In one short word: busy. My veterinary schooling kicked up intensely -- I was doing surgery for most of the month of December -- and I had little to no chance to really engage in most of my creative and recreational pastimes.
While I’ll try to check in more here (I promise!), I’m far more active on twitter (@georgewbox). I’m semi-active on instagram (@aetherbond) if that’s more your speed.

Shadows: Brought! As of today, I’ve finally wrapped up the main Shadowbringers’ MSQ. I’ve capped it out, as I had last time, with a grand total of five capped classes: Scholar, Summoner, Bard -- and, as a wild surprise, Paladin and Dark Knight, which hadn’t even been on my radar before this year!
Bard and Paladin got their own shots seperate from this post, because I just adored those shots. I’m going to go into some vague musing about the expansion below the cut.
So... Boy howdy. This expansion has been... A lot for me.
When I played through the benchmark, I hadn’t realized that I was crying until all the last cutscenes rolled through and I was left staring at a dark screen. It had been a very long time since it struck me just how much, simply put, I loved this game. It had changed my life in terms of people I met and associated with. As many of you probably know by now, I would be a lost soul without @further-ruin . I’m absolutely convinced they’re my platonic soulmate. This expansion sort of went to harden that friendship, overall. At every second each of us could spare, it felt like we were together. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I love video games that make me cry. That seems wild to say, but being moved so much by a piece of media is actually something I hope for every single time. And SHB made that happen over, and over, and *over*. The game is gorgeous both thematically, visually, and musically.
FFXIV continues to be something I’m so happy to be involved with.
