears his throat.
ââŠThatâs actually a good answer,â he mutters.
Max waves it off. âDoesnât matter. I still need to know if youâre distracting her before qualifying.â
âOh, sheâs plenty focused,â Kika says sweetly, sipping her tea. âShe beat you in practice, didnât she?â
Max sputters. Oscar slaps the table and laughs so loud a couple mechanics turn to look.
âOh, I like you,â Oscar says, wiping tears from his eyes.
Max narrows his eyes but the corner of his mouth twitches. Heâs fighting a smile.
Thatâs the scene you walk into: Kika looking entirely too pleased, Oscar giggling, Max pretending to be cross.
âReally?â you say, hands on hips. âI leave you two alone with her for ten minutes and youâre already playing twenty questions?â
âThey started it,â Kika says innocently, batting her lashes.
Oscar immediately defends himself. âItâs brotherly duty! We had to test her.â
âShe passed,â Max admits reluctantly, leaning back in his chair. âBut only because sheâs annoyingly quick with comebacks.â
You groan, stepping over to plant a kiss on Kikaâs hair before glaring at both men. âYouâre supposed to be focusing on the race, not my love life.â
âYour love life is the race,â Oscar shoots back, grinning. âHigh stakes. Big drama. Very entertaining.â
Max shrugs. âI just want to make sure sheâs not stealing your pace.â
Kika meets your eyes over the rim of her tea, lips twitching. âDonât worry. If anything, I plan on being her lucky charm.â
That makes your heart skip. You lean down to whisper, âYou already are.â
Oscar groans. Max makes gagging noises.
âOkay, enough,â you laugh, dragging Kika out of her chair and toward the exit. âYou two are banned from speaking to her without supervision.â
As the door closes behind you, you hear Oscar call, âWeâre just sayingâwe approve!â and Max adding, âDonât let it get to your head!â
Kika is giggling so hard she can barely walk straight. She squeezes your hand and murmurs, âTheyâre ridiculous. I adore them.â
You sigh, but youâre smiling too. âGod help me if you actually become friends with them.â
âI think I already have,â she teases, bumping her shoulder into yours.
And honestly? You wouldnât have it any other way.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
You walk into the suiteâthe one with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lit track, city lights shimmering, the hum of night still echoing after the roar of the race. The adrenalineâs finally coming down; exhaustion settles in your bones, but your heart is still racing in the best way. The suite smells of fresh sheets, lavender from the diffuser, and something faintly of victory.
Kika is already there, sitting cross-legged on the plush rug in front of the low couch, barefoot, her race bag tossed to the side. She looks up when you enter, eyes soft, proud, and like sheâs been waiting for you. She pats the spot beside her.
She stands, walks over, and catches your face in her handsâcareful, loving.
âYouâre shining,â she says quietly. âStill.â
You try not to laugh, still in that post-race high. âIâm exhausted,â you admit, leaning into her touch. âFeels unreal.â
She brushes a thumb over your cheek. âYou earned this. Youâve earned all of it.â
You settle beside her. For a moment, you just drink in her presenceâthe shape of her smile, the warmth in her eyes, the fragrance of her skin.
Then she rises, pulling you gently by hand. âCome on,â she says. âI ordered something.â
You follow her to the small balcony. Thereâs a table set up with two glasses of champagne, a petite cheese board, strawberries, dark chocolate, and a soft throw blanket over one chair. The glow from inside spills out, mingling with moonlight.
She pours you a glass, hands steady. âTo you,â she says, raising hers. âTo your win. To more nights like this.â
You clink glasses, sip. The champagneâs cold, crisp; your throat burns a little.
She hands you a strawberry. You taste itâsweet, juicyâand lean forward, catching her lips in a soft kiss.
âThis is perfect,â you whisper, when you pull away just enough to see her face.
She grins, teeth a little chocolate-smudged. âNot done yet.â
You wrap the blanket around both of you and sit side by side. Your shoulder rests against hers. She tells you about the photographers coming over after the race, about how she saw your team glowing about you. You tell her how you could barely remember what you said in the interview because all you could think about was seeing her smile in the crowd.
Laughter comes easy. You make jokes about how Lando will definitely tease you mercilessly tomorrow. She says she wants to meet Lando againââon more equal footing,â as she puts it.
After awhile, she reaches for your hand. Fingers entwined.
âPromise me,â she says, voice low. âOn the nights when youâre tired, when you doubtâyouâll remember tonight. Remember this feeling.â
You squeeze her hand in return. âI promise.â
She leans in and kisses you againâslow, soft, a kiss that tastes like relief and happiness and everything you fought for.
When it gets late, you retreat inside. The lights dim. She pulls you down on the bed beside her. She wraps her arms around you from behind, chin resting on your shoulder. You lie like that for a while in silence; the world outside forgotten.
You drift off, the last thing you feel is her hand in yours, that steady pulse, the warmth of her breath against your skin, and the quiet full certainty that thisâright hereâis everything you want.

The heat hits you the moment you step off the plane in Melbourne, sunlight bouncing off the tarmac, the humid warmth wrapping around you like a hug. Youâve been waiting weeks for this: the F1 summer break, your family, andâmost importantlyâKika arriving in Australia to meet everyone properly for the first time.
Oscar is already waiting at the arrivals gate, looking effortlessly casual in shorts and a t-shirt, Lily at his side, hair still damp from a morning swim. The moment Kika steps through the sliding doors, your chest tightens in that familiar way. She looks radiant even after a long flight, hair tousled, sunglasses perched atop her head, a small bag slung over one shoulder.
