My whole life is like a complicated paper towns cartographic metaphor
John Green (The Fox Hat IS REAL, but Are Zombies People?)
I want to make something clear to you and to Nerdfighteria. The maps that we make with our vlogbrothers videos will always be distorted and insufficient, but the great thing about Nerdfighteria is that Hank and I are not the only nerdfighters. There are thousands of us working together to build the best, most accurate maps we can collectively draw

I forgot to share the final version of my Map of Kensington, made last year.
In the past, I would have made the text and arrows with india ink, but this is graphite. Gouache paint for the backgrounds. Colored pencil for the insets. There's less control using colored pencils, but they give an appealing texture. For instance, I think that's a very believable and kind of pleasing brick building for Sister Lucy's Flat!

I believe that what we map changes the life we lead. [...] I do believe that while maps don't show you where you will go in your life, they show you where you might go. You very rarely go to a place that isn't on your personal map
John Green (Paper Towns Academy)
