I'm gently easing my way through writers block/whatever insecurity decided to make writing the next chapter of the daemon au feel utterly impossible. I'm having to remind myself to be gentle with my writers' brain so it's slow progress, but it's getting there

Say what you will about the concept of spam liking and reblogging (which for all of my years on this site, I still do not understand why people dislike it so much) but seeing the resurrection of a beloved mutual going through my archive in real time is utterly and completely delightful

I don't normally have reading goals or anything like that, but I've decided that the next thing on the reading list after I've finished Waterlog by Roger Deakin will be Project Hail Mary during my two week break at the end of next week, hopefully I'll be able to buy it at the station. (Yes, it's been ages, and I've held out for this long, but @sandfordsmostwanted and @novaglowe have officially won me round)

This was only supposed to be a 'I need to remember that I can write' little oneshot for a book that I have loved since I was thirteen. 2.3k words and 11 pages later and it seems to have taken on a life of its own. Which is a good thing, I think?

Only four more days of work left before a two week holiday. Luckily it's been very quiet (and may it remain so) and I've been able to watch the tennis, but the thought of getting out of London and being somewhere that's forecasted as being 10 degrees cooler at the moment (with rain! I have missed the rain so much!) is going to my head

Reminding myself that I'm writing this fic for 13 year old me and just for her and that it is so freeing to be able to write without any expectations (at the moment, I'm not ruling it out, I'm just not holdng myself to it) of posting it to AO3 or having anyone read it.

Could honestly weep with relief right now- my new debit card has come and no money has been taken out of my account. Bloody London thieves.

In another universe I am sitting under a tree by some water reading Waterlog by Roger Deakin instead of dealing with everyone in the work inbox leaving their brains at home and making it my fault that they can’t seem to follow simple instructions, yes?