âYN!â she calls, waving. You sprint forward, almost colliding into her in your hug, laughing when she nearly topples backward. âYou look amazing!â
âYou flew like⊠hours,â you gasp, holding her at armâs length, studying her face. âHow are you not exhausted?â
âI have adrenaline,â she says with a grin. âAnd the thought of meeting your entire family in one go. Terrifying and exciting.â
Oscar laughs behind you. âYouâll survive. Mostly.â
Lily smirks. âThey are easy to handle. Mostly.â
Before Kika can answer, your sisters appearâMae first, practically bouncing in excitement. âYouâre finally here!â she squeals, dragging Kika into a hug. âYN talks about you nonstop. I already love you.â
Edie and Hattie follow, both grinning wide. Edie gives a more composed hug, but Hattie, true to form, launches herself at Kika like sheâs known her forever.
âBrace yourself,â you whisper in Kikaâs ear. âThis is basically a family welcome assault.â
Kika laughs, a little breathless, but completely enchanted. âIâve got this,â she whispers back, squeezing your hand.
The drive to the house is filled with chatter. Kika is already answering questions about her modeling, life on the road, even joking with your sisters about how she survives airports and media scrutiny. Youâre riding shotgun, hand tucked in hers, watching her laugh at one of Hattieâs jokes and feeling your chest swell.
By the time you pull into the driveway of your familyâs sunlit home, the smell of the ocean on the breeze, the excitement is nearly unbearable. The backyard is perfect: a pool glistening in the sunlight, a barbecue ready to go, and your parents waving from the porch. Nicole greets Kika with a warm hug and a twinkle in her eye.
âItâs so good to finally meet you,â she says. âYN has said the nicest things.â
Kika blushes. âAll true, I promise.â
Lunch is a chaotic but perfect affair. Your sisters hover, peppering Kika with questions about her favorite foods, music, and whether sheâs good at beach volleyball. Kika laughs, dodging Hattieâs overly competitive challenges, and your mom watches with soft amusement.
Oscar and Lily sit back, quietly observing the madness, while you hover beside Kika, passing her drinks and occasionally whispering jokes. She leans into you during a particularly ridiculous story about your familyâs holiday traditionâhurling water balloons at unsuspecting neighborsâand you canât stop yourself from kissing the side of her head.
âSee?â you murmur. âTheyâre actually normal. Mostly.â
Kika laughs, squeezing your hand under the table. âI can tell. And I like them already.â
The afternoon drifts lazily. Some of you swim, some lounge, some play cards at the outdoor table. Kika ends up joining Mae and Hattie in the pool, laughing hysterically as Hattie tries to push her under. Edie sits on the edge, towel over her shoulders, watching with a smile. You stay close by the lounge chairs, sharing quiet kisses in the shade.
Oscar, ever the big brother, keeps one eye on everything, and Lily teases you about how protective he is. âWatch him,â she whispers. âHeâs lowkey testing her already.â
Kika meets your gaze, eyes sparkling. âIâll survive him. Or at least Iâll make him laugh.â
You grin. âI think heâll like you even more when you do.â
Dinner is a barbecue, everyone gathered around a grill lit with bright flames, music playing softly. Nicole hands Kika a plate piled high with prawns and corn, Mae and Edie pass side dishes, and Hattie keeps making jokes about how sheâs officially one of the family now.
At one point, you sneak away to the balcony overlooking the pool with Kika. She leans against you, head on your shoulder, the warm night air brushing against your skin.
âThis is⊠perfect,â she murmurs. âYour family, your home⊠you.â
You nuzzle her hair. âI wanted you to see all of it. You fit in already, Kika. I know it.â
She smiles, kissing your cheek softly. âI hope so. I want to.â
You squeeze her hand, and for the first time in weeks, you feel completely at ease. Surrounded by your family, laughter echoing from inside, stars overhead and the soft glow of the backyard lights⊠this is happiness.
And Kika, your hand in hers, is right at the center of it.
đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â đ€Ł.đ„§.đĄŒ.â
bonus scene : the girls force oscar to go shopping!
The morning sun streams into the apartment in Melbourne, and Oscar groans as he stretches, clearly aware that today is not going to be âjust another relaxing summer day.â
âWhy am I awake so early?â he mutters, rubbing his eyes.
âYouâre awake because youâre coming shopping with us,â Nicole announces from the kitchen, a cup of coffee in hand and that gleam in her eye that Oscar knows all too well.
âUs?â He peers around. Lily, Kika, and you are all standing there, perfectly coordinated in cheerful summer outfits, grinning at him.
âYes, us,â Lily says sweetly, though the sparkle in her eyes betrays the mischief brewing. âYouâre coming whether you like it or not. We have plans for you.â
âPlans?â Oscar echoes, frowning.
âFashion plans,â Kika says, tilting her head. âWeâre going to make you look⊠spectacular.â
He sits down on the couch as if that could make the idea go away, arms crossed, but thereâs an undercurrent of amusement in your eyes.
âYou do trust us, right?â Nicole adds, sliding a pair of sunglasses onto her face. âI promise itâll be fun.â
Oscar sighs, giving in with a resigned, âFine, but Iâm not buying anything ridiculous.â
The streets of Melbourne are buzzing as the five of you enter a chic boutique. The store immediately smells of leather and perfume, a soft playlist humming in the background. The sales assistant greets you warmly, eyes flicking at Kika and you, clearly aware of who you are.
Kika hands Oscar a crisp white button-down shirt. âTry this on. Itâs classic. Clean. Very you⊠except, better.â
He holds it up, peering at it suspiciously. âBetter?â
âYes,â Kika insists, smiling as she tilts her head. âYouâll see.â
Nicole and Lily grab a few more items, some bold, some more playful. Oscar groans but dutifully heads to the changing room.
When he emerges wearing the white shirt, perfectly tucked into tailored navy trousers, Lily and Nicole immediately start clapping.
âNot bad,â Lily teases. âSee? Shopping can be fun.â
Oscar rolls his eyes but a faint blush creeps across his cheeks. Lily approaches and adjusts the collar slightly, brushing her fingers along his neck. âHonestly⊠you look amazing. Way better than I imagined.â
He freezes for a second, then mutters, âStop⊠stop looking at me.â
You nudge him gently. âJust admit itâyou like the outfit.â
He groans dramatically, but the twitch of his mouth betrays a smile.
