I don't know what I expected, though it was barely 6:30 am on a winter morning, where I come from, the sun is not up till 7 am, approximately.

While brushing my teeth I run one more time through the list of things I need to do this morning. Starting a new project is always stressful, it wasn't my first rodeo but I'm a bit of a perfectionist which always means that I end up being my worst enemy if things don't go exactly as I plan them.

I never met anyone from our London office but I have spoken to a few of them in the past. Working for a multinational company has those perks; you always cross paths with someone at least once throughout your career.

After putting some moisturizer on, I went to the kitchen to prep my coffee. I always have breakfast while putting my make up on, multitasking is one of my specialties. I was about to put some music on but I stopped myself 'Mr Dan the Prick will kill me if I wake him up right now' I giggled as I grabbed my headphones.

Tapped on Spotify and started my morning, coffee in hand and 'I don't care by Fall Out Boy' in my ears.

'Makeup and hair, checked' said out loud while giving one last glance at the mirror. Went back to the bedroom to dress up, and grab my purse and backpack. I was almost ready to go. Went to the bathroom for the final touch: lipstick.

Checked my phone and I had a few minutes to spare, I sighted in relief. I'm always late and I mean ALWAYS. I may be getting up 3 hours prior to an appointment and still manage to get there 5 minutes late. One of the things I loved about the company I worked for is that they are solely oriented to results, so my constant tardiness was not an issue.

As I was about to head out the door I remember that I had not yet replied the note my neighbor left me the night before. Something about that made me feel a little playful, I wouldn't know how to describe it precisely but something got triggered inside me as I received them.

So, I sat on the counter stool,  grabbed the note pad I left there and started writing:

'Dear Mr. Dan the Prick,

It has taken me by surprise your correspondence during yesterday's rainy and taciturn night, despite the best wishes you threw upon me, the change of scenery has proven to be harder than I thought, although it was much needed.

I want to take this opportunity to let you know how much of a splendid neighbor I am as I woke up at 6:30 in the morning and instead of roaring my music through my speakers, I decided to mindfully take into consideration your request and used my headphones. In case you missed rising to the sound of some pristine tunes, Spotify's choice of the day was 'I don't care by Fall Out Boy'.

I am glad to read that you have the will power to constrain your howling however, I was in great shock that you decided to share a personal statement including one of your kinks with someone you barely know. This relationship is going too fast for my liking: P

I have to depart if I want to make it to work on time; no one needs to know how big of a mess I am on my first day, right?

Before I realized and out of nowhere, I took my notepad and smooched a kiss on the paper leaving a transfer of my red painted lips on it.

'Why the fuck did I do that?' I asked myself. The reality was that I didn't know.

'Oh, well' I said as a shrugged.

Ripped the sheet out and headed out while folding it.

Slid it under their door and left.

The sun was finally peeking through the clouds
