A Moment In One Million Part 2
Faith's POV
I awoke from my sleep on the dirt floor when I saw the light of a torch come down the steps of my dungeon. The light, as dim as it truly was, caused me to squint. There in the shadows walked Pan.
"Rise and shine, angel." His iconic smirk graced his lips ever so delicately as he twirled the key to my chains in between his fingers. He leaned over me, offering me his hand which I took gratefully. Pan forcefully pulled me up, staring down at me so harshly as he belittled me more and more as the seconds rolled by.
"Faith Marie, I've been waiting for this moment since the instant you arrived." My eyes narrowed on the boy, a confused look covering my face.
How could I be of any use to you?
Pan raised the key, his other hand lifting up my bound wrists. His smirk disappeared, a serious expression replacing it.
"I know when I take off these chains that you'll be a good girl. I'd hate to have to put them back on." I nodded my head rapidly, making him chuckle. His smirk returned as he unlocked the chains, letting them fall to the ground. I stared down at my wrists that were red and bruised from the years they've spent in the chains.
To be rid of the chains is almost bliss...
Pan gathered the torch, holding out his hand for me to take it. I slowly grabbed onto his hand, allowing him to lead me to the staircase. I stopped, digging my feet into the ground as Pan looked back at me with a frown.
"What's wrong, angel?" I looked down, then back up at him, fumbling over words.
"W-Where are we g-going?" He chuckled, taking my hand again. He lead me back to the staircase, gesturing to the curling stairs.
"Don't you see, Faith?" I shook my head slightly. "As long as you do everything your told, you no longer have to stay down here. You are free from you chains." Pan pulled me along after him, but his words were resonating within me. I was free from the chains? It almost seemed surreal.
Pan opened the door, light flooding my vision. I squeezed my eyes shut, stumbling backwards from the blinding light. Pain from the sudden light ran through my head, pounding and beating like drums.
I felt Pans hand touch my forehead, a soothing, yet somehow shocking sense of magic entering my body. I felt my headache disappear, my ocean blue eyes slowly fluttering open. Pan stood before me, his brown hair shinning underneath the warm sun of NeverLand. His face was now clear and this only made me even more embarrassed.
I, the girl he constantly cared for, am a mess. My hair is tangled, my skin coated with dirt and grim, but he... He, especially in the blissful sunlight was even more enchanting than I first realized. His hypnotically beautiful emerald orbs bore into mine, his smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
My eyes finally left his, wandering over his camp and its contents. It was then I realized I was surrounded by a group of teenage boys. The lost boys, I presumed. Pan, to help pass the time in my cell, would tell me stories of NeverLand and the lost boys. Therefore, I knew so much of the islands history and its residents. All except for Pan. For he was with me many hours in a day, but rarely shared anything about himself with me.
"Now then, Faith." Pan said, ripping me away from my thoughts and memories of him.
"I have prepared a tent for you. You will stay in the camp with the boys and I from now on, but the same rule that I gave you when you first arrived still applies. Do you remember it?" He asked while leading me through the camp. As we weaved through the lost boys, Pan subconsciously rested his hand on my upper back as if to bind me without rope or chains.
"Yes. Of course, Pan." I answered shyly, my voice a bit deeper because of how little I use it. Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see Pans smirk. The next second, we stopped at one of the tents, but Pan rested his other hand against the door. He looked me straight in the eyes.
"Tell me, what was the rule? Say it out loud so I know you know." He said with so much authority that it almost scared me. I gulped, nodding my head.
"Never disobey you." I whispered, attempting to hide my embarrassment. I tried to hide my blushing cheeks behind my hair, but Pan moved the piece out of my face, exposing my face to him fully once more. He held the side of my face, giving a nod of approval.
"Good. Now settle in. You have a long life ahead of you, angel."
" I am still here patiently waiting for all of your questions.I am sure that most of you want me for Valentine's days."