Next up: bold options. Nicole holds up a bright patterned shirt.
âTry this,â she commands, holding it up against him. âJust for fun.â
âI am not a walking disco ball,â he protests.
âYouâll survive,â Kika assures him. âAnd Iâll make sure you look half way decent while you do.â
Oscar disappears into the changing room again, and when he steps out wearing the shirt, everyone bursts into laughter. You laugh so hard you have to lean against a shelf, clutching your stomach.
âYouâre ridiculous,â Oscar says, spinning in a circle. âI look like a fruit salad!â
âAnd yetâŠâ Nicole leans in with a wink. ââŠyou look handsome.â
Kika grins, tugging lightly at his sleeve. âI told you. Youâre my favorite fashion experiment and brother in law.â
He mutters something under his breath, but you catch the corner of his mouth twitching.
The rest of the morning passes in a blur of laughter, teasing, and surprisingly adorable photo ops. Kika insists on helping him pick accessoriesâhats, scarves, even a soft cashmere sweater. Lily and Nicole take turns suggesting shoes and bags, all the while pretending theyâre doing it under âserious fashion research.â
At one point, Oscar is wearing a light blazer, patterned shirt, and shoes heâd never consider on his own. Heâs standing in front of the mirror, arms crossed, trying to look unimpressedâbut Lily sidles up behind him, wrapping an arm around his waist and resting her chin on his shoulder.
âYou look really good,â she whispers, and you hear the soft grin he canât hide.
âIâwhatever,â he mutters. âYou all are insufferable.â
âInsufferable, yes,â Nicole agrees, patting his arm. âBut we love you and we are tired of you dressing like a bum.â
You lean over, grinning. âWe all approve. Very cute.â
By the time the shopping trip winds down, Oscar is carrying a modest stack of purchasesâmostly stuff Kika insisted onâand heâs somehow smiling more than he expected to. You, Kika, Nicole, and Lily walk alongside him, teasing him the whole way back to the car, snapping photos, and laughing at his mock protests.

They used to be the quiet duo, a watchful pair, people would say. Although when Oscar got into F1, everything changed. Their bond didnât falter, however their lives changed drastically. When she found out her twin was in a high class sport, she knew she had to go with him, what else would she do with herself without her twin?
So travel they did. Neither of them ever getting tired of each other. Not to mention Logan was also there and she loved him like another brother. Her shy demeanor towards everyone else stayed. Lando toyed with her, flirting every now and then to make her shy away and blush.
Today was no different, only he had just won a race and they were out partying at a private club. No phones, cameras, or disposables. She didnât like to party, but sheâd go all out nonetheless.
âYou have to party hon.â Logan teased. Getting his nickname from her crush on Danny Ric and the nickname he called her, honey. She blushed at her childhood best friend and pushed him playfully. âIâm serious! Relax, there are literally no cameras in sight.â He seriously was a college frat boy at heart.
âI donât party Lo, I show up for moral support.â She responded, sipping the soda she ordered earlier in the night. Logan rolled his eyes at her and grabbed hold of her hand. She rolled her eyes and gave in to the manâs antics.
He spun her on the dance floor and twirled her in to his chest. âYou remember the dance from Prema!â Logan dragged. She helped the boys with a lot of their Prema challenges and couldnât resist showing Logan she hadnât forgot. Once she was satisfied with dancing she returned to her corner.
âBalled up in a corner as always, Piastri.â Lando teased. Her cheeks flushed and she stood her ground, not making eye contact. She knows heâs smirking. âI saw you dancing with Logan.â He whispered, tapping the table and walking away. She looks at him walking away and he winks.
She hoped the torment was over, however she was far from that. Daniel hobbled his way towards her after a few drinks. âHoney, come dance with me seriously.â He said smiling and laughing. She playfully rolled her eyes giving in to the Aussie. He has been her crush forever, she would never deny him a good time. They danced and drank.
Once Oscar had realized she wasnât in the corner like she usually was, he knew she got her hands on a few drinks. Fucking Danny Ric, he thought to himself. He sighs heavily at his teammate and set his drink down. âOsc, whatâs wrong?â Lando asked as Oscar disappeared to the crowd of drunken mechanics and drivers to find his sister.
He dragged her through the crowd and back to the table with Lando, making her sit down on a high bar stool. âYouâre such a dick.â She mumbled, her dress misplaced and hair messy like she just got railed on the dance floor.
âIâm not the one who got you drunk.â He said seriously towards her, not to fight but he knew it would shut her up. She opened her mouth to respond but didnât.
âYou think the allegations are true about him?â She asked. Her brother and his teammate look at her deeply confused and concerned. âBig dick Ric.â She whispered and then giggled at their reactions and Oscar decided they needed to leave.
âI think she needs some water.â Lando reminds his teammate. âIâll watch over her while you get that.â Oscar hurries off to the bar for water. Lando tilts her head up to look at him. âHow are you feeling baby?â He asked genuinely concerned.
âUmm..â Even in her drunken state she goes speechless at the smallest of words from him. Although her drunk mind definitely has more confidence. She looked down and then back up at him with a sly smirk. âIâm hoping I can feel you tonight.â She whispers seductively in his ear. His breath hitches in his throat, as she backs away with a smile on her lips.
âSheâs definitely drunk.â Lando confirms when Oscar returns with water. She giggles and takes it from him. âExcuse me.â Lando says striding off to the bathroom. Adjusting himself slyly as he did.
âWhat did you say to him?â Oscar scolded her. Heâs seen his sister drunk, but not around this crowd. Logan joins and sees her state. âDanny Ric.â Oscar confirmed.
