I like to think that Phainon didn’t just challenge Mydei for the hell of it. That he knew the both of them needed to unwind after having to experience their worst fear and relive their worst moments.

So I’m choosing to believe that Phainon egged Mydei on, on purpose. I totally believe there’s a hint of genuine competitive nature there, but I think his main goal was to provide them an excuse almost, to relax (esp in each other’s company). It’s obvious they worry for one another, and I like to think Phainon would show his concern in this way.
