phoebe is out! i think she was probably around 15/16. a little after puberty but still taking some time to figure stuff out. she had all the time and space in the world due to her pathologically accepting and affectionate mother, juniper.

AVERY: what does Pride month mean to your muse?

oh gosh. i think pride is really hard for avery as someone who struggles with addiction and sobriety because pride can be so centered around drinking and partying. they want to celebrate their gender identity but don't often put the effort into finding places in the city that can accept them and instead resign themselves to being stuck in a harmful partying environment.

GABRIELA: do they do anything extra to celebrate Pride month?

Does their family support them in being queer?

PHOEBE was raised primarily by juniper who is incredibly accepting and nurturing. juniper would accept phoebe in anything, especially phoebe being a lesbian. her father raif @eviji is a little more distant and less understanding if only because he has less exposure to hearing phoebe talk about romantic or sexual interests. her coming out to him is probably a shock.

CASS is not out to her parents. they are from south korea and not incredibly in tune with american and english-speaking news outlets. after knight fell apart, cass and their parents lost touch. they do not know that cass is in a partnership with mack and jm. they do not know that cass is gender nonconforming, poly, queer, etc.

How open are they about their "Queer Identity"?

PHOEBE is pretty open about being a lesbian because she has no interest in being hit on by men or in hitting on men. she is fortunate enough to experience little comphet because she was raised by juniper to accept and love herself as she is fairly far away from societal expectations. being on a farm will help with that i suppose.