âI just flirted back, Osc, nothing too serious.â She slurred, answering his question. âLogie!â She exclaimed before throwing her arms around the American. He hesitantly returned the action.
âHow many drinks did you even have?â Logan asked. He was also drunk but barely. She starts counting on her fingers and holds up one hand with all her fingers spread out. â5 drinks?!â Logan laughed and Oscar looked in surprise and sighed.
âWe have to get her back to the hotel, asap.â Oscar mentioned. âI would ask Lando for help but he had an âissueâ to take care of.â He whispered to Logan. Logan smirks at her and she chuckled at him.
âYou had one too many drinks and got Lando horny?â Logan asked impressed. âThatâs my girl.â He hugged her and Lando returns as they start to gather their things.
âCan pretty boy bring me to my room?â She asked, seductively clinging onto the Brit. Running her hands along his arm and across his abdomen. He clears his throat and grabs her arms to separate them. Lando did tease and flirt, but he sure as hell would never do anything while she was drunk.
âIâll come with you guys,â Lando reassures them. âI will not, however, be staying with her.â He nervously chuckles at the duo. She backed off from him, understanding he doesnât want the attention.
âUnderstandable, Iâll stay.â Oscar said. They make it to the hotel and Oscar hands her clothes to sleep in before unzipping her dress and ushering her into the bathroom.
âSheâll be hungover tomorrow.â Logan reminded. âWater and electrolytes.â After saying their good byes, Logan set off to his hotel room. Lando stood in the door frame talking with Oscar for a while.
She returned to the main room with an oversized shirt and underwear, Oscar gave her shorts but she didnât want to wear them. âNo fair, Logie left?â She whined. Oscar rubbed her back and she noticed Lando. âCan I cuddle Lando instead?â She asked her brother. The Brit found an easier way out than expected.
âClingy too huh?â Lando smirked. âLet me change and I can come back.â He said, not letting Oscar answer for him. She leaned her head on Oscarâs shoulder. After a few minutes Oscar checked his phone and scoffed. Lando was not coming back.
âLetâs lay down while we wait.â Oscar distracted her. She groaned and obliged. Her head hit the pillow and she was out. Oscar freshened himself up for the night, putting on clothes she had stole from him. He laid next to her and fell asleep facing away from her.
She groaned after waking up with a horrendous headache. âFucking Ricciardo.â She mumbled, exiting the bed. She checked her phone and had multiple texts: Lando, The Honeybadger, and Logie Bear.
Such amazing men, she thought while rolling her eyes. She responded to Danny and Logan, but left Lando on read. Oscar woke up and called out for her. âYou better still be here.â He warned.
âOh hush. Iâm in the bathroom.â She shot back. She did her morning routine and took pain meds for the headache. She went back out and Oscar was responding to texts as well. âLo said he has snacks, Iâm gonna head there.â Oscar motioned for her to go.
She knocked on the door and Logan opened it smiling. âWell good morning.â He said. She entered with a roll of her eyes and sat on his bed. He tossed snacks at her and a water bottle. âFun night?â He asked mockingly.
âDonât remind me.â She rubbed her face. âI donât even remember half the night.â She laughed. She opened a bag of chips, while Logan texted on his phone.
âWho else texted you, Iâm sure I wasnât the only one Miss Flirty.â He joked with her. Her eyes go wide and Logan laughed. âYou made Lando excuse himself, and somehow got Danny to dance on a table.â
âLando texted me, but I didnât respond.â She said. âDanny also texted me but I just sent emojis.â She went back to Landoâs text and showed Logan.
âYou leave him on read all the time?â Logan mentioned, seeing previous texts from the man. She didnât feel like she had to respond. All he did was flirt or text her stupid questions.
âItâs harmless things.â She shrugged. âI donât know, I think he likes me.â He did. She said it innocently, unknowingly, although Oscar and Logan knew the truth.
âWhat if he does?â Logan teased. He knew she wouldnât catch on, it wasnât her thing to catch on quickly to things like that. âWould you even flash him the light of day?â
âHeâs, how do I put it, out there?â She couldnât find the right phrase for it. âIâm very, you know, not out there.â She looked at the text and started a response, then deleting it letter by letter. âShould I do flirty, annoyed, orrrrr no response?â She asked her best friend.
âIf you do flirty heâs going to think youâre still drunk.â Logan laughed. âAnnoyed is more you, but so is saying nothing.â He shrugged. He grabbed her phone and replied to him. She hesitated before she realized heâd already sent a flirty text.
âLogan!!â She squeals looking at the text. She playfully punched him as he laughed. The Brit texting back a reply already. âI swear!â
âWhat did he say?â Logan couldnât contain his laughter. There was a knock on his door. He answered it with a crack, letting Oscar in. âPerfect timing!â
âOh god what did you two do?â Oscar sighed. Landoâs text came through and her cheeks burned red as her breath hitched. âDid you see a ghost?â
âLando probably responded.â Logan choked on his words with a laugh. Oscar was confused and hovered over his sister. Oscar tapped her head seeing the texts and she pushed him away.
âLogan sent that! Not me.â She defended. Oscar now tapped Logan on the head. He groaned and held his head. âCareful he might be into that.â She mumbled jokingly.
âAm not!â Logan said tossing a pillow at her. She laughed and thought of a response. âWhat did he even say back?â Logan inquired.
âWell after you sent that he can fuck my sister anyway he wanted, he said when?â Oscar said annoyed. That wasnât the exact words but basically along the same lines.
âOsc donât be so dramatic Logan just said enjoyed last night letâs do it alone.â She read the text. âI hate you so much.â She looked to Logan this time.
âNo you love me, I just got you a date with an F1 driver.â Logan responded. Not like she needed one but she got one. Her phone buzzed with another text.
âOscar can we kill Logan and make it look like an accident?â She asked nonchalantly. âBecause Lando just said heâs on his way to my room.â Oscar went wide eyed and took her phone.
