I've been watching In The Flesh and thus far it's been interesting and worthwhile--worth watching the whole first season in an evening, but not quite fandom level. But episode 2x4 is electric. Really, really excellent TV.
this will never not be funny to me.

Dark Carnival: The Aftermath || Closed.
Samuel sat in his camper van, wondering what to do next. There was so much to do, but one thing remained at the top of his list; he had to bury three of his carnies. Running his hands through his hair he stared at the ground, knowing that he would put three of his family into the ground within a matter of minutes. He bit on the edge of his thumbnails, trying to push the fond thoughts of his recently deceased from his head. He had to be strong today. If not for his own decency, then for his carnies that had lost two brothers and a sister.Â
Standing up, he buttoned the top button on his shirt and grabbed his black waistcoat, slinging it over his shoulders before buttoning it too in place. He looked at himself in the mirror, briefly, before fixing his hair and exiting the camper van carrying three compasses in his pocket. The weight and responsibility that la in his hands had taken a large hit on the blackout night. Having spent the night wandering with Virginie, he had completely neglected his carnival, too confident in it's safety. However, on his return, he found three slain and his carnival in turmoil. He could hear the cries of his family before he reached the front entrance of the carnival.Â
Joining his family at the three dark indents in the ground, Samuel held back his tears and simply took his rightful place at the head of the resting places of his carnies. "Today is a sad day," he began, clasping his hands and looking to the sullen faces of his carnies. He had seen this before, when Joseph died, and even then he thought it would be a long time until he would have to do this again. The thought had crossed his mind that the next funeral he would see would be his own. "To lose a sister and two brothers in one night is devastating, I know. However, we must pull through. Loss is a part of life after all and I'm sure that Lucy, James and Philip would want us to be strong." He gave a look to Kiara before quickly turning away and focusing on what was in his pocket. Taking the three compasses out, he smiled and found it hard to say much more on his lost family. Usually a man of many words, there had been too much shock to even attempt to say anything else.Â
One by one he dropped the compasses into the graves and stood back. "Lucy. James. Philip. You will be sorely missed, but should you decide to return, your compasses will help you find you way home." And with that, Samuel raised his hands and motioned the dirt until it fell into the graves, covering his family members with a last farewell.
