The Hopeful Futurist
It's easy, to despair.
Our weights only ever seem to get heavier.
But we, as a whole, still believe in the utopias our ancestors dreamt for us. We still hope for those futures where we've solved our worst problems.
We believe that we can fix the climate still, and we can. We believe that we can fix politics still, and it's true. We believe that we can create not only a kind world, but a more open, and honest one.
We want so badly to be good to eachother, that we rage whenever someone breaks that trust. We DEMAND justice and find it wanting, too slow to change for a better world.
A world that desires for us to be the best versions of ourselves.
We dream of a future where we're free from the greatest of our worries, because we've done the work.
And it's going to take work, as hard as you've ever done, maybe harder, but it will feel right, knowing you're FIXING something instead of toiling for a broken system.
A future where we crack the science beyond USING our planet, the science of safegaurding it.
I believe in that future, because we are right at the cusp of it, we are so nearly there, close enough to brush fingertips.