âThe room you arenât in?â Logan laughed. She tossed a pillow at him hard. âIâm joking!!â He said through his laughs.
âFucking horn dog.â Oscar said. âWell go to your room then.â He didnât know how to respond to this either. She whined at him.
âLook if you donât want to do anything tell him, I donât think Landoâs a prick.â Logan said seriously now. âCommunication remember?â Logan said like she was a kid and nodded his head before smiling.
She got up and threw another pillow before exiting and going to her room. Lando was already there. âI didnât know you werenât here, I wouldnât have come.â He smiled awkwardly.
âIâm here now?â She said like it wasnât obvious. The hint of attitude riled him up and he smiled for real this time. She unlocked her door and let him in.
âSo who sent me the text?â He asked. His cocky demeanor returning. âYou usually donât respond to my flirty texts.â God she hated how he knew her so well.
âLo did, he stole my phone.â She said, keeping her response simple as she picked up the discarded clothes from the night before. âDo you really like me, or is this because Iâm playing hard to get?â Right to the point damn ok.
âUhh.â Itâs his turn to be speechless. âBoth?â He admitted. She blushed and stopped cleaning. She tilted her head as to say âreally?â
âItâs not a fun game to play Norris.â She responded. She finished with the clothes and sat on the bed. âIâm not only hard to get, but hard to keep happy.â
âI can take that challenge.â He smiled. âOne date?â He asked. She thought it out and ultimately agreed. They planned a date night and he left. She kissed his cheek before he was gone.
âJust a little goodbye kiss.â She said innocently. He left nearly stumbling and she saw Oscar and Logan down the hall. She waved them over and they trampled each other to get to her.
âWhat happened?â Logan asked. They were like gossip girls. She told them everything and they listened. âSuch a flirt.â Logan teased.
âIâll have him running after the first date.â She said. Oscar stayed quiet. He knew they would get on well but never thought to mention it. âOsc why are you being quiet?â
âIâm always quiet.â He said quickly. Now she knew he was on to something. He only ever talked quickly when he was hiding something. She narrowed her eyes at him, hoping he would spill. âDonât narrow your eyes at me!â He accused.
âOscar knows all.â Logan whispered in his ear. He made a stupid face and his sister stood with her arms crossed from the bathroom doorway.
âSpill.â She said simply. Oscar rambled about how theyâll get along and that he never mentioned it because he didnât think sheâd like him. âOscar!!â She groaned.
âWhat?!â He said. âYou always ignored him, I thought it was a lost cause like the other guys Iâve said that about!â He has a point. Any other guy she tried dating would get âOscar approvedâ and then go downhill.
âTo be fair, Lando is a really good guy.â Logan added. âI think youâll make cute curly headed babies.â She threw the party dress at him and he caught it laughing.
âNot helping Logan!â She said.
The date came and went, she did like him. She felt like it was a betrayal to Oscar though. He assured her it wasnât and laughed at her for thinking that. âYouâre my twin! If he likes me itâs because he likes you!â She argued. He laughed harder than sheâd ever seen him before.
âMrs. Norris.â Logan joked laughing with Oscar. âHas a nice ring to it.â He teased. She threw a pillow at him.
âYouâre both assholes.â She said.
She went on more and more dates until it finally clicked in her brain she really liked Lando Norris. It clicked for Lando the second date but it took her around 4.
She kept herself quiet in the paddock until Lando would appear and fans caught on. âSis youâve got a bad girl rep.â Oscar mentioned, sweaty and downing water after a race. âFuck Singapore is hot.â
She helped him cool down and unzip his suit. She told Kim to make an ice bath and he did. Oscar did good in the race but the heat really got to him. Seeing her twin double over was not on her list for the day. She grabbed his arm and slung it over her shoulders.
âGet off me.â He mumbled, nearly passing out as she held him up. She didnât let him go and Lando noticed she was struggling since he was refusing help. âIâm fine!â Oscar tried to yell but he was too weak, Lando helped him up, walking to the ice bath.
âOscar take off your suit and fireproofs.â His sister demanded. Oscar tried his best but ultimately they had to help him. Lando helped him get in the ice bath and he sighed. âDonât scare me like that!â His sister quipped when he came back to reality.
âLook, heâs fine.â Lando comforted her. âI think I need an ice bath too, it was really hot out there.â Lando took his time doing the same with little to no help from Jon.
When the boys recover it was hotel and bed time. Oscar had been wary of her whereabouts at night and decided he should sleep in her room, using his sickness as an excuse. They always did it as kids, when one was sick the other would comfort them and sleep in the same room at night.
She was hesitant but agreed, giving Lando a look. She planned on ârewardingâ him for winning the race. With Oscar sleeping in the bed next to her it took a while before she could sneak away. When she was successful she went to Landoâs room.
He opened the door and greeted her with a kiss. He had asked her out before the race and she was super excited to say yes. They hooked up after the third date and she wanted more of him after that.
âSo naughty, sneaking off to sleep with your brotherâs teammate.â He teased. She giggled and warned him that Oscar might wake and call her or just show up. âWell then guess we can make this quick.â He lifted her off the ground and they kissed again.
They definitely were quick. Not having touched each other in around a month since the first time. âI donât think itâll fit.â She panted in between kisses. She had a good point, the first time Lando couldnât fit his entire length.
He was slow and didnât push it, knowing the position wasnât ideal. When she reached her limit of fitting him, he started thrusting slowly. âSo tight my love, god.â He panted, resting his head on the wall behind her. His mouth was open, panting on her shoulder as he thrusted upwards to meet her hips.
She strained her moans, keeping them from getting too loud. She finished first, her body relaxing enough for him to fit more of his length, gravity doing its job of impaling her further down on him. âOh my god.â She moaned.
âFuck, my love.â Lando groaned, trying to hold her up from going all the way onto him. When her orgasm subsided, he continued his thrusts and pulled out when he was close. His cum spilling out on the floor as he kissed her. âI canât wait until we can properly have sex on a bed.â He panted.
