Airborne Puma by David & Shiela Glatz Via Flickr: We tracked this cat for almost two hours. When she headed up a hill, we actually got to the top before her. She poked her head up, took a sniff of air, and immediately retreated. When she popped up again about 20 yards away, she was in hunt mode. Ears back, low to the ground, stalking carefully and purposefully. A herd of Guanaco grazed ahead, unaware of her presence. Then it happened. The cat trotted, then broke into an all-out sprint. Here she gets all four feet off the ground in pursuit of her prey. She didn't catch the Guanaco, but she provided the most heart-pounding 6 seconds of activity we've ever experienced in wildlife photography.
