medkit is such an ass i hate him (so is everyone else)

to keep it simple like always, medkit (elton jackson) was born in a upper middle class setting, 1981, in liverpool, england (he would be 44 now). he led a quiet, yet strict childhood without the company of siblings (his two other siblings were way older than him, adults), just going to school, keeping his head down and his mind focused on his studies and his studies only.

friends weren’t hard to come by, yet medkit was a pretty boring individual, so it was hard to get them to stick around. because of that he spent most of his free time collecting things such as cards or rocks, or playing his violin he cherished so much.

what medkit desired most, ever since he was a little kid, was to go to law school to become a lawyer. it’s all he ever wanted; he had a passion for justice because of all the documentaries and papers he read on unfair court rulings and incompetent representatives.

but, his parents thought otherwise. they had been hoping ever since the day he was born that he would become a doctor, or any sort of occupation in the medical field, and they would see that vision become true no matter what; even if it meant crushing the personal dreams he’s had.

after secondary school, his parents had paid a generous sum for medkit to go to a medical school, unbeknownst to him. he argued and cried, trying to explain that he’s an adult now and he’s the one in charge, but the deal was already done, and he was forced to be okay with that.

medkit lived his years of medical school in spite and jealousy. he forced himself to sit through it, to enjoy it, knowing that he couldn’t back out in fear of what his parents would do. his PHD came to him sooner than he thought, and off medkit went into being an official doctor.

all his rage and miserableness transferred over to his job, where medkit would commit malpractice on his patients; prescribing them the wrong medication, negligence, faulty diagnoses, and most of all, swindling them out of money.

money was all he had at this point; it helped him live a rich and fulfilling life to make up for the pit of despair he had. this abuse of his patients wouldn’t stop, not even after a few tries; he got his pay out of it, and he wanted more, even if it meant a few people died in the process. so he continued on for nearly a decade, becoming calculated in each move he made as to not blow his cover, to keep up the front he had as the jolly, good doctor he put himself up to be.

all of terror would come to an end, just a week before his 32nd birthday, where he got into a fatal head-on collision car crash. despite the devastating impact he has caused on so many innocent people’s lives- his own death was a silent one. nobody weeped, nobody cared, all he got was a memorial at his job and a few roses. it was radio silence for medkit.

yes, the inpherno is heavily based on dantes inferno. theres 9 layers with crossroads in layer 7 (violence) since yknow... phighting! they phight! it was originally going to be in wrath but i thought violence fit better!

the whole general idea of this au is to follow the stories of very flawed and bad people, whether that be humans who committed bad actions/sins in their past life, or hellborn who want to cause peril

there are sinners (humans who committed sins in their past life so they got sent to the inpherno), and hellborn (demons born in hell whose pure purpose is to torture said sinners, most do but some dont such as sword, rocket, coil)

tying into that, hellborn are heavily feared by the sinners because of that, so friendship between the two types is rare (for example, slingshot is a sinner but is friends with both rocket and sword— hellborn —which is seen as taboo.)

crossroads is the run down city between the 7 regions/sins in violence, which has the hole to layer 8 in the middle. only ~5,000 demons live in crossroads while the rest (over 1 billion) are living in regions and actively getting tortured if theyre sinners

sinners are landlocked, meaning they can only leave the region of their sin through the soul train, a train that drops off wayward souls in the layers of the inpherno every 2 years, or if a hellborn takes them out of that region. hellborn can go to whatever region they want since theyre free to move around hell.

a lot of sinners join a faction if they are in pride, wrath, sloth or greed respectively for protection and a sense of community.

there are “angels” and “god” in this au, theyre called the enlightened ones and have a cloud of mystery around them. not much is known about them other than how they created the inpherno (which will be revealed in the lore doc later).

when a sinner comes to the inpherno theyre automatically given a gear! 90% of the time the gear represents something from their past life, the other 10% being a rare chance it doesnt (for example, shurikens gear has no ties to his past life).

romance and friendship are taboo and even laughed at in the inpherno/crossroads, since most demons dont live for long due to prolonged torture or being killed by another. despite that, the main cast of phighters still formed relationships (which will be shown in a doc i made for relationships)

hmmm you could explore that via having hellborn that are not native to the crossroads (as in they are from different layers)

Sin, sin is all around you in these grounds. 7 swords for each sin, 7 to unleash hell upon the sinners from Earth. The only way to leave is by your life whittling away with each beating, or to catch the train, that descends upon the Inpherno.

PLAYGROUND, highly athletic demons who fight tooth and nail for survival in the snowy peaks and jagged mountains of Sloth.

BLACKROCK, a modernized dystopia ran by innovations of weapons, technology, and robots, hiding in the black tar and lava of Wrath.