They got cleaned up and she headed back to her room. Oscar had been awake since she left. So when she walked in slowly closing the door and he stood with his arms crossed in the doorway she jumped. âJesus Osc!â She said.
âI approved you dating him, not fucking him every other night.â He said calm. She blushed, most nights it was just innocent cuddling or making out. âWhile Iâm in your room too?â
âYou, I mean-â She couldnât find an excuse. âHe won Osc.â She mumbled quietly. He shook his head and got back in bed. She joined him, facing away from him.
The rest of the season was good, both boys winning a few races and celebrations in order. She was so proud of her brother and boyfriend for the world championship. She cried in Abu Dhabi when it happened, the fireworks lighting up the sky with different colors.
Winter break was right there, but Oscar was hesitant for her to go to London and stay with Lando and his family. âOsc Iâll be fine!â She argued. She wouldnât be, they hadnât been separated in god knows how long.
âWe havenât been apart for that long in like 16 years!â He was mad, not mad at her idea, mad she was going to just leave him alone for a week or so. âI really want you to think this over.â It sounds stupid honestly. You canât leave your sibling for more than a week and youâre both 23?
âI know itâll be hard, but we can still text, or call.â She said. They sounded like a married couple or something. âMaybe itâll be good if we spend time apart, I mean, we havenât.â
âYou followed me for racing just to run off with my teammate?â He was exhausted from arguing. âI mean I love you, I think itâll be good for you, but I donât want to lose you.â She recoiled at the statement.
âLose me?â She asked, her voice cracking. âOscar, Iâm still your twin, Iâll always be there for you, itâs a stupid trip to meet his family, weâll be fine!â Lando had heard this conversation and took it literally when she said âstupid tripâ.
They hug and make up before she goes to tell Lando sheâs ready to go. They had a flight to catch. âYou donât have to come with me.â Lando mumbled. Basically kicking rocks like a sad puppy.
âWhat?â She asked. They were walking through the paddock holding hands. âLando I just spent 10 minutes convincing Oscar I should go with you.â She slightly laughed. âWhat are you talking about?â
He looked to her with a truly sad look. She nearly cried seeing him upset. Her hand cupped his cheek. âYou said it was a stupid trip.â She sulked her shoulders and kissed him.
âOh baby, Iâm sorry, I didnât mean it like that.â She comforted him. âOscar was getting on my nerves and it came out wrong.â She felt so bad that he heard that over anything else they said. âHe wanted me to stay for his own good, but I chose you.â She whispered.
âSo you donât think itâs stupid to visit my family?â He asked. She pouted at his words. She assured him she didnât think it was stupid at all. âWhy would Oscar want you to stay anyway, youâre with him like all the time?â
âThatâs why, heâs afraid of losing me, which is stupid because itâs not like he can escape me.â She laughed. âHeâs my brother and heâs protective, but we havenât been apart for more than 48 hours in over 16 years.â Lando was surprised at this fact.
The new season came quicker than anything and she laid low. Her quiet demeanor returned but in a much more aggressive way. People would talk her ear off and she would nod. Logan would talk to her and she would have a straight face all throughout the conversation.
Oscar noticed halfway through winter break that something was up, but she denied him each time heâd ask. Lando didnât break up with her, his family was perfect to her, why is she all of a sudden back in her shell?
The last straw was their birthday. She was usually jumpy, giddy, excited to be a year older. When McLaren tried doing a birthday surprise she flashed a thin lipped smile and kicked the balloons around. âThank you.â She said. Something or someone killed her old self and Oscar is determined to make sure they become unrecognizable.
âAlright, thatâs enough.â Oscar said huffing a breath at her lousy celebration. âWhatâs gotten into you?â He asked. So much for saying he wasnât losing his sister.
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â She said, her stone cold look and monotoned voice was all he needed. âIâm literally fine Osc.â She tried playing it off.
âNo you arenât, usually on our birthday youâre happy, excited, weâre a year older letâs get drunk and dance around stupidly.â He said. âYou fucking said âthank youâ and kicked a balloon around.â This time when she looked up tears were forming in her eyes.
He immediately was by her side, hugging her tightly. He didnât mean to upset her but this definitely wasnât from his scolding, there was something else. âThe fans are so mean.â She sobbed. âI love Lando, I love you, I love this sport, but theyâre all putting me down and itâs too much.â
She sobbed uncontrollably in his shoulder, his hand rubbing her back and cooing in her ear. âHey, theyâre mean people who hide behind a screen, what gives them the right to control you?â He asked. âThey can say whatever the fuck they want, but I donât want you to think lowly of yourself because of it.â
She sobbed harder at his words and he held her. Lando wondered where she had run off too, knowing about all of it and trying to keep an eye on her. He knocked on Oscarâs door. âHey mate have you seen-â He walked in, seeing her upset in Oscarâs arms.
They turn to look at him and she gives him a small smile. âIâm okay Lando.â She lied. Oscars face said it all. âWe have a birthday to celebrate.â She said to Oscar. Lando looked to Oscar as she walks past.
âSheâs been like this the past few months, I canât get her to look past it.â Lando explains. Oscar just nods his head and walks out to find his sister again. The twins walk to the paddock without a word and when they exit through the garage, all the drivers and team principals scream âhappy birthdayâ and pop little confetti canons.
Logan approaches her with cupcakes and she wraps her arms around him. âThank you.â She says muffled by his shirt. Logan knew she always wanted to be surprised for her birthday, exactly like this. Oscar was smiling in disbelief.
âLogan you did this?â Oscar asked. Lando walked out and saw everything and smiled, Logan had told him his plan. Thatâs why he went to go and get her, not planning on seeing her upset. âYouâre the best.â Oscar joined the hug. Logan knew she had been down about the media hate and thought there was no better timing than now to do the surprise.
