ANYWAYS everyone knows gerita im not gonna waste words on it. indophil, however, is pretty unknown in the fandom. indonesia and philippines were made canon in like. 2020? 2021? i can’t remember 😰 but yeah because they’re kind of new and were introduced during a relatively dead era for the fandom, so not many people know that they’re canon. for a hot minute the only ppl who gaf about them or the other seasians would be,,, southeast asian fans LOL. but more people def care abt them now

while gerita’s popularity stems from the sheer amount of canon content (which tbf js bcus they’re the main characters), history, and the whole backstory with HRE, indophil gets like. not even an eighth of that. (most asean content is all of them together i think, and iceland for some reason?? why r u here white boy are u lost) so fans tend to play into indophil’s shared history, friendship, and cultural similarities. i could yap on about that but i wanna move on

most ppl compare the two ships because its loosely the same dynamic of extroverted idiot twink x awkward himbo. and i can’t rlly fault ppl for that when they don’t know indophil as characters, BUT THEYRE DIFFERENT OK RAGHHHH

philippines and italy are similar, but thats because they’re both so extroverted and laid back. italy, and the entire show, revolves around how useless he is!! i’m saying this with love he’s pathetic and does whatever he wants. and philippines isn’t really shown to be that, he’s more mischievous with his friends and spends his time on that dang iphone.

on the other hand, indonesia and germany are HARDLY alike?!!!!???! like i don’t see it. at best they’re autistic and a little awkward. but indonesia has social skills?!? like his ass would not need a book to propose to philippines 😭😭😭😭

Our HWS Vietnam and HWS Indonesia are both cosplayers from Indonesia. 💙 We don’t have HWS Thailand here since we weren’t able to find one but we have a running joke that we’ve been telling everyone that the reason why Thailand isn’t there is because he’s the one who’s taking the pictures/video for us. 😂