âI couldnât have asked for better people to be in my life.â She said, crying tears of joy now. âYouâre all amazing.â The drivers all celebrate the Piastri twins before they leave the paddock.
All her worries about the hate fade away with time. Soon sheâs traveling along with the boys to every race and enjoying her time with McLaren.
Rumors start arising and she gets stressed and nervous again, the headlines reading, âNorris to propose?â Or âPiastri might be a Norris at the end of the year.â She didnât bring it up to Lando and played it off.
Lando planned a trip for them and Oscar insisted she go, dolled up and ready. She was skeptical but listened, getting her nails done, hair done, all of it.
It was an amazing hotel with great views. What she didnât know was that Oscar was on the next flight out. Lando and her spent the first day on the beach, relaxing and having a chilled out day.
The next day he told her, âwear something fancy, thereâs a nice restaurant I want us to try.â So obliviously she did. The restaurant was amazing, but before they ate Lando insisted they look at the Fountains. She obliged and Oscar was sneakily hidden in bushes recording as Lando got down on one knee and proposed.
âIâve loved you for so long, and I want to make you my wife. Will you marry me?â She was in hysterics as she looked around as if it was a joke.
âYes, omg yes Lando!!â She said. Oscar popped out as he was putting the ring on her finger and they hugged. âYou snuck Oscar here?!â She playfully hit him on the chest.
âI knew youâd want it videoed.â He smiled at her. They swayed back and forth, now engaged.

lando stood nervously on the passenger seat, while you drove to the restaurant. he didnât need to say anything for you to realize how insanely nervous he was.
you told him tonight was the night you would let everyone know what he actually meant to you.
you had been dating for a month and some days, and not telling anyone was crazy, in your perspective. you knew everyone would support you, but you were still a little apprehensive. after all, lando was oscarâs teammate, and you didnât want to make things at work difficult for neither of them.
it was a good opportunity today because your whole family agreed to go out for dinner after a good home race for oscar. lando got a podium, oscar got fourth place. it was good for the team and for both drivers.
even though there was some controversy.
once you told him, the british immediately panicked. your family loved him, and he was aware, but he couldnât shake this uneasy feeling.
seeing him so tense, you decided it was better if you drove. you were not completely normal about this either, but you felt this was way easier for you.
as you got closer to the restaurant, you felt like you needed to, at least try to, calm him down.
âthey already love you, lan. itâs not like us being together changes their opinion about you.â you looked over at him as you parked the car.
he simply nodded, kissing the back of your hand after holding on to it for a while. you stood in the car a little more.
âyouâre right. letâs go.â he finally told you.
you both walked together up to the table. oscar had his back to you, so you hugged him from behind. other members of the family smiled at landoâs figure behind you as you kissed oscarâs cheeks.
âyou brought lando?â your mother asked, a smile plastered on her lips as she walked over to hug the british.
âyeah⊠hm. i wanted to tell you guys, somethingâŠâ you started, making every one face you except your brother, who you were still holding. âwell, me and lando, we are together.â you slowly let go of oscar as he turned around, a serious expression on his face. âas a couple, boyfriend and girlfriendâŠâ someone let out an excited noise and all you could see were smiley faces.
âfinally!â your dad said from across the table, coming closer right after and hugging lando in his own way.
the driver was clearly nervous, but way better then before. a soft smile in his lips as he looked over at you.
you looked at oscar, trying to get a reaction out of him and he simply smiled, nodded and whispered a âcongratulationsâ to both of you, before turning around to eat again.
you sort of expected a better reaction from your brother, maybe an excited one, maybe a protective one.
the aussie looked like he didnât care enough to give it a minute of attention.
maybe it was just because today was supposed to be about him, and you ruined it. maybe he wasnât so pleased to have lando as a brother-in-law. maybe he was just tired because of the race.
you didnât give it too much thinking, you moved to his right, sat next to him with lando by your side, and ate. making conversation with everyone around and looking over to lando from time to time, to make sure he was doing okay.
that night, you got home with lando and received an extremely good feedback from your family. they loved norris, and were delighted to have him as a part of the family.
oscar, who didnât seem to be so pleased, never texted you. you noticed it and found it strange, but once again thought there could be other explanations to it. not just that he abhorred the idea of you two together.
some weeks passed away and you were now on landoâs driver room. sitting on the edge of the couch, caressing his hair.
norris knew you loved formula one more than almost everything, so he made sure to have you there in japan with him, since oscar had already gifted his own passes.
your boyfriend looked over at you with a concerned look.
âhey, baby, have you talked to oscar after we told him we were together?â he asked, playing with the zipper of his race suit.
âi donât think so.â you stopped to think, and realized you hadnât indeed talked to him. which was odd, as you were always glued to each other. âi think heâs been pretty busy.â
lando hummed and you looked down at his face. âwhy?â you asked, he shook his head while looking at you.
ânothing, love. it just looks like heâs avoiding me.â with half-closed eyes, you hummed.
after all, your theory might not be wrong. maybe oscar didnât like the idea of you and lando as more than friends.
âiâll try to talk to him, lan.â you bent down to kiss his forehead. âyou have free practice in a few minutes, donât worry about this. it will be okay.â
he sat up and hugged you.
âi love you.â he smiled against your neck.
âi love you too. good luck, baby.â you smiled back, feeling his lips on the sensitive skin. he eventually got up and left the room. you stayed back a little to get his laptop and notebook, for after the fp sessions.
lando had two shitty sessions, finishing 10th in one and 12th in the other. on the other hand, oscar managed to pull some really good laps, finishing 8th and 1st.
your boyfriend got out of the car and looked over at you to let you know he was okay, as that was always a preoccupation, and talked with his mechanics, giving them feedback about the car and what could be improved.
oscar did the same thing, not taking so long because there wasnât really much that the mechanics could do on his car.
piastriâs feedback after the first free practice helped him realize that the problem was how long he took to brake on the corners. improving that, he made an incredible fp2.
âosc, good job.â you smiled at your brother as he passed by. the aussie simply nodded his head before going into his driver room.
you thought of following him immediately and get things cleared out, but maybe you should just wait for lando. this was about him too, after all.
your family wasnât here yet, because, except for your father, none of them actually liked formula one. they liked that your brother was brilliant doing it, but they didnât really know anything or cared about the sport. so they only came for the race. never even qualifying.
your dad watched them from home, not wanting to leave your mother alone with all the hosting responsibilities.
once norris was freed, he walked up to you and held you in his arms.
âyou were distracted out there.â you stated. the british let out a frustrated sigh.
âi know⊠itâs just the oscar situation. heâs one of my closest friends in formula one. i donât want him to hate me.â you chuclked, pulling the man closer to you.
âhe doesnât hate you.â you commented. âletâs talk to him.â landoâs eyes widened and he pulled back to try and see if you were serious.
ânow?â he asked and you nodded, grabbing his hand and pulling him though the garage until you reached oscarâs private room.
hearing a knock on his door, oscar ran to the door.
âhi?â he was confused with your presence. it wasnât you he was waiting for.
âhey. i think we need to talk.â without asking for permission, you entered and dragged lando inside with you.
âwe do, actually.â oscar states, closing the door and leaning against his table. lando took place on top of a balcony and you leaned against that same balcony, standing face to face with your big brother.
no one said anything for some seconds. trying to figure out what was the best way to start this important conversation.
âyou guys shouldâve told me.â oscar said, looking between the both of you. anyone who knew him could tell how hurt he was. his eyes reflecting it.
âwe told you!â you remarked.
âyeah, after what? two months?â he sarcastically pointed out. ânext time send me a letter, maybe it would be faster.â you rolled your eyes and lando stood still, understanding oscarâs side perfectly.
âthis isnât about you.â you said, lando touched your back gently, trying to calm you down.
âyou are my sister, y/n! do you even know how much i care about this? you are my other half, the person i love the most in this whole entire world!â oscarâs voice rose a little as he spoke. âand lando, you are my friend! you both kept this from me and discarded me in the process. i was informed at the same time that auntie joannah was!â
you felt the urge to laugh at the mention of the old ladyâs name, but kept your expression still. a little more saddened now that you were realizing just how big your mistake was.
âoscarâŠâ
âno, y/n. let me finish.â he asked. you simply nodded, and he continued. his arms were crossed in front of his chest now and he had his race suit halfway down. âyou have been distancing yourself and i have no idea of why. at first i thought you werenât okay because of hate or how things were going with tennis, but you donât seem very preoccupied with that, so i really donât know.â
he takes a deep breath before speaking again. âiâm sure you had your reasons, but youâre my best friend, y/n, and constantly feeling like you donât trust me anymore, or donât consider me as you did before⊠it hurts.â
sadness embraces you as you listen to your brother. lando caresses your shoulder from behind you.
âmaybe i should leave you two to talk, this is family matter.â the british suggests.
âyouâre family.â both you and oscar say in unison. lando couldnât help but feel his heart warm, smiling softly to himself as you think of some way to explain things to oscar.
âyou know, i would have been your relationshipâs biggest supporter if you had given me the chance.â oscar was the one to talk again, and you couldnât hold back anymore. you needed to hug him, and so you did.
it was a clumsy hug, but it meant everything to you.
âi never meant to hurt you, osc.â you truthfully told him, feeling his grip tightening around you. âit was supposed to be a surpriseâŠâ
âwhat a fucking great way to do it.â
as you both hugged each other, lando watched from the balcony. he too was scared of losing oscarâs friendship, but he was sure that you would do the right thing, and sort things out.
âi never thought you would see this as a good thing. from the start, you and lando got along really really well, and i never wanted to get in the way of that, but i did not control it.â tears threatened to come out of your eyes at any time.
âwhen it happened, when we happened, i was terrified⊠but this was strong, i couldnât stay away from him even if i tried. it was the kind of love you can not put down⊠and the idea seemed to be less and less terrifying.â you tried to explain. oscar payed close attention to every word you said, and lando, from the balcony, did the same thing.
it was the first time you opened up to someone other than your own figure in the mirror.
âand then i embraced this. this idea of being his, and then he asked me to be his girlfriend and i could never say no. i love him!â
you turn around to look at lando, who hugged his knees and smiled at you. oscar looked too and immediately realized that norris was the one for you. just by his eyes.
âbut i still wasnât prepared to tell you, because of every single devilish thought in my head. so i kept my distance because i know i wouldnât be able to lie or hide anything from you. but i never, ever, stopped trusting you or considered you less.â you remarked. âyouâre my osc, my big brother, you are my everything, and iâm sorry for not communicating.â
you could see in his eyes how hurt he was, and you hated to think it was all because of you.
âiâm sorry, oscar. i really am.â
âi like to know stuff. and i love you,â he pulls you into a real hug this time, allowing you to breathe freely again.
lando, who was still sat on the balcony, walked over towards you and stood next to you, watching the sibling moment with admiration in his eyes.
it was rare to find such a connection.
when you two pulled apart, lando finally broke his silence.
âhey, osco⊠iâm sorry too man. we both thought about surprising you, and i may have been a little more guilty than y/n there, because i didnât want you to hate me for dating your sister.â
oscar smiled at the brit.
âi trust you with her, and i donât hate you. but if you ever even think about hurting her...â lando nodded knowingly, and they touched hands.
âi would never. i really love her.â oscar pulled your boyfriend into a hug and you stood back, watching the two of them.
âi can see it.â oscar smiled as they pulled back.
lando ran his hand from behind your neck until he reached your shoulder, and pulled you close. he kissed the top of your head.
âiâm family now eh?â lando bragged and oscar rolled his eyes.
